I'm not even sure I'd say this is the heaviest song on the album when Given Up exists on this album. It's weird because outside of a few songs, this album is really soft by LP standards but there are a few really heavy songs
Yeah, this is easily the heaviest song of Minutes To Midnight. The rest of the album from here on out trends a mix of softer stuff with alt-rock. And after this song, Linkin Park wouldn't get heavy again until The Hunting Party, which is basically an album of songs even heavier than No More Sorrow. So if you liked this, you'll probably like that album (which is very underappreciated, honestly). This is also my favourite from MtM.
Minutes To Midnight was also their first dive into political stuff. It came out in 2007, towards the tail end of the Bush Administration, and with Hands Held High and No More Sorrow being back-to-back... yeah, that should tell you how Linkin Park felt about him.
EDIT: I don't know if you're planning to go through the rest of their discography (that'd be pretty rad), but their next album, A Thousand Suns, is a concept album about nuclear armageddon, and is VERY different from anything they recorded before or since. I'd recommend listening to the whole thing in one go if at all possible, because the album was definitely designed to be listened to as a whole (all the tracks flow together, some "songs" are literally just speeches or transitions).
Agreed.. ATS is so beautiful when you listen to it in one take
So fucking true
I'd say given up is heavier
@@hre2stay Honestly, I find it's mostly the bridge of Given Up that goes super heavy, whereas No More Sorrow is heavy the entire way through. Without that bridge and the scream, I'd put Given Up maybe around on par with their Hybrid Theory stuff in terms of heaviness, maybe even a bit lower.
Yeah, it's true that you should hear ATS as a whole but it'll be hard doing a reaction video to the entire album all in one take. All the songs flow so nicely, but some can be skipped, like the speeches..
Shout out to Rob Bourdon on this track! Great reaction 🔥
I'm so looking forward to your The Little Things Give You Away reaction. Their best song in my opinion \m/
The slowest song but yet the most beautiful..
I absolutely love this song
Totally agreed.
Best singer in metal/rock...ever
He’s got the craziest voice
Except Dio was still alive in 2007, so until his death I think he was the best
A good live version of this song is in 2011 at the iTunes Festival. Mike actually controls the crowd was just his guitar. It is very cool to see.
In 2011 at the iTunes Festival Chester does a cover of Adele's song Rolling in the Deep with just Mike playing the piano with him. It is definitely a different side to Chester.
This is one of their heaviest, but not the heaviest lol. Just wait until you get to their sixth album and then you'll hear some really heavy shit. There are three politically-driven songs on this album: Hands Held High, No More Sorrow, and The Little Things Give You Away. This is the heaviest sounding of the three, Hands Held High being a little more hip-hop ish, and the The Little Things Give You Away is just a mastepiece in it's own right lol. I can't wait for you to get through this album! Will you be reacting to the other 4 albums too?
If you think that's heavy, you need to listen to 'war' from the hunting party.
Check out some of there live shows they sound amazing there song qwerty is great.
Yeah you need to check out the song QWERTY, it was a song that did not make the album but it’s so good. There are 2 versions, the live is the best but the studio version is really good too. Maybe check them out after this album.
Brad Delson (them lead guitarist) is using here an E-Bow which is just a guitar effect you're using to hold the notes you're gonna play at the right time. Also, Mike Shinoda is doing high-pichted background vocals on the verses, and then lower-pitched backing vocals on the choruses
Minutes to Midnight is my favorite album so its almost impossible for me to make a top 5 lol
Qwerty is probably their heaviest song... based on Chester's voice alone. Check out a live version if you're gonna react to it
The fact that LP can release such different albums is one of the things I adore the most about them!
You want heavy LP? React to The Hunting Party album by them, it's their heaviest album. Please give it a shot.
I was waiting for you to be like “never mind” and physically lol’d once you acknowledged it
One of the heaviest for sure. Given Up is heavier than this given that I’ve seen people doing mosh pit in one of their live shows. 😂
I remember when they used to open their concert with this song. It was so good live.
Cheers bro, Linkin Park is legendary. Cheers
Such a good song!
React to songs from The hunting party, Linkin park just killed it there. Ur mind will be blown.
My guy check out the hunting party.my friend by far the hardest is keys to the kingdom
Have you checked out their song Qwerty? Lol
Qwerty is also from the Minutes to Midnight Era but isnt actually on the album. QWERTY live at Summer Sonic 2006 is insane.
@@xiteow I didn't know where it came from, just figured it was a B side to one of the older albums. But IMO it's the heaviest song I can think of by them.
Disturbed One It was a song they were working on for the album. It didn’t make it because they were trying out new sounds and it sounded to similar to Hybrid Theory. It’s a damn good song and I wish it was on the album.
Man definitely check out QWERTY it didn’t make Minutes to Midnight but it is just as heavy as this if not heavier, you would love that.
Also yes this album is where Mike is starting to do more of the background vocals and even lead vocals on a few songs.
From Minutes to Midnight onwards the albums all have their own sounds and it might not all be for you but I’m hoping you can appreciate it all tbh.
Sounds like its a studio version into live performance no sound video combined. React to no more sorrow live in london itunes live 2011 performance. It got extended intro. So cool
I love that gloomy intro
I think the extended intro ruins the song
@@martinbabich1920 Mike uses the extended intro to control the crowd. He uses the guitar to get the audience to start clapping at the temple he wants for the song.
Rest In Peace Brother
Teeheeheeee yeah I was snickering pretty good when you thought it was a ballad. Yeah buddy, not so much, eh? 😄😉😋
yup Godsmack's still around
Yo dan you have got to check out the new Sixx am song with Corey Taylor Brantley Gilbert joe Elliot Tommy Vext AWOLNATION and slash called maybe it’s time it’s so amazing and a great message for your channel and anyone who is struggling with addiction that might not wanna talk about it.
You were so wrong thinking this was a ballad haha.. Thank God for this song or else Given up would've been the only heavy song on the album... I knew you would love it. And def check out QWERTY after and also New Divide, they aren't from any LP albums..
What about Bleed it out?
@@martinbabich1920 BIO has a more rock vibe than metal and it's not that heavy, except for the screams in the bridge..
Heaviest LP song? Lol you tripping mate? Listen to Hunting Party... They made this album for people crying for heavier songs like Hybrid and Meteora album had. And they made that real fucking heavy. #LPforever
lol I have only heard, Hybrid, Meteora, and now Minutes To Midnight so far.lol
:)
With You imo is the heaviest LP song.. well LP made alot of heavy stuff but whatever
Not a ballad haha
