Ichigo is a truly humble human hero despite his epic power. He fights to protect and save, then returns home to his normal life to let it resume while asking for nothing in return. He's the perfect foil for those he normally faces, who usually have everything yet want to see the worlds molded for themselves and only them. Ichigo deserves his peaceful postwar life his marriage to Orihime and friendship with Uryu are cherries on top.
Truth. That humbleness is what makes him who he is alongside his willingness to do the right thing regardless. Even a monster like Tokinada, who comes from a world that's the blood soaked opposite, actually praised him for his selfless heroism.
I do not understand people who do not understand what a character Ichigo is. As you said, he has a goal, it is Protection. While others want something for themselves, more power, more praise, more something, Ichigo puts his life on the line for non of those, but something more greater, wellbeing of his closest friends and even those he does not know. Sacrifice yourself for ones that you do not even know, that is one of the strongest if not strongest acts. They will not thank you or praise you or make you famous, they do not even know that you exist, but you kept them safe. His goal is in his name in the very beginning. Ichigo - one/best Guardian.
What’s so cool about Ichigo is even when he’s doing Mundane stuff as a human he’s still helping others. In the novels it touches on in the 17 month time skip how Ichigo was essentially helping random people by either walking old women across the street or stopping muggings. I think he actually got a key to the city because of it.
I mean.... he may not have a goal but his but him wanting to protect people is a pretty stereotypical desire compared to other shounen protagonists Then again in my opinion stereotypical doesn't mean good or bad it's how you use the stereotype is what makes it good or bad. but yeah I just don't think it's praise worthy for ichigo being unique solely on protecting people instead why he protects people
@@adi0r160 doesn't change the fact that rukia didn't know that to try and tell him, and what she could use to try to motivate him didn't work cause he didn't care until a kid was gonna die directly in front of him. He knews they killed people he went fuck it in a highschooler with a life of my own. I only know realized what you meant by this...how is that relevant? Teenage Ichigo didn't know that, and also zanpakuto are perfectly safe to kill the with? He just knew these things killed people and shrugged and went on with his life.

The thing that hooked me to ichigo was the way he's just really unique he was really realistic. He was not interested in being a hero at first, just really stood out to me. Compared to other mcs acting the same.
there was a moment in the hell arc chapter where a lieutenant wanted to take a picture with "the hero of the great war", which he promptly responded with "im not a hero".
The fact that he became an English translator or teacher is enough to tell you that he does not need a goal he's just a heroic character who only protects and helps others.
A little late but if I remember correctly he became a literature teacher, something that I like, since I understand that he really likes to read shakespeare .
I relate to ichigo's character alot, he just wants to live a simple life with his friends and family and his job is to protect them, he indeed reminds me of spiderman, who I also love, also one main aspect about ichigo, is that kubo presented his character as a mix of all races in bleach, which is pretty cool and the message it's trying to show to the audience
Bleach was the very first anime I've watched, and seeing Ichigo portrayed as a young man that sought only to protect others really resonated with me, and for this reason made his journey so captivating. Despite every cost, Ichigo never once showed selfishness or greed or passiveness. This anime inspired me to not give up on embracing life and loved ones, because we won't alaays have them, and to cherish and protect them no matter what.
Ichigo felt like an older brother to me while watching bleach even though I was the same age as he was pre time skip, and spider man was always my fav super hero so it's not surprising I like ichigo so much
The thing that really hooked me on Ichigo, was his relatability with his internal struggles, existentialism, and the humble approach they took with his character. The dynamic relationships he held with each character is not without depth, truly a well written character. And, to you, thank you for covering him with such respect. Especially with concerns to Spider-Man too. Excellent video. 🤘
I really relate with him being lost with his life and nothing makes that more obvious than the current anime. “His talk with his dad about his origin is more compelling than wanting to be hokage or pirate king. He just wants to be in peace with everyone when he isn’t even at peace with himself.
I do agree Ichigo is the closest anime/manga MC I have seen to Peter/Spider-man. Both of them lost their loved ones and both blame themselves for it, keeping the guilt with them for a long time, before gaining clarity on what to do with the new found powers. Ichigo is the friendly neighbor Shinigami. And I think he is my fav shounen MC (Allen close 2nd) because Spiderman is my fav superhero before reading Bleach. I do think there are differences. Especially about dual life. We don't see much drama about that in Bleach and is very understated compared to Spider-man, where Peter's identity is one of the major plotpoint. Like we never see Ichigo being worried that he won't be able to attend school and much conflicts with other characters over him skipping some event, etc.(Only time we see that with tatsuki after Orihime went to HM, other times it was never mentioned or is just played for gag). Ichigo's closest friends also kinda know about his dual identity (not all). Bleach tackles dual life/identity in a different way, which I have no issues with mind you.
In early bleach he was worried about tatsuki and his school friends finding out about his soul reaper power. Which is similiar to Peter and his spiderman powers.
I think Kubo would have played up Ichigo's dual/normal human life more, if it wasn't for the fact that his editors insisted to focus on the Shinigami's and the Soul Society. Hence, why Tatsuki didn't get the character development that Kubo admitted he wanted to do. He himself also said he wanted to focus on his other school friends but wasnt able to. It would have been so interesting to see Kubo's original ideas play out without any interference, although I too am happy with the finished product!
Now if only Spiderman got Ichigo's happy ending. Seriously, a great comparison, I was about to read Bleach! Stan Lee's legend lives on in multiple media it seems!
Love the comparison between the two characters. And love the justice you bring to the “Ichigo doesn’t have a goal” mindset that’s being roaming around the internet the past couple years
Honestly, this has given me a whole new lens to watch the show with. Thanks for the recontextualization because I needed it. I was distracted by the forest and missed the trees in front of me.
I couldn't say better than u. Ichigo is a missunderstanding Hero that doesn't need to sell like others is just what it is and I really appreciate that because this is the type of hero I like the most and Ichigo gains a lot as a Shonen protagonist being that way, in my opinion the shonen anime deserve more characters like Ichigo. With the time more people will understand this fact. Nice video man this is exactly why I was looking for since days.
This, and "The Truth About White Ichigo" are my favorite videos of yours. I've followed Ichigos journey since I was 14 years old and few things, if any, have had a similar impact on me. That said, this was a perspective I had never considered and it only makes me love Ichigo even more. Thank you.
One of the only other shonen protagonists I can think of who live a dual life is Tsuna Sawada from Katekyo Hitman Reborn. He balances his school life as well as being a mafia boss, and he also just wants to protect people he loves and cares about. Ichigo and Tsuna are definitely two of my most favorite shonen protagonists.
Ichigo was the first Anime character I connected with but it was only until the Fullbring Arc when it happened. Somehow, seeing him go through such a horrible experience made my heartache. Even though I knew that it was a shonen manga so of course, he was going to win, it wasn't enough for me to just know that it was going to happen, I WANTED to see him WIN NOW. Waiting week after week for the conclusion was unbearable, I needed to see him come back from that nightmare, which is why I harbored so much resentment and anger, not just for Ginjo and Tsukishima but also the Shinigami who could not pick a worse time to intervene and save him, and the nerve Rukia had to criticize him for having a moment of weakness when he was sure that no one would come to save him. There are a lot of Anime Protagonists I like but none of them have made me feel any real concern for them like I do with Ichigo, and coincidentally, or perhaps by chance, Spider-Man is the only Comic book character I've ever cared for so it's all crystal clear now.
This is why bleach and ichigo is my favorite oat in animanga. That’s why I’m still here that’s why I still want to protect and be a genuine and humble human being. He’s honestly my icon. I love your videos man. You go in depth and it’s so relaxing and makes you think.
I believe Ichigo and Yusuke are rather different. Sure Ichigo got into fights with thugs, but Ichigo and Yusuke had completely different upbringings. Ichigo had a loving supportive family and Yusuke had a slut for a mom. Ichigo was an honor student similar to Peter, while Yusuke was a flunky. The world of Bleach impacted Ichigo to where he wanted to protect others all came from his mother's death in contrast to Yusuke.
Personally, Ichigo reminds me more of Superman, in the sense that he's one of the most powerful characters in his own verse, so the issue usually isn't about being strong enough, but rather doing the right thing and showing up in time to save who he needs to. At the beginning of the series, Kubo even draws a parallel between both, while Ichigo still refused to protect random people that he doesn't know of, but by the end of the series you can see a definitive progression in his character, to the point he was even willing to help his previous enemies, the Arrancars. Either way, I think what made me interested in Ichigo (and Bleach as a whole) is this similarity to western superheroes' idea of the duty to protect the innocent, whereas a lot of other anime MCs just have a form of selfish goal, and just help people along the way.
@@Soul.Resonant Well, like Naruto wanting to become the hokage, for example. Yes, it's less selfish when you discover that the reason he wants that is because he was abandoned by the leaf village, but it's still his biggest motivator. I'd say Ichigo has something even greather than a goal, he has a PURPOSE. He's the protector, because that's what only he can do, and what he was born for. There's no ulterior motives to that, it's just the right thing to do.
@@Soul.Resonant Yes, it grows, but you can still see it's his main goal. Like when he tells Sasuke something among the lines of "how can someone become hokage if he can't even save a friend?". It really isn't that selfish anymore, but you also can't say it's selfless.
It's very strange. I LOVE Spider-Man in fact he is my all time favorite comic book character. Never thought about I how similar Ichigo and Peter are til even looking at the thumbnail.
I'll let you know what I think. I think that Flame has one of the most soothing voices for video essays. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your uploads!
I find myself… conflicted with this analogy. While it’s certainly an interesting comparison and even valid in some instances, there is a severe disconnect that I can’t ignore. Yes it is true that Ichigo has the burden of a dual life unlike any other shonen protag, that’s hardly ever really a… high point or struggle with the character. Unlike Peter, you never see Ichigo have regular day struggles like keeping secrets from his friends or failing his classes. Being a Soul Reaper does not hinder his personal life in literally any way like Spiderman hinders Peter’s. 1. He’s the cool brooding guy that all the girls like. 2. Literally all of his friends know about his dual life, removing any sign of struggle. 3. His dad is also a Soul Reaper and is 100% aware of Ichigo’s actions and supports him Like I appreciate that Ichigo DOES have a regular city and home to go to much like you and I, but that’s about it. And again, he’s an ultimate cool guy delinquent either way. It’s very hard to find that relatable compared to Peter Parker who DOES have real life ambitions such as becoming a scientist but also mundane struggles and problems completely separate to his alter ego such as girlfriends and classes. That’s not to say Ichigo still isn’t a compelling character with his humble nature and touch of humanity, but his “dual life” is certainly not why. I don’t find the guy relatable for all the things I listed above, but I do find him enjoyable and a treat to watch.
I am glad you said this because I fell the same way. Ichigo is compelling but not for the reasons other people say. Many in the Bleach community conflate Ichigo's character, I think, in order to prove that he is better than other Shounen protagonists. Ichigo is a child who was traumatized by the death of his mother, which led to an unhealthy mindset of feeling like he is the only person that can protect those closest to him, when not accepting help himself.
It’s crazy to see Ichigo’s character getting all this love now when a few years back there use to be multiple UA-cam videos about his character “having no goals or drive”.
Thank you for making a video compiling the argument I've been making for almost two decades. I'm gonna share this as much as I can, because honestly, you did a great job.
I don't know why but there's something special in flame of rebirth mr tamomo simo urahara dbzirman they all and amazing and goats but for me flame of rebirth has something special the way he explains the kubology with beautiful music and his clam with manners and respect brother we are lucky to have such great person like you in the fandom
Ichigo has always had my back so seeing as I’m connected through this character that would make Ichigo & I as one you could say i’m the real life Ichigo because everything i’ve seen in Bleach has always knew me more than i knew myself the real me Ichigo & i have alot in common
I realized this few months ago when I watched the arancar arc, and I was so happy when I watched your dangai ichigo video I think it was where you said this too This was such a cool parallel of sorts, cuz both are also strong as shit from the start but their limitations are their psyche
I am being serious and genuine. I think this is the best video on the internet about Ichigo no contest. It is simple and straight forward with an analogy everyone will understand that will instantly help them understand a massive part of Ichigo's character.
😢 I love these analysis and I would say Superman suffers from the same dilemma. Thank you bro for always sharing with us viewers we appreciate your effort 🙏🏾
Tsukashima NTR Orihime is Basically Paul & MJ All-over Again, All that's Left is just Make Orihime Think She said " I Love You, Tsukashima " Before Leaving for Hueco Mundo and we're all set.
Look Ichigo, and by extension Bleach, helped crystallize the foundation of my morals when i look back on things. If i have the ability to help, i have the responsibility to help.
I mean he watched his mom died in his arms , nearly lost the rest of his family the same way ulqiorra made him feel too weak to protect the ones he love, if he didnt return from dangai the time that he did aizen wouldve speared his friends and family and spread the around karakura town, the entire fullbring arc cuases him to lose faith in those he trust's the most,1st invasion is self explanitory and finally ywach litteraly broke him so I'd say he's the best we got
I've never thought about connecting Ichigo to Peter, but now that's it's happened, I will never be able to unsee it...thank you 😂 I will treasure this memory. Spiderman is my favorite hero, and now I know why I loved Ichigo so much lol
Two of my favorite characters in their respective genre. Behind these bestowed powers they are still trying to find their footing as people which is something that is not shown often in stories
exactly, striving to be the best pirate, the best ninja is not relatable only a small portion of the society strive to be the best athlete of a certain sport etc. but most people strive to balance different aspects of their lives, and figuring out who they are plus, his goal has always been clear - to protect others, so I don't get why some people don't see it as his goal, as his reason for unlocking his powers and fighting, the idea that a goal is not a real goal if it's not a selfish goal it's some twisted mentality and I side-eye people who think that
Damn, this video made me realise how cool it would be to have a Bleach game in the style of Persona 5😊. Another thing that I think adds to this idea is how Ichigo’s “inner demon” is handled. Most of the time, it involves two entirely separate characters sharing one body. Naruto and Kurama are two different characters sharing one body. Yugi and Atem are two different characters sharing one body. Yuji and Sukuna are two different characters sharing one body. White Ichigo/Zangetsu on the other hand is simply a manifestation of Ichigo’s hollow side as well as his zanpakuto spirit and a representation of his base instincts. And Old Man Zangetsu is a manifestation of Ichigo’s Quincy powers. White Zangetsu and Old Man Zangetsu are not separate characters from Ichigo that just so happen to share the same body as him. They are simply extensions of Ichigo himself.
Friendly Neighborhood Soul Reaper, hell yeah! It's sad but also funny how often the "he has no goal" BS comes off. By all metrics Ichigo's goals should be more obvious and relatable. Yet by large it's not. People latch on to external motivations easier than internal. It's easier to grasp an objective, a rank an item or whatever to check on your to-do or bucket list, then something internal, a principle to to live up to. Maybe this says something about the superficality of the avarage joe. How much consumerism, the next status, the next dopamine hit poisoned modern society. A bunch of hollows walking in human skin. Yet they can't fathom a lesson really close to the heart of the human condition, since they don't bother to look in the mirror and try to understand and challenge the person in the mirror to strive for greater highs. They did not even bother to ask the name of their blade. While Kubology PhD gang smiles and screams from the top of our lungs: THE BLADE IS ME One cheeky nitpick tho: you picked the wrong Spider-Man for your brilliant analogy Professor Rebirth. Ichigo Kurosaki is anime's Miles Morales since Peter Parker was already taken by Yusuke Urameshi of Yuu Yuu Hakusho.
Bro, if only some people were not so stupid, then they would understand & appreciate Ichigo. Ichigo is kind, honest, good, selfless, caring, has good morals. And is kooooooooooollllll 🔥👍🙏
Shonen having so many goal oriented protagonist makes Ichigo such a complex foil. I used to be perplexed about Ichigo's "simple" protection goal until TYBW manga. Ichigo's narrative is actually so realistic and well presented.
I always compared these 2 a lot, they are so similar kind, selfless, try to save people from their fatal fates without thinking of himself or if they are going to die
I never got into Bleach. I didn't care for the pacing, or how inconsequential the main character's friends seemed to really be. But this video helped me understand and respect Bleach a lot more.
While he does have a dual life it doesn’t really seem to have a impact like Spider-Man, Ichigo doesn’t seem to struggle with school, friends, or family with his secret, Spider-Man almost always is facing consequences due to his life he can’t keep a job keep friends keep ppl from dying due to his life for Ichigo either he’s family and friends already know or it doesn’t effect them it has nowhere near the same effect
There are obviously different focuses. But Ichigo, like Spiderman, has accepted a role that he did not welcome for the good of complete strangers in need. And he also faces many hardships because of it.
I love Ichigo so much, he literally just wants to protect those he cares about. Or really a protector in general, he has a beautiful heart. And that’s so true he is one of the few protagonists who had a dual life, he’s Ichigo Kurosaki teenage human, and Ichigo Kurosaki soul reaper
If your arguing hes very human, yeah he is. But beyond the relatability of their everyman aspects, dont really see it. Ichigos ultimately rather "self sentered" he has his own little world and he cares a great deal and will do most anything for it, and when bad things come into it he'll stop them see the chad incident and the ghost with flowers. But beyond that its not his problem, some soul reapers became a part of his world and balooned the problems that threatened it. Spiderman puts the weight of the world on his shoulders and pays countless personal cost for complete strangers. Ichigo is in a way *more* human than peter, hes just a good guy, peter is often closer to a type of paragon.
I think you are wrong about that. Mostly because Peter Parker didn't want to Spider-Man, unlike Ichigo who wanted to be a Soul Reaper. When Spider-Man he was glad didn't have to deal with the responsibility of fighting crime. Heck, he gave his costume to Ben Reily his clone Spider-Man. He wanted to focus on being a father and he was excited about that. Mostly because being Spider-Man is painful, suffering, and loss. Spider-Man has been tortured, drugged, burned alive, watched his loved one die, had his body stolen, and gone through constant hell from the Green Goblin. Combine the fact that he is always poor and struggles with hardships afterward. You can't compare Ichigo who doesn't worry about relationship problems, money problems, or time problems. To Ichigo, there are downsides to being a soul to the point that he wants to quit. Heck Ichigo is scared of fighting an antagonist simply because of his massive Spiritual Pressure. That a different for Spider-Man because he fought Morlan who is the most powerful Spider-man villain. He was so powerful that he punched harder than the Hulk. Spider-man knows he can't because "it's Math nobody wins forever". But He never gave up on trying to do the right thing regardless if he died. I hate people who other teenage superhumans compare Spider-Man without fully understanding why Spider-Man is unique compared to other characters.
Well, it's never going to be one-to-one, and they are quite different if you look below the surface (especially considering that there's so many iterations of Spiderman and only one Ichigo). Still, I believe a number of significant similarities can be drawn up between them, on the surface at least.
I think he's both anime's Spiderman AND Superman He's Spiderman for the reasons you mentioned but also Supes due to his power and effectively being a "Big Black Boy scout"
That's why i love ichigo, and also what makes me like Tsuna from KHR, both are different but relatable in similar ways, the duo life is also a thing, Tsuna doesn't want to be a Mafia Boss but at the same time he wants to be one, just like Ichigo not wanting to be a Shinigami but at the same time he wants power to protect. The difference is that Tsuna is a "good for nothing" while Ichigo is a "delinquent", both want a peaceful life with their friends and families, both are truly the one of the most relatable characters of anime in my opinion.
Sometimes it’s nice just to have a character who is a teenager who doesn’t know what he wants out of life and he eventually finds it and then the goal ends up being simplistic or a massive goal. I like both. I remember as a teenager flip flopping about what I wanted to do and who I was. I found Naruto and Luffy not relatable at all and didn’t like them as a result as a teen. Somehow as a 12 year old and 15 year old they knew who they were and what goals they wanted. Then I found Ichigo and I felt like I could relate to him aside from Shoujo anime (I’m a girl so makes sense I’d relate to slice of life stuff with what girls get up too). Ichigo was the first time in fiction I found a boy I can relate too. Edward Elric came after and I loved these two. Ichigo and Edward are quite similar cuz both don’t have massive goal. Their goal just involves protecting family and fixing people’s problems and then going home to their wives cooking and retiring once that’s done. Both don’t have a massive goal. Rukia and Renji are the ones who have goals of becoming captain. Roy mustang is the one who wants to be in charge of the country. Ed and Ichigo being done with their serious business are just chilling at home at the end of both series. Spiderman was always relatable and liked because he was a flip flopper as a teen and eventually found out who he was and had a simplistic goal in life. He actually did crime in comics. Uncle Ben dying wasn’t the only wake up call for him, but it was a big impact. He tried helping people, but did crime for money on the side. It was a bunch of smalls steps on top of Ben that caused his complete change
Very nice video, yeah i also can relate to ichigo more than the characters like luffy, naruto, natsu, etc. The fact is we can't just say that wow I want to be this and start our journey like ash Ketchum , we have family expectations too and we have to balance out that with our dreams That day to day struggle, make choices and sacrifices gives meaning to our life I first thought deku is like spiderman in season 1 and 2 bcoz he had to look after his family his mom but that changed in season 3 of mha
It's definitely a connection I made a while ago. Still, this video provided a number of good insights I never would've thought. I really got into Spiderman as a character because he was similar to Ichigo. I also suppose that the idea of Spiderman having a double life while protecting people is what made me stay with Bleach to the very end.
Aizen in his final form to Ichigo Aizen: "I created you. You created me." Rukia: "Ichigo, why did you create that guy?" Ichigo: "I didn't! He's talking crazy!"
Ichigo has always been the most human out of them all and I mean his actions feelings etc I love all anime but this anime ichigo and everything in it will be in my heart and head untill i die mugetus theme when he shows up in front of Aizen had been playing in my head for like 10 years
Yeah, pretty much. I'd agree with the video title's statement. Ichigo is Anime Spider-Man. They follow similar character progression and plot beats, so yeah.
The similarities between ichigo and spidey is the whole “never wanted to be hero but duty calls vibe” it’s like when ichigo had to choose between letting the kid die in the park in early bleach or Spider-Man before uncle Ben died. Their roles shift when “with great powers come with great responsibility”
You can definitely relate to Luffy in the things he's been through and his quest in pirate king can be related to getting good at something or mastering yourself.
Ichigo could easily decide one day he wanted to be head captain and start training to achieve that goal, but his instincts won't let him sit idly by while someone is in trouble. Ichigo is the closest to a traditional DC Superhero that we get in popular Shonen manga.
the funny thing is that in an interview, Kubo himself said he doesn't think of Ichigo as a "hero". which i think is accurate. he is heroic, absolutely. but whenever he becomes a Soul Reaper (becomes "Spider-Man", in this analogy), he does not take on an alternative name, nor wear his Hollow Mask. he only puts on the mask when he needs the power boost it provides. so even while living his other life as a "superhero", of sorts. he's still himself. he's still Ichigo Kurosaki. he's not, like, "Shinigami-Man". or "Hollow-Man". or whatever. he's just, Ichigo. in that way, he's a lot more like Superman. but again, he isn't strictly a hero either. he truly is unique. which makes him polarizing. you either love Ichigo or you hate him. there isn't a lot of room for middle ground.
Ichigo is a truly humble human hero despite his epic power. He fights to protect and save, then returns home to his normal life to let it resume while asking for nothing in return. Well maybe not so peaceful with he's son but holy shit does Ichigo have one hell of a prodigy of a son
I always related more with Ichigo out of the big 3 because he felt the most down to earth and realistic one.
Truth. That humbleness is what makes him who he is alongside his willingness to do the right thing regardless. Even a monster like Tokinada, who comes from a world that's the blood soaked opposite, actually praised him for his selfless heroism.
I agree and despite me liking Naruto a bit more I actually relate more with Ichigo.
I agree 💯💯

Ichigo reminds me a lot of Yusuke from Yu Yu, that’s why I always liked his story.
@@KylePhantomK94 just at the basics, they are similar to me. They are obviously different if you break it down.
Kubo has extremely interesting takes on what makes a hero.
What other MCs?
Only one I can really think of is Luffy since he outright admits it
@@Soul.Resonant Well, like Naruto wanting to become the hokage, for example.
@@lknight9104But Naruto's goal of Hokage grows over time, you can see that throughout the series until its realized in his talk with Nagato
@@Soul.Resonant Yes, it grows, but you can still see it's his main goal.
Like when he tells Sasuke something among the lines of "how can someone become hokage if he can't even save a friend?". It really isn't that selfish anymore, but you also can't say it's selfless.
I absolutely love the perspective you gave, the comparison is practically spot on and I never really made the connection.
3. His dad is also a Soul Reaper and is 100% aware of Ichigo’s actions and supports him
Like I appreciate that Ichigo DOES have a regular city and home to go to much like you and I, but that’s about it.
I realized this few months ago when I watched the arancar arc, and I was so happy when I watched your dangai ichigo video I think it was where you said this too
This was such a cool parallel of sorts, cuz both are also strong as shit from the start but their limitations are their psyche
I am being serious and genuine. I think this is the best video on the internet about Ichigo no contest. It is simple and straight forward with an analogy everyone will understand that will instantly help them understand a massive part of Ichigo's character.
Great video man! I’ve always related to Ichigo more than the other shonen characters. I’m glad others see him like me
😢 I love these analysis and I would say Superman suffers from the same dilemma. Thank you bro for always sharing with us viewers we appreciate your effort 🙏🏾
Goat!
@@flameofrebirth101 Keep up the good work. 👍
Tsukashima NTR Orihime is Basically Paul & MJ
All-over Again,
All that's Left is just Make Orihime Think She said
" I Love You, Tsukashima "
Before Leaving for Hueco Mundo and we're all set.
Ichigo has a child and family with orihime sir learn to read💀💀💀
Look Ichigo, and by extension Bleach, helped crystallize the foundation of my morals when i look back on things.
If i have the ability to help, i have the responsibility to help.
Nice
Bro doesn't suffer enough to be compared to spider-man...
I can't wait for Ichigo to be in the next installment of Spider-verse💀
exactly, striving to be the best pirate, the best ninja is not relatable
only a small portion of the society strive to be the best athlete of a certain sport etc.
but most people strive to balance different aspects of their lives, and figuring out who they are
plus, his goal has always been clear - to protect others, so I don't get why some people don't see it as his goal, as his reason for unlocking his powers and fighting, the idea that a goal is not a real goal if it's not a selfish goal it's some twisted mentality and I side-eye people who think that
Ichigo and Spiderman have more in common than with the other mcs
Soul Society and its presentation is much more poignant in presenting certain feelings of reality. Awesome video, I really like the unique concept
While Kubology PhD gang smiles and screams from the top of our lungs:
THE
BLADE
IS
ME
One cheeky nitpick tho: you picked the wrong Spider-Man for your brilliant analogy Professor Rebirth. Ichigo Kurosaki is anime's Miles Morales since Peter Parker was already taken by Yusuke Urameshi of Yuu Yuu Hakusho.
Great video Flame! It’s dope to see your enthusiasm runs consistent within all social platforms!🙏
man you are just right 💯💯
well said my man well said.the parallel is very uncanny with Ichigo & Peter Parker
I'm going to share this video to all the bleach haters who says ichigo has no goals. Nice job got yourself a subscriber
Excellent Video!!! I'm glad you're getting much deserved attention for this.
Amazing video imma finish bleach now
I never thought of Ichigo's character like that but absolutely am now, thanks for that. This was beautifully done.
Great video. I respect the love for the TASM films too!
Ichigo is someone I can relate to every single day. I love him so much for it !!!
Finally someone with a platform spreads this truth! Instant Sub to your channel!
This is Immaculate bro
While he does have a dual life it doesn’t really seem to have a impact like Spider-Man, Ichigo doesn’t seem to struggle with school, friends, or family with his secret, Spider-Man almost always is facing consequences due to his life he can’t keep a job keep friends keep ppl from dying due to his life for Ichigo either he’s family and friends already know or it doesn’t effect them it has nowhere near the same effect
Thank you someone else see it Spiderman takes so many Ls just for trying to do his best ichigo hasn't even scratch the surface when it comes to that
There are obviously different focuses. But Ichigo, like Spiderman, has accepted a role that he did not welcome for the good of complete strangers in need. And he also faces many hardships because of it.
Bruh this was so well done I want you to do the same with other anime characters comparison to comic characters
W video😊 bro always love video about ichigo
Great video as per usual + massive respect for using Andrew Garfield Peter. He's my favorite from the movies even though other 2 are awesome too
I love Ichigo so much, he literally just wants to protect those he cares about. Or really a protector in general, he has a beautiful heart. And that’s so true he is one of the few protagonists who had a dual life, he’s Ichigo Kurosaki teenage human, and Ichigo Kurosaki soul reaper
finally someone who made a video on this. ive always searching for one. ichigo is the equivalent to spiderman in anime
Beautiful video
Dude loves hearing his voice. Mans gave like 12 examples when 2 was good enough buddy. Love the vid tho
I think he's both anime's Spiderman AND Superman
He's Spiderman for the reasons you mentioned but also Supes due to his power and effectively being a "Big Black Boy scout"
Loved it
Ichigo is by far my favorite B3 Protag....though I am a Rukia stan through and through, I REALLY like Ichigo
AND THE NEW SPIDERMAN GAME IS VOICED BY ICHIGO!!!!! 😂
A great video! TY Very heartfelt.
The fact is we can't just say that wow I want to be this and start our journey like ash Ketchum , we have family expectations too and we have to balance out that with our dreams
That day to day struggle, make choices and sacrifices gives meaning to our life
I first thought deku is like spiderman in season 1 and 2 bcoz he had to look after his family his mom but that changed in season 3 of mha
I really think that Ichigo is spiderman just by watching this video. I love spider man but to compare them to each makes me happy so thanks you
It's definitely a connection I made a while ago. Still, this video provided a number of good insights I never would've thought. I really got into Spiderman as a character because he was similar to Ichigo. I also suppose that the idea of Spiderman having a double life while protecting people is what made me stay with Bleach to the very end.
Yes! This needs to be more wildly known and accepted.
bro Gohan in Majin Buu Saga
Yeah but for like ten episodes
Aizen in his final form to Ichigo
Aizen: "I created you. You created me."
Rukia: "Ichigo, why did you create that guy?"
Ichigo: "I didn't!
Their roles shift when “with great powers come with great responsibility”
nice choice of song, my favorite album from them in fact
for those who are curious, the song is all in vain from within temptation
A apt comparison if there ever was one 👏
WWWW amazing video wow , how did this go under radar is like wow
Amazing as usual
Criminally Overlooked fact about ichigo damn
Yep, i have been saying for a while, and im happy this video exist more people need to understand this as an easy way to understand Ichigo.
Ichigo
The god who chooses to be a guardian angel
Awesome video!!
Ichigo is the closest to a traditional DC Superhero that we get in popular Shonen manga.
the funny thing is that in an interview, Kubo himself said he doesn't think of Ichigo as a "hero". which i think is accurate. he is heroic, absolutely. but whenever he becomes a Soul Reaper (becomes "Spider-Man", in this analogy), he does not take on an alternative name, nor wear his Hollow Mask. he only puts on the mask when he needs the power boost it provides.
so even while living his other life as a "superhero", of sorts. he's still himself. he's still Ichigo Kurosaki. he's not, like, "Shinigami-Man". or "Hollow-Man". or whatever. he's just, Ichigo. in that way, he's a lot more like Superman. but again, he isn't strictly a hero either. he truly is unique. which makes him polarizing. you either love Ichigo or you hate him. there isn't a lot of room for middle ground.
great video man I hope you and Jaymes do more livestreams in the future
"Ichigo cant go and be a shinigami and try to become head captain "
I mean, it would be verrrryyy nice to see him try
