It's an outdated mechanic and offers no counterplay to the opposing side because you can't predict nor react to a 0.01s "redirect" that does a ton of damage and hard CCs you for ~1.5s. Especially in Gragas/Jarvan's case, since knockups can't be reduced by tenacity. Edit: It's made even worse in Gragas case because Gragas' dash is the highest priority ability in the entire game. His dash trumps any other form of dash.

Before they made any teammate last hitting a minion drop my balloon item/summoner spell, I couldn't cry and say "I don't have all of my w, has an advantage." She was designed to be a mid laner, I've just been playing her support for years (with solid success of over 70% WR even with teammates inting just by seeing the pick). With the changes to W I don't have to start the tank support item to get my balloon drops if my ADC can actually last hit. That bit of mana regen I get from the AP mage item I'm now able to get also lets me contribute more to the lane. I also couldn't use the argument of "I'm missing a third of my spells outside all ins" as an excuse after making mistakes that snowball very easily into an immobile squishy mage that will 100% be giga camped regardless of being ahead or behind while never getting a gank despite having great setup and all-in.

Aatrox on paper is not better than Gragas, but he's a nightmare match up even for top Gragas players and i don't even need to include Orn.

Idk about hardest to master.... Shaco is literally a point and click champion. Gragas mechanically is harder than most champs because of 3 skill shots and his ult shoots them in a wild direction if you get the angle even slightly off. Gragas is easier top lane than shaco though. But that's because the champion has sustain to fix mistakes. .. and shaco isn't made to be a top lane champ. 'Mechanically' It's harder than shaco though.
Because that's the only good thing he can do outside of one shot combos that most mage champs do. He's a bad tank since his only consistently reliable CC is his E and his only good scaling is his HP and AP. His W is strong, but is useless if you don't get in auto range, but it's horrible to approach any champs in a game as a Gragas if you don't have your E ready, because most champs now have multiple pokes compared to Gragas that only has his Q as a poke, or just outright beat him in a duel. For example, champs like Aatrox and Renekton that both has a decent armor and mr scaling only needs merc threads to force Gragas to only stand in the back and seep EXP. Levels are horrible for Gragas, because most of his skills are heavily reliable at items to be really good, and most Gragas players rely on outsmarting their match ups and using their tower to win 1v1.
Try playing shaco top and you'll see how hard it us. I would know since I was one of the first ones to take him top a lot years ago during the games inception except I never played as AP I was AD. Nowadays it's even worse because everything has a gap closer, true damage, executes etc. It's practically unplayable. Hell I had even recently came back, played against a kayle top lane, still about equaled her CS and killed her twice. Didn't matter because Shaco is a horrid champ that Phreak hates with a passion so he's always nerfed into the dirt.

Probably not, dude’s in-game success is tied to absolutely not trading on even terms ever. Getting autoed by Gragas requires him to either give that up or make an incredibly simple spacing error on a more mobile champ.

Shaco is literally a point and click champion. Gragas mechanically is harder than most champs because of 3 skill shots and his ult shoots them in a wild direction if you get the angle even slightly off.
Gragas is easier top lane than shaco though. But that's because the champion has sustain to fix mistakes.

Never understood why Gragas has so low cooldowns,basically all his abilities are pretty strong so why be able to spam so much?
Because that's the only good thing he can do outside of one shot combos that most mage champs do. He's a bad tank since his only consistently reliable CC is his E and his only good scaling is his HP and AP. His W is strong, but is useless if you don't get in auto range, but it's horrible to approach any champs in a game as a Gragas if you don't have your E ready, because most champs now have multiple pokes compared to Gragas that only has his Q as a poke, or just outright beat him in a duel. For example, champs like Aatrox and Renekton that both has a decent armor and mr scaling only needs merc threads to force Gragas to only stand in the back and seep EXP. Levels are horrible for Gragas, because most of his skills are heavily reliable at items to be really good, and most Gragas players rely on outsmarting their match ups and using their tower to win 1v1.
TLDR: don't let Gragas CS by using champs like Aatrox and Renekton and freeze the wave because Gragas is bad without items.

Calling shaco top brainless isn’t exactly right. It’s terrible. Pulling it off takes some kind of brain power.
Try playing shaco top and you'll see how hard it us. I would know since I was one of the first ones to take him top a lot years ago during the games inception except I never played as AP I was AD. Nowadays it's even worse because everything has a gap closer, true damage, executes etc. It's practically unplayable. Hell I had even recently came back, played against a kayle top lane, still about equaled her CS and killed her twice. Didn't matter because Shaco is a horrid champ that Phreak hates with a passion so he's always nerfed into the dirt.

cant blame pink ward for raging so often, dude plays ap shaco in the top lane, despite his skill he really can't win against people who don't interact with him. Also, shaco can't farm for shit, you kill a box and it will make him lose a bunch of cs, and it doesn't have enough damage to poke someone out of lane unless you really want to interact with him.

The bad clicks look stupid but only lost one aa of damage. Also, he timed his e to be right before Jayce was able to aa again, so the downtime of Jayce auto was longer than had he stunned right after Jayce attacked. Also, Lissandra showed up
Conq only full power at full stacks, and by the time Jayce got full conq, lissan came.
