Selling is of zero interest for me because of the hassle the describe. But I have all kinds of frags I’d like to trade or even just give away. Great video. I am just not one of those guys that can run a business, respect to those who can!
If you're in o.c I'd love to have some :0) new to salt been fresh all my life
I was enjoying that, bummer it cut out
Great hearing more from Jen!!!
This is my favorite video from BRS in the last year! Great info from Jen and Randy!
It’s important to keep track of what you have purchased vs sold. Like any business, you need to understand it to this level.
I thought jens advice was super helpful and I love hearing the perspective of a retail operator. good shit BRS 🤝
Jen is an ispiration for all women reefers out there! Great to hear from her and why isnt there more of us? I think women are in it for the beautiful underwater gardens we can create and men are more in it for the gear! Haha. If only my hubby had more interest! i am sure I would be more successful. I run my tanks bare bones. I don t
have an auto dosers or even and ato because I don to know how to hook all that stuff up and my hubby is so busy and his addiction is his rock band! I am a certified shopping/coral junkie! LOL. I just blew about 3k in frags and did the same thing last may! haha. I over did it and some delivered held dead that spread toxins and wiped out 2 tanks so now I am doing it again! haha. A little slower and mostly all shrooms and zoas so much safer! So far so good!
I have an advanced acrylics frag tank! It’s a pretty tank. The edges and corners look nice too
You guys are great I learned alot , had my reef tank, 9 months
I've bought from Ty out of the back of his car and seen the corals that end up at Pats! Small world
Jen is spot on. Stop being so greedy!!! Too many people are trying to turn their minor side hustle into their full time gig to make thousands to support their wants n desires. You’re just gonna push people out of the hobby or like me stick to the classics/cheaper corals and you’ll be left frustrated and broke.
Great videos as always. Have you guys ever considered putting videos of customers or viewers tanks and give suggestions to them?
Check out our Thomas reacts videos!
Please make a guide for proper techniques or what tools to use for cutting different corals. IE best tool for cutting Acros, hammers, favia, Gonis etc. that would be super helpful.
To me it's all about breaking even. I can enjoy something that sustains itself.
Due to increases in prices after Covid it definitely can. Hammers and Torches have gone 5X in price increases from 5 years ago.
Definitely can but a lot of mishaps can happen. Brown jelly, smashing skeletons when trying to frag the thin walls , etc. Not to mention, you need to be a good location and ideally okay with strangers coming to your home.
Easiest in my mind would be selling bubble tips. Can force reproduction and naturally they do pretty quickly.
I take a RBTA to my LFS at least twice a year for a little store credit! Great investment
I bought 2, I have 13 lol. They get to 7-8 inches and split. I gave 2 to a friend of mine, and I have another that wants a tank soon so I’ll give him a few as well. I love nems, I plan on having my 40 breeder be over an by them with some hammer/frogspawn and acans at the bottom
Sweet hoodie Randy
Great combination and information! I just started a Frag tank my self #BRSREEFPACK
I’m 16 and I’ve just got into the hobby and I see so many corals I want but every thing is like 60 and up
Check to see if you have a frag swap in your area. Lots of great corals, some for $20 or less in most cases!
I’m broke, I grow out nems and corals and trade them. Plan on taking a bunch to a lfs or something for some credit, I want a big meat coral
Euphyllia are good candidates for growing. They grow fast, don't need low nutrient water and easy to frag and command good prices.
How many heads per week do you think a healthy colony should produce?
@@samc2649 What metric is that and what metric can you apply to any coral. No coral grows fast where you can count heads per week. I see new heads in my hammer colony every few weeks and it takes months for them to grow to a frag size.
Well I guess they lost connection 😅
thought it was just me. Think they are talking to the void :P
I used to have the nicest lawn on the block and I start growing corals too now I have no lawn no corals no time
I swear I'm not to blame for the stream ending early! LOL
(BRS was answering my question when in cut out.)
you could because there so many coral out there that has not be discover yet i talking thousands of new coral , yes you could make money on this side to make end meat
Greetings Randy and Jen. Thanks for your videos. Sorry to bother you. Randy wrote you a few days ago on R2R, to see if you could help me, but I understand that you are busy. First I would like to know if you still use the same settings for Radion G5 Blue from when they made the blues video. And if possible that they share a template with which they have had good results. I have a 125g mixed tank, 72 "wide x 22.5" high x 18 deep. I know it's a little late after posting, but I wanted to test with your setup on my blue Radion G5 to see if it works better for me. I have 2 x30 blues in the corners and 2 x15 blues in the center, all with diffuser, they are currently 12 "above the water level and 8" more or less apart from each other. I would like to know some configuration with good results, to test as soon as I get the Par meter that I bought yesterday from you. I don't know if both white and red 100% hurt the corals. I would appreciate if you could get help with this please. I'm not good at setting up these lights. And if you could share your template please?. Thank.
What’s the name of your store Jen. I just got into salt water and my tank is cycling and I’d like to support your business.
Her store is New Wave Aquaria in Minnesota! One of the best in the nation from what I hear :D
Im hoping i can be self sufficient, not coral, inverts, fish. but media, salt, food, bulbs etc.just the general maintenance
Short answer. No. Lol. For real atleast around me in southern California it's too competitive
Little town in South Dakota….how dare you sir. 😉
video seems to end after 48 mins.
Little tech glitch, but hopefully everyone enjoyed up until that part 😅
I find it bizarre that BRS who pride them selves in their streaming content haven't added a comment here or in the description or on their Facebook to say oops, sorry about the cut out, stuff happens. See full, or at least a wrap up here '"insert link". I hope they are all OK?. I was really enjoying ithe stream, its my Friday morning ritual now and want to see where the discussion went, usually Randy doesn't get to lead the conversation much and it was good to hear more about his background.
Sorry about that! We had a bit of a technical problem that didn't capture the end of the video.
Sure, if you start selling 1" Acro frags for $200 and rip people off in the process.
Exactly! So many ripping people off. $400 for an Acro? Crazy
I have 25 rose bubble tip from them splitting. How do you go about selling? They have taken over my tank! Thank you!
R u in Michigan by chance? I’ll buy them all.

I have always found my LFS is happy to take mine when I get too many as they sell well!

Anyone know what Jens fish store is called?

What happened to the end of the video?
We had a bit of a technical issue towards the end. Sorry about that!
Weird she started as a maintenance company. I can’t even get a call back or an answer of how to care for a animal I bought from her.
Predatory names for a predatory price. In Texas, this would be considered a 'deceptive practice' per the deceptive practices act.
randy,i have ora pearlberry.i can send u a frag
Me too please, I’m happy to trade
The answer is NO, you will not make a profit on these animanls anymore. Too many hands in the cookie jar and not enough cookies to go around.
Can you mention her Instagram pls 🙏🏼
