Hey Jerome! Where in Florida? I really like these and have a bunch of Ports I’ve been wanting to do a forest with as well. What is the nursery ? Thank you. You could PM me on Facebook if that’s easier? Kevin Gondola
Hi Jerome! Perfect timing for this video, ive been rooting a dozen or so PA cuttings which I plan to plant into a regrowth forest planting with really tight growth. I love the far left crooked tree, it makes a great contrast to the other trees in the planting!
Wow! Yeah, I ‘m new in the game, though years ago I did begin, haven’t done anything till now, but I was unaware you could/should tie them. Thanks a lot for this training.
wow awesome job Jerome. I love the way you styled this portulacaria forest.. I have several tiny rooted cuttings of portulacaria afra (about 6 months old).. what would you typically recommend? Do you let them grow bigger first before putting them into a forest setting or just plant them together to form a forest?
Hi! Yes, I fertilize everything I grow every 30 days during the growing season. This is what I use: www.amazon.com/Bonsai-Fertilizer-Tons-Nutrients-Health/dp/B07K3RV66F/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=bonsai+fertilizer&qid=1629733931&sr=8-11
Perfect video about Portulacaria afra. I wonder if I put 5 to 6 P. afra together if they would grow together as one, like ficuses. Have you ever tried something like this? Well thank you!
Awesome job, Jerome! Being a newby to bonsai, I appreciate your content. I have been rooting some dwarf jade to create a forest of my own! Thank you for the inspiration! Enjoy your day!

Hi Elizabeth! I do not have a video with dwarf variegated Jades as they are much harder to come by. You can treat your variegated dwarf jade the the exact same way.

Hey Daniel, I always try to leave a bit of the original soil when I repot a bonsai. In the next potting I will remove the remainder of the original soil.I probably left 10% of the original soil on these trees.

I have a really big question, I just bought a very cheap dwarf jade bonsai (twin informal upright) that is wired, how do I know when to take the wire out?
I once again thought Jerome is wrong about the front of the main tree. Then I got more negative and thought this isnt going to be a good looking forest. Once again youve proved me wrong Jerome. Why did I even doubt Perfect
TIP for everybody. Don't waste all that time picking and racking the root ball. Just grab it by the trunk and smash it against a rock or the ground. Shake off the soil maybe a little rake through and done. Now trim roots.
Nice Jerome, a fantastic composition, do you sell the plastic pots?

How's your forest jade Nigel.
I'm glad you're able to acknowledge that Mari is the boss. 😉It definitely has a forest feel to it, very nice.
Ohh you know it Michael! lol!
This looks really cool! Mari's idea was perfect. I like how one tree is just off by itself.
Thank you ! Mari mostly has great ideas.LOL!
learn something new everytime you post a video!
Glad to hear that!
I love this! I have a bunch of small baby jades at home and here in a few years I hope to do something similar!
Thank you Richard! Dwarf Jades are awesome candidates for propagating and forest creations.

Jerome you did well editing this video to 10 mins! Always love the videos, thanks mate!
I’ll be back in 5 years for the update! This looks nice!
Don't wait that long! There will be plenty of updates and videos of this Jade forest before that.

Very nicely arranged forest Jerome, loved it👌
Thank you Mangesh!
Well done Mari 👍

Turned out great. Thank goodness you landed your wife. She’s seems to be the brains and the beauty of this operation.
Thank you Ed! She is the brains, but I thought I was the beauty?!😂
Great outcome,very informative!

I love this forest! Where did the pot come from?
Thank you Julie!! I got the pot from a local Bonsai Nursery in Florida, called Dragon Tree. Unfortunately, they don't ship.

Where did you get that large rectangular training pot.

I would plant them together already! The more time they have to grow, the better the root spread will look.
Hi Jerome - do you fertilise your jade to get them that big? They’re huge!

Hey Ricardo, wait until the wire starts to dig into the branches and then remove them. Thinner wire bites in first.

If I may… from the front the 4 main trees are spaced too evenly. Doesn’t look very natural
