Usually the goal of road blocks is so that the people being blocked get fed up and begin to blame their government for not taking action, which in turn makes the government take action because they have both activists and random civilians who have no interest in fighting for the cause demanding that the government does something about it.

I'm not so sure that has any merit other than creating backlash.. students are after all a fringe group and student protests in other countries worked only when they connect with wider domestic tolerance and issues like Korea 1988 and Iran 1979, friday for futures protests - if protests are disruptive but not recognised as important enough to the wider populace it comes across as entitled, elitist and frankly just annoying - if you don't have the scale or public support you should start building that alliance with organised protests rather than disrupting public life immediately
