Hi friends, there is no investment recommendation nor any endorsement in this video. This is merely a documentation of what I experienced in this trip. Also please note that the dim sum place is located in Taman Pelangi and not Taman Sentosa
My Singaporean friend goes to JB a few times a week to get petrol. Every time I visit Singapore, I always go with him to JB because I love eating curry fish head at Kam Long. So good!
I have people around me to go into JB every week. Petrol pump, family grocery shop. I actually passed by Kam Long in this trip but one person eating curry fish head is too much for me, so I give it a pass.
Dear uncle, the teochew style fish porridge is also yummy. The chicken & mutton soup are hainanese style. Please tell your friend, the river that you saw often rises n sometimes overflow during rainy season. Would like to correct you - from JB CIQ to Pandan if traffic is good you can reach in 25mins. Not 45mins as claimed.
@@piggymag168 thank you, I have just drop a note to my friend about the river. I will let him see how he plan to do this. Thanks for letting us know that, And also on the fish porridge. No one knows better than the local :) as for the 45 mins. I have taken the distance between Woodlands checkpoint to Pandan on the particular instance when I make the video. I go back to the map again it seems there is a traffic congestion at the Causeway through the road after City Square
Dear uncle, the dim sum shop u went is NOT Taman Sentosa. You were in Jalan Maju, Taman Maju Jaya. Next to Plaza Pelangi. We Locals call it "newspaper street" as all major newspaper company set up their office there. There is Nanyang siang pau next to Kar Kar Dimsum (one of the worst place for dimsum). Taman Sentosa is 5-10 mins away depending on traffic situation. Google will tell you the truth. The "Southkey" real name is MID VALLEY SOUTHKEY. Anyway, thank you for making this video of my hometown.
apologies... the dim sum place is kak kak Restaurant as you pointed out. It is an error on my part to point that to Taman Sentosa. I will put it as a correction on my pinned comment. As for Southkey, also bear with that as well. I try to research as much as I could before putting up this video. But as I have not stayed long enough in JB for last many years , mistakes do happen. Of cos its not excuse not to do proper due diligence .
For me, I value time more important than comfort and all things else. So personally I take SBS buses (170X etc) than the CW buses. The queue can be long it seems. But the good thing is that the frequency is fast and more options. Of cos you have to prepare to jump into queues which is empty and that the buses might be packed like sardine. For me, it is just getting to JB fast. Nothing else matter to me when I am in that madness
definitely not. Now the kopi at the coffeeshop is already selling up to 3 RM. Guess if 1RM to 1SGD, that means the same kopi in Malaysia would then cost 3 SGD.
Yes and no... It is generally very safe to walk around, I do walk quite a distance in this trip alone. But I advise people to be vigilant and you must let people see you are. Like holding your bag while walking on road. That will give any crook a deterrent effect
@@raymondwan-k4w I have walked along the street from Taman Pelangi all the way back to CIQ Johor Bahru during day time. It is quite alright when one is vigilant. Nevertheless, I will encourage taking taxi because places to places are not near.
thanks for the feedback. I have gotten similar feedback from some friends as well. As I do not have a good mic so the purpose of the background music. Let me evaluate it and make some changes.
that is my sentiment also. There is various opportunity cost going over, like time and effort going through the land borders. These needed to be considered other than exchange rate

A big airport to explore!
thanks for watching! :)
Many happy endings massage spas in jb. Can enjoy without fear of being raised like in sg
you talk like an old bird 😁
Nice travel guide video fv
thanks :)
May I know from Singapore which are the faster buses to reach JB checkpoint .

I'm wondering. IF the currency exchange is RM1 = S$1, will Singaporeans still visit JB so enthusiastically?
definitely not. Now the kopi at the coffeeshop is already selling up to 3 RM. Guess if 1RM to 1SGD, that means the same kopi in Malaysia would then cost 3 SGD.
Malaysia boleh lah 👍✌️🙏
best destination to go for many people
May i have the address of the dm sum coffee shop?
Thanks
Address for Restaurant Kak Kak is 9, Jalan Maju, Taman Maju Jaya, 80400 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Have a good meal there :)
Is JB dangerous? My Singaporean friends are worry about being mugged when in JB. They tell me to stay in the car when getting petrol. lol
Yes and no... It is generally very safe to walk around, I do walk quite a distance in this trip alone. But I advise people to be vigilant and you must let people see you are. Like holding your bag while walking on road. That will give any crook a deterrent effect
50% discount on petrol, foods, duty free spirits, massages, hookers, golf , bat kut tei, curry fish head, car wash, fake watches n bags
I like the way you put it. As I do not drive, so I am sort of limited by the options made available to me. 😁
@@UncleGo take taxi ..jb is mexico rio grande...2 escape poverty...

The background music is irritating and adds no value to an otherwise wonderful video.
thanks for the feedback. I have gotten similar feedback from some friends as well. As I do not have a good mic so the purpose of the background music. Let me evaluate it and make some changes.
I would support Singapore businesses rather than going over the causeway because of the exchange rate!
that is my sentiment also. There is various opportunity cost going over, like time and effort going through the land borders. These needed to be considered other than exchange rate
