Rutland Water 5km (not)parkrun. Not running the parkrun course but exploring instead-it's stunning!

It's half term and that means we have more time to explore and have running adventures! Usually it would be when we are parkrun touring further afield but with no parkrun then (not)parkrun is the next best thing!
After our planned family holiday to the Peak District was cancelled (due to extensive water damage at the property we had booked), we booked whatever we could find in a hurry. We got lucky and stayed in a fantastic cottage in Irnham. On Saturday we came to Rutland Water to explore... what a place to run! The reservoir is so big that it takes your breath away each time you find yourself at the waters edge. The scale and the beauty are incredible and running there a real privilege.
Rutland Water is an awesome place. It's so big with so much to do that we will definitely be back! Hopefully next time we will get to check out Rutland Water parkrun. We actually returned the following day for junior parkrun where Poppy finished 5th overall and was 1st female! She was so happy and it was a big PB so great running from her.

Definitely, I was surprised just how beautiful it was! An awesome place to run but also to cycle (I cycled all 20+ miles the next day and loved that too) or swim at the waterpark or head out in a boat! Such a brilliant place! 💛

My family and I live near Rutland Water and this has reminded me how lucky we are to be able to run and walk around it!

Wow! It's lovely. Views like that are food for the soul. Oh my, that was a little tricky to navigate. Don't forget your sunscreen. I wonder what was eating that tree?? "You don't go, you won't know". I'm knicking that saying 😁😁😁 Thank you for sharing these. I needed this video today 😊😊😊

Lol I'm pleased you like the phrase, super cheesy but so true! I'd definitely recommend Rutland Water as a place to visit and make at least a weekend of it as there's so much to see and do! Hope you're doing okay 🤗
