himalayan mountain subduction se ni bna kyu k dono plates continental hai ( indian + eurasian plates) dono plates lighter hai becausr they r continental to koi b plate ek dusre k niche ni jati aur because of compression of both the plates folding and faulting takes place ... jb subduction ni hua to no magma . when no magma ..no volcano ..

Himalaya is young , and still growing by size . This means convergence is still going on between the plates . Now if convergent areas DEFINE the probable volcano areas and if Indian eurasian plates are moving , THEN WHY YOU SAID HIMALAYA HAS NO ACTIVE VOLCANOS ?
u must see wht kind of convergence s goin'on beneath himalayas ...ds s nt usual convergence of oceanic nd continental plates ...beneath himalayas convergence s taking place between two continental plates .both eurasian and indian plates are continental ..so both r lighter plates . since no subduction s taking place due to dere lighter nature ....no magma coming out ..hence no volcanoes

Sir why Himalayan mountains not have any active volcano
because Himalayas are the result of a continental-continental plate collision. continental plates are less dense thus they do not get pulled inside the surface to create magma. instead they lift up to create high mountain ranges.

Bcz perfect subduction does not take place in Himalayan region
As both the Eurasian and Indo-Australian plates are continental plates so it results in the thickening of crust -which does not allow magma to come out

Sir does continental-continental plates convergence subduction causes distortion in the magma portion.
continental plates r lighter and hence neither of d two plates subducts beneath other plate due to which only folding and faulting takes place and both plates push each other in upward direction forming mountains .......since no subduction ..no pressure ...no upward movement of magma ...hence no volcanoes in himalayan region
Yess no distortion takes place in continent continent convergence abduction takes place i.e denser plate slide beneath lighter plate same happnes in Himalayas the Indian plate is moving towards Eurasian plate & Indian plate is denser due to which abduction happens but as there is no subduction hence the crust doubles up & that's why Himalayas are so high & due to this thick crust we don't have volcanoes
