Turkana South MP James Lomenen escaped death by a whisker after armed bandits today interrupted a peace meeting at Nakwamoru village along the border of Turkana and West Pokot Counties.
The MP was later to preside over an exercise to handover stolen livestock that had been recovered on different banditry incidents along the border to both Turkana and Pokot victims.
Mr. Lomenen said that trouble started when an armed bandit from Pokot community stormed the meeting from a nearby thicket claiming that no Pokot livestock can be handed over to Turkana unless his 20 goats which had been stolen from him last year were returned.
