Cubs would be a sleeper pick for atrade. Alzolay has blown a few leads in the 9th and have top 5 farm with OF prospects and no where to put them.
I’m a Cubs fan, and wouldn’t be too surprised if they wanted him, but I don’t see the A’s continuing to intentionally tank. They’ve already accomplished their task by being so bad that they don’t have to play in Oakland anymore. My sleeper trade pick is Garret Crochet. Yes, he’s a starter now, but I see him as an Andrew Miller type. Alternating every day between Garret Crochet and Ben Brown as two and three inning closers. Co-closers, in other words

Why would you hold on to a closer if your team is not a contender...his value is literally to close games and get you the win...if you aren't winning his value is greatly diminished...now if you wanna make him a starter...ok maybe

Pushing betting too much. Its one thing to have an AD, but to it sounds like you're telling people its a smart thing to do. It's not. Get your own bag, but don't do it at the expense of your fans. Have an AD for betUS, just give it as an option and don't tell people to go and place these awful bets. It's stupid or scummy, either way do better

Holliday, Mayo and Basallo are probably untouchable but I would trade Kjerstad and anyone else from O's farm system for Miller.
Player decisions should be based on timelines, windows to compete. Are the A's in a window to compete right now? In 3 years? In 5 years? If the answer is no, then what is the value in holding on to someone like Mason Miller, as good as he is? Holding on to a player just because he's really good doesn't help your team if the remainder of the pieces aren't in place. If you're going to keep him go for it, buy, build around him. Whatever the decision, don't half-ass it. Either be committed to buying or committed to selling.

Pages and Stone? That’s absurd. A current #3 quality starter and a ROY candidate for a reliever? An accurate trade proposal would be Rushing, Frasso and De Paula

Why? He’s been tremendously more effective in short stints and in the closer role.
As a dodger fan I wouldn’t make that deal. Pages is doing pretty damn good in the majors batting over 300 finally starting to walk as well and consistently getting into deep counts while playing average to above average defense with a good arm. He seems like a future all star in the making. I would love to see mason miller on the dodgers but it just doesn’t seem realistically possible yet. Maybe next year they would trade Frasso and Vargas for him but for now pages needs to be out of trade talks.

@@redprimewolf890 Nick Frasso is #2 dodger prospect and a top flight pitching prospect all together who could’ve been in the majors this year. Miguel Vargas is destroying AAA and still holds value pretty highly as a prospects. Think Michael Busch trade this off-season. It’s not a crazy assumptions for that deal to be a reasonable offer.
yankee fan here, they have closer holmes 17 ip - with 0.00 era...miller is great so they dont need him now. but if they did. i hate to see yanks top propestcs spencer jones ( 6 foot 5, lefty) and or jason d go.... i dont think the yanks are doing that

They are, it's the Oakland A's baseball way lol unfortunately. Miller having a hell of a year, but same time its only a matter of time before the league starts to pick up on his stuff, league adjusting to him
Dodgers would be fools to give up pages and stone for a guy bound to get TJ... i want miller to stay healthy but there's no way he can throw that hard for an extended period of time without getting hurt :/
good point. If(when) he needs TJ in a couple of years then his value drops significantly. I'd trade him this year if I were them.
Cubs should package Caissie, Alcantra, and Gray. Maybe even add in Ben Brown if it takes it plus some low end toss ins like Cuas.
Ben Brown might end up being just as effective as Miller.

You do realize how good Mason Miller is, right? And he will most likely be a starter down the road. It’s crazy you say a bullpen piece when I clearly said a million times he could be a starter later on.

I think the A’s will deal him for a fat haul. If it doesn’t materialize, they’ll wait til the offseason.
Hopefully they are never going to trade mason miller because it is the brightest spot of the team winning but there owner likes losing than winning.

Matzek is getting older and may not be himself again, minter is getting older, and Iglesias contract is up. We will need a new closer so I would love AA to get get him but Miller may be to pricy. The Braves offense is set and our only needs are SP and Bullpen and looking at our prospects, I wouldn’t give up AJSS, Waldrep, Murphy, Schwellenbach, Lara, Alvarez, perdomo, kuehler, hackenberg or Baldwin. So it may be difficult. I know all those players may not sty on the Braves but so much potential with these players.
You trade him unless you can turn him into a good starter. No position in baseball is more volatile than a reliever.
O's should pony up: Kremer, McDermott, and Stowers for Miller

I'd actually trade Mason Miller because a deadline of trading Paul Blackburn Brent Rooker and Mason Miller along with the 4th overall pick in the MLB draft while it may not be the sexy move long term could give the A's an elite farm system that could keep them competitive for 5-10 years.
