As a slosher main, that 8-ball bucket sounds incredibly fun. With how close quarters Splat 3 maps can be, I'd have a BALL using this huehuehe (no fr tho' it'd be fun af) Love how the grapple one was an almost spot on prediction for Zipcaster Also love the ink kettle, simply because it's better toxic mist The hammer and gauntlet were cool too! These were p neato! Nice job dude
I wanted to have new ideas for Tri-stringers and Splatana’s so I had some ideas One: Splatana Sander. Inspired by the vertical handheld sander in welding hold the charge attack and releasing will cause you to propel forward a longer distance than most Splatanas Two: Big bomba, a modified tri-slinger that only shoots one big bomb. Similar to the Explosher but the distance, damage and explosion radius is effected by your charge. To compensate the time to fully charge will be longer.
As another concept writer, I'm very happy that someone else also made a slosher/roller hybrid (the 8-roller) with virtually the same exact build as I thought of. The only difference I had was the design (I made it into a conch shell) and the fact that I never named it. I personally gave it little-to-no shot arch due to its rolling ball needing to be bowled.
About a couple years ago, I came up with such a similar weapon concept to the Rolonium Roller, even down to the name! Great minds think alike, I guess lol
Some of these sub ideas are very lovely! I'm actually working on a fangame. I think I'm gonna... 𝗌𝗍𝖾𝖺𝗅 these ideas. In all seriousness if I ever get far with my fangame I'll credit you if I ever use an idea! I'll bookmark this for now.
the Grapplink is a nice idea but would basically just be kind of redundant given that zipcaster exists, the 8-Baller sounds also pretty cool buuuut is inkredibly similar to blobber
@@Crostil To sum up my reasoning, they're gimmicks. Not that gimmicks are bad per se, but a gimmick needs a lot of work to be executed properly. That's the issue with these, executing them well in an environment like splatoon is almost impossible. This will mostly manifest in balancing issues, a lot of these nullify other aspects of the game too. Before I go in depth as to the issues behind each one, I want to make clear that I have the benefit of hindsight (knowing what splatoon 3 consists of) and that I am taking your ideas seriously. The Rolonium Roller is simply too versatile. It's multiple weapon classes mixed into one with a gimmick on top of that. Creative play is most encouraged in splatoon when the player is confronted with restrictions. You have to make a choice, either roller or brush. Having a weapon that is both depending on its state is frankly, broken. Granted it's something that would have a high skill ceiling, but it just lacks the drawbacks that are needed for something like that. Speed is usually the go to drawback with rollers, but you made it a brush too, which is a class kinda known for its speed compared to rollers. It's an idea that's all good no bad. Squee-G Sub is kinda silly. Both ideas take/nullify already existing sub weapons, be it the first function which acts like a worse or better autobomb (depending on execution) and the second being a mix between curling bombs and sprinklers. This isn't an awful idea, just restrictive. A bit too overcomplicated in a strange way. Grapplink sub is simply a less balanced zipcaster. It grants ridiculous mobility in both of its variations to all your teammates. This alone would require complete map redesign (unlike the temporary nature of specials). Giving you the benefit of the doubt, this does work when used exclusively by 1 person. That's why zipcaster is brilliant. This one's just unrefined. The mist kettle is simply impossible to execute in any meaningful way, it's either replaceable or way too good. In fairness I can imagine it acting like the rain special that already exists but with fog/toxic mist elements instead. But smokescreens unfortunately don't work very well in splatoon because they're too slow compared to the pace of the game as a whole. Although I will say this is probably my favourite. 8-Bowler is just not a weapon, it's curling bomb but needlessly more chaotic. I don't have too much to say on this idea. The stamp mallet is another ridiculous one. It's a special that you've found a way to compact into a weapon. I applaud you on this, but I think you can recognise why that wouldn't be fun. For the person using it, it'd be like constantly getting the bullet bill in mario kart, and for the people playing against it? Well you know what dealing with a stamper is like, I don't feel the need to elaborate. The octo gauntlets are just sorta weird, they'd make for a cool special I confess, but I just can't conceptualise that being particularly well done. Maybe that's a fault on my end, maybe it's because while writing this I am very tired. Oh well. You know the shifty stations from splatoon 2 splatfests? That's what the sponge mine feels like it's from. This is a stage element, not a sub. This is all written in good faith by the way, I'm not trying to dismiss you at all. I commend the effort and for what it's worth I enjoyed the video. I just don't think the ideas should be taken seriously. A mistake which I admit, I have probably made.
@@_Stray thank you for the criticism! I did focus on the fun aspects of the weapons to a detrimental degree, i had forgotten to give them downsides or limitations. i also agree that some of them are direct upgrades or inferior versions of existing ones, which is something i tried to avoid, but failed. I've upgraded my setup since this video, so i could definitely remaster this video with better balanced and refined versions of these concepts, and possibly a few more additions! Thank you again for the criticism, all of your points helped me to realize my mistakes and helps me to try again with better results!
I am going to cherish these illustrations forever
i’m glad you like them! i think i made the dialogue for the “demonstration scenes” too random but i think i made the weapons look good :)
@@Crostil There is no such thing as too random.

thanks so much, i'm glad you liked the concepts! I do love the splatana class they added, but i'm still waiting to get my gold dynamo back lol

Subs are awesome, rollonium roller and 8ball sloshed look awesome too, adding new depth to simpler weapons, other stuff looks alright at best

Nice video
The OctoGauntlet would make an amazing special
The gauntlets seem like you’re just playing moist ARMS.

I want a hulk smash for the ultra stamp if you hit the throw mode in the air now. good vid :)

1:13 DONT GIVE INNER AGENT 3 MORE IDEAS DUD!
ooh the mist one is pretty cool
seeker but cute update 🥶
blob but trauma 🥶
the oct arms be like: I SWEAR IT IS NOT FROM ARMS PLEase
I also thought the grapling hook as a sub with one unique ability, even the enemy can use it!
The compliments are basically just arms in splatoon
Someone get him a seat at Nintendo now theses are great
They predicted mist and hammer lol
No way splatscreen is so similar
yo what happened to the kirby mod
it got deleted cus it had a copyrighted character -_-
I'll be honest, I don't like any of these
why exactly? i would like to know, if that's alright
