Great video. It would be really good if you could do a setup and programming video for the Lowrance HDS Live / new Pro like what Joclyn Leung did with the Simrad.
We did the setup programming video about 2 years ago. It's on our UA-cam page. The HDS Pro/ Live/ Carbon are all the same. They all run the exact same operation system. We will do a HDS Pro when we can get our hands on them here in Canada
In your other video you mentioned that this is compatible with Elite 9 FS, This one says Elite TI or TI2. I am trying to choose my next ice fishing electronics and leaning towards elite 9 FS.
The units that are compatible doing this type of thing are basically anything that has built in bluetooth/wifi. Elite FS, HDS and Ti2. I would lean towards Elite FS, newer more future proof, compatible with active Target. More features, and same OS as HDS system. Just not as networkable via Ethernet cables.
@@hookedntravel thanks for the reply, I do have 1 more question, the HDS 9 and Elite FS 9 are the same price here now at cabelas. I want to pick up the elite fs 9 explorer activetarget pkg but I can get the pkg without the fs9 and get the HDS 9. Which one would you lean towards? As you said maybe the FS 9 would have more capable updates? The big thing is i would like to hook it up to the TV in Ice shack. My buddy has the garmin livescope system but cant hookup to a TV.
@@skawttyr7549 which HDS is it that’s on sale? The HDS carbon and Elite FS have the same processors in them. But the HDS live if that’s one sale is better as that’s more processors and more networkable. You’d be happier in the long run with the ability to upgrade, and network with newer units if you ever get more. More options in the future. The HDS PRO just came out so I doubt it would be on sale. FS or HDS will be able to hook up to TV. But between the Elite and HDS series being equal in prices, then the HDS for sure if it’s a LIVE
@@hookedntravel Sorry for late response, The HDS 9 Live is on sale here for 1329.98. I am going to pick it up today. Thanks again I really enjoy your channel!
Lowrance - NO! HDMI port is "IN" only. Simrad - Yes with nss evo 2/3, has HDMI "IN/OUT" {NSS evo2/3 can drive any HDMI display. However, the output resolution from NSS evo2/3 will be the same as the Native display resolution of the MFD.}@@hookedntravel
@@psouth1720 in that case you would have to use the iPhone or iPad. You’re also paying an extra 1000$ for a simrad unit. So the features will probably reflect that price
sometimes its the aspect ratio of the iPad or iPhone and its orientation. Some screen's only allow certain aspect ration's. Happens with alot of screen and content. It all depends how the content matches up with the screen.
thats a great idea for my fish hut. Gonna try hooking it up!
Spot on!👊🏻🇺🇸

I have old HDS 8 & 10, Gen 2. Can they connect to WiFi?
no they cannot. I believe its Ten 3 and newer
Can you connect the two without have to use a phone or ipad?
with the HDS 12's, I believe the live and Pro's has an HDMI in the back.

so they create this option but it does not fit a full screen properly?
are you talking about fitment inside the screen with bars on the outside of the picture like widescreen vs fullscreen type of image?
i am talking about when you view the image it does not size to a large screen@@hookedntravel
@@hookedntravel meant full screen as in the whole screen...not a wide screen view.
