    DID U CONNECT ALL LIGHTS ONTO 1 PLUG OF THE HOUSE??

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Місяць тому +1

      @reyesjose214 - Yes, you can plug several runs of 18/2 gauge Christmas light line into one plug, but you need to be cautious about the total power draw to avoid overloading the circuit. Make sure the combined wattage of all the light runs does not exceed the maximum wattage rating of the plug or extension cord you're using. Also, using a properly rated multi-tap adapter or power strip that can handle the total load safely is essential. You can find the smart timer we used here, along with a few other options: www.christmasdesigners.com/installation-essentials/electrical-supplies/timers.html

    Don’t use Lowe’s and homedop?

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Місяць тому

      @Faji9r - While some hardware stores may offer decent quality lights, many of their products are retail-grade and designed for short-term use. For a truly professional display that lasts, we always recommend going with a provider that specializes in pro-grade lights trusted by the pros-like Christmas Designers. (We might be a little biased, but we think we’re the best choice!)

    Would you recommend C9 or C7 for home installation of a driveway and around flower beds? I guess C9 is better, but when trying to minimize the budget is there any reason not to do C7?

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Рік тому +1

      Hey there, very good question! We actually recommend the C9 for perimeter lighting because the bulb is larger and can be seen from further away. However, if C7 is more in your budget, then there is nothing wrong with that option. It depends on your personal preference and budget.

    Your link to the 4.6 universal light stake is not what you are using in the video. In the video you are just setting the light in and twisting whereas the stake in the link you have to manipulate the cord down through the clip. I would like to get the exact kind that you first show in the video. Do you have a link to that?

      I apologize for the confusion. It looks like we are no longer carrying that exact same stake from a year ago when this video was released. We do have a variety of different stakes to chose from.

    Did you use cool or warm lights? Are bright lights considered cool lights?

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  2 роки тому +1

      We used warm white lights in this video.
      When someone refers to a cool light, it's generally a cool white bulb color. There are three types of white LEDs, warm white (slight yellow tint, closest to incandescent), pure white (no visible color), and cool white (slight blue hue).

    Do they have a way to keep the mini lights off the ground

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  2 місяці тому

      @debishults2737, the All-In-One stakes would work for holding the mini lights. Those can be found here in a couple of different lengths: www.christmasdesigners.com/installation-essentials/light-stakes.html

    What if I have like 60 feet. Do I buy the 50 and a 25? Or a 100?

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Місяць тому

      @d.rogers4184 - One thing to consider is how accurate your measurement is. Adding a couple of feet as buffer is wise, especially if it’s difficult to measure accurately. Depending on your layout and measurement, you may have a small amount of extra cord if you go with the 50’ and the 25’. If you anticipate needing additional light line in the future to add to your project, the 100-foot kit is the better value.

    • @d.rogers4184

      @@ChristmasDesigners Whats the answer to my second question?

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Місяць тому

      @@d.rogers4184 - The 100' kit includes 4 male and 4 female slide-on plugs, which should allow you to create multiple separate sections if needed. However, depending on how many sections you plan to create and the lengths you’ll be cutting, you might need additional plugs beyond what’s included. Yes, you can use any leftover light line elsewhere, but you may need more plugs depending on your set up. Hope this helps!

    Don’t these just get buried in snow? Genuine question as I’d love to do something like this but don’t want all the lights under the snow

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Рік тому

      Yes, unfortunately in areas of frequent snow, stake lighting can be difficult to use. Using the longer stakes, which are 15", can help if it's smaller amounts of snow. But in areas that have significant snowfall, we do not recommend stake lighting. Throughout the south it's a popular form of Christmas lighting, but you don't see many applications with it in northern states within the US.

    The issue I have found is that the newer LED lights don't have flat bottom sockets. So they won't stand up straight in these kinds of stakes

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Рік тому

      It sounds like you are using a stringer style light set which is not the same as a truly Pro application empty socket light line that professionals use. Below is a link to the product on our website. These have flat socket bottoms and the cord can be cut to exact lengths. If the light set has two or three wires coming out of the bottom of the light set socket, those are not the best lights to use for stake lighting and roofline perimeter lighting applications.

    what if your grass is frozen? bucket of hot water? thats what i try to do- our ground froze early this year in idaho- it hasn't been really soft since like right after halloween

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  2 роки тому

      Dealing with a frozen ground can complicate things a little and hot water typically doesn't seep into the ground deep enough or fast enough to help.
      We recommend buying an auger drill bit and attach it to a battery operated drill. The bit should be approximately the same size as the width of the stake. This will allow you to drill into the ground and then easily slide the stake into the hole. These bits can be purchased at your local hardware store.

    The 4-inch stakes that you're linking out to dont seem to be the 4-inch stakes youre using in the video. These stakes are much more effort to get on, needing to fold the cord down into the slots.

    • @ChristmasDesigners
      @ChristmasDesigners  Місяць тому

      @angelamarcelun - Thank you for your comment! The 4-inch stakes we're linking to are indeed the same ones used in the video. As demonstrated, Jason inserts the light and with a simple twist, the cord is tucked into the slots. It might take a bit of practice initially, but once you get the hang of it, the process becomes quick and straightforward. We appreciate your feedback and hope this helps!

      @@ChristmasDesigners Yeah, I'm sorry, I just ordered a bunch of them for myself and they aren't the simple twist kind. With the stakes linked, you have to fold the cords down toward the ground and they (the cords) clip in vertically. Hard to tell in the image on the site since it's pointed away from the camera. I truly wish I had gotten the simple twist kind, but I don't see those anywhere on your site. (Mind you, this is all fine, they worked and the project turned out really well! As one reviewer said on the product, they are an extremely secure fit because of how you need to wedge the cords down into it.) Thank you for helping us make our house look professionally lit!
