The 911e was the best of the 3 models in my opinion by a wide margin. The "s" (at least as delivered when new) was so peaky so that it felt slow unless you drove it really hard. The "t" was down on power compared to the other 2. The "e" was perfect, fast with great drivability. I think a lot of "s" cars today have been tuned to be more drivable, but from the factory they weren't that fun to drive on the road. See Car & Driver magazine's period test of all 4 versions (912 & 911 t/e/s) -- the "e" was faster 0-60 than the "s" (but I think the "s" was faster to 100mph IIRC).
As a former 911/S owner I can share your point,as long as we're talking about the 2200 engined series. The following 2400 cc. engine in S version was superlative in all respects and the gap with the E tuned unit was truly remarkable. Since then ,60/70es, driving condition and habits have been changing dramatically.... Most of gt cars users being mostly focused on top performance with little or no interest in torque range or fuel consumption back then (here in Italy).
Don't feel bad I sold mine in 1979 to move from NY to Oakland for 2100.00. It had some surface rust and needed work on the self leveling suspension...but ouch. Lol
Perfect color, perfect car, perfect video. And the interior is outrageously perfect too. Thanks. RickGTI
Daniel Schmitt & Co. has this same color but in a 2.2 S ! Gorgeous Perfect Porsche - I got to see it in person!
Fantastic Car !!

That hurts, yes. But hey...if you were able to predict everything life would be boring too...
Can’t you just envision Steve McQueen driving that car ?!
My dream car!
What do you think the prize for this car would be?
I really want to buy one of those!
