@@ScottCarstairs you guys are fucking great right up there with Beyond Creation, Obscura, Allegaeon and First Fragment that tone is damn tasty btw do you have any tips for writing stuff?
@@ScottCarstairs coming back to this now while playing some updated No Mans Sky on PC and boy oh boy, entering an atmosphere with your ambient leads is fucking great. 👍
This song used to give me ptsd flashbacks because this song literally was playing in the car right before I almost died in a really bad car accident. I still love this song and all of Fallujah discography! A perfect band that honestly seems more like an entity than a band.
That's a crazy story man. that is what paul wardingham does for me. literally flipped a van listening to that record. glad you are ok and can still listen to the song haha!!
The Flesh Prevails is seriously one of the best metal albums of all time, at least top 3. I cannot put into words how perfect it is. Helps that it was a tiny beacon of light during a particularly lonely time for me, alone in Nebraska working nights at a hotel. The Flesh Prevails just made me feel at peace. Sadness wasn't forgotten, but it was dullened just enough for the hope to peek in. Musicians like Scott are doing God's work. Maybe one day He'll do it himself, but until then I'm so grateful to have music like this to lean on.
Still one of my favourite songs of all time. Has a kind of surreal, dreamy vibe to it as well as a feeling of longing. Words can't really describe it, it's just magical!
One of my favorite Fallujah songs. And the bassist is crazy as well. Good lord. It's amazing when you start to realize everything that's going on in this song.
Honestly anything by Fallujah can almost bring me to tears, especially so when it's in instrumental form and I can really hear the guitar work sing. You make it look SO easy, too. Unbelievable.
Much like Satriani, Scott Carstairs is one of the few guitarist that really take you on a journey. Scott's better at "atmospherics", if that's a term. One of my all-time favorite guitarists. His writing and composition are second to none. Most "relistenable" guitarist in my playthrough roster. You catch something new, even years later. 🤘
Sapphire is one of my favorite track from you guys, with The Void Alone, Hallucination or The Night Reveals. It really contains the essence of Fallujah with that cool association between brutality and ethereal guitar leads
Second comment: I’m sure there’s a devoted Harvest Wombs fan base that want to see playthroughs from that album. Assemblage of Wolves and The Flame Surreal especially for me. I love what you do!
Saw you guys last night in Albany, NY. The Flesh Prevails was the soundtrack to a particularly challenging time in my life, and helped get me through some real shit. Getting a chance to see the whole album performed live was fucking incredible. Thank you!!!
I used to leave TFP (and specially this tune, my fave) in the background while studying, doing homework or just reading. It's so inspiring, relaxing, yet full of energy. An ode to the finest compositions on earth.
somehow every single track from dreamless and the flesh prevails is a journey in and of itself. Such wide arrays of emotions printed in crystal clear fashion along the cascading harmonies. These moments carved in my memory just how eloquent music can be in comparison to every other media.
never heard Fallujah until I saw them when Killswitch Engage did their alive or just breathing tour in Australia. the whole time I stood there with my jaw wide open in amazement, fucking blown away! now one of my favourite bands. pure musicianship
This is absolutely fantastic, The Flesh Prevails is my favourite album ever, forever, not even a week has passed without me listening to at least one track from it. The whole album is an entire story, but each track lives on its own, the musicality is mind-blowing. Thank you, so much for your music! Parts like 2:15 in Chemical Cave where you feel like you float around...majestic...
Wow!! Chemical Cave has become one of my favorite songs in my life. It means so much to me. All I can say is thanks, Scott; thanks Fallujah for such an incredible, sweet and fresh composition! Masterpiece.
Dude, the nuance of your playing is mind blowing. You have absolutely everything a metal guitarist should aspire to. Can’t believe I’m just finding out about you guys
This song has been one of my favs for some years now, you are a master sir! Also took me by surprise that the lead part towards the end is harmonics, thats why it sounds so fluid probably
Everything about 4:10 on is absolutely fucking phenomenal.. The insane backing guitar riff, the hypnotizing lead, the drums, the bass riff.. Overwhelmed with emotion and power every single time
This is what life is! You are out of this world men, goosebumps allover! Unfreaking believable.... please keep doing what you do best! Rock on brother! Greetings from Holland
Eres mi inspiración, Scott… Gracias por tu gran trabajo que haces. En realidad me siento muy feliz de haber conocido a Fallujah desde los inicios de la banda.
I love that while technicality is present it does not obstruct the beauty in this and many other fallujah songs. It is not the focus but rather a complimentary factor.
I can't even count anymore how often the end part from 04:09 onwards helped me through heartache of all kinds. It's like the word "longing" is put into music. Thanks so much for your music and I'm so glad you're on YT. Subscribed! Greetings from Germany!
Man, I discovered Fallujah like 8 years ago while I was still in highschool and only recently have I been listening to you guys again. I am really glad I know about you guys, your sound has had a very deep impact on me as a musician!
I don't know how many days since 2013 have passed without me listening to something by Fallujah, but I can assure you there isn't that many. This instrumental is so beautiful and has helped carry me through hard times. I will always be grateful for this music!
I remember watching this one video all the time, that's total potato quality, of you and Brian practicing this song. So glad to see a high quality recording of you doing this song. Your solos are seriously the best out there!
I saw you guys in 2011 at Mojo Main in Newark, Delaware a few months before harvest wombs dropped. You played your whole set to just me and Walt. Been following your guys journey since that day. I told Walt after you guys were done, that was the best band this bar will ever see, and they had em opening lol. Big fan.
I had the pleasure of watching you perform years ago in Lancaster PA at The Chameleon Club. I was blown away by your playing style, the atmosphere your playing adds is amazing. I was fortunate to meet you all and you all signed the Nomadic LP after the show, thank you for doing all you do! keep up the great work man.

I'd love a Dean attempts to learn Fallujah. Also a video with Scott like you did with Misha would be incredible. Both of you are huge inspirations. 🤘
