Hi.. This is a masterclass how to convey emotion through singing and it was beautiful. About her singing skills, I guess you don't know her music, because Mrs Lara Fabian is among the best singers in the world, her belts and ressonasnce are unmatch by anyone. Like your reaction, it was sincere. Greetings from Portugal.
Lara is one of the best vocalists in the world. Songs like “ Requiem pour un fou” , “Adagio “ and many others will make that clear to you. Of course nobody performs a song like she does.
Thank you very much for reacting to the songs of the wonderful Diva Lara. For about 2 years many reactors on the planet are finally discovering and appreciating her. It's great !!!! In this tv show recorded in Canada in 2000 (Lara with love), you will be able to discover her greatest successes: Caruso, adagio, you'r not from here, perdere l'amor, broken vow ... but also: Nue 2002 ( Je t'aime, parce que tu pars, tango, immortelle, tout....) Un regard 9, his concerts in russia, etc ... You will not be disappointed. So, welcome to Lara's world, I hope to see you again very soon.
Lara Fabian : Pure sound experience, celestial voice, emotional impact, perfection, master of masters, beauty inside and out. Definitively one of the best of the best in the world. Thanks for your great review. Best, JG
Fun reaction. She actually is a top tier voice. Those who know technique place her with the best of the best. She has an enormous toolbox of skills and craft at her fingertips that she employs with precision to get at the emotional heart of each and every story. Her technique + her emotive/performance chops are recognized as jaw-dropping. Fluent in French, English, Italian and Spanish, she calls herself a "songwriter with a voice." The story is EVERYTHING to her. I'd love to see you react to some more of her work. Her originals in English include Adagio, Broken Vow, You're Not From Here. Her covers of the Italian songs Caruso and Pedere L'Amore are sublime. All the above from the live concert From Lara With Love. 🖖🏽
Very, very thoughtful comments. I'm so glad you came across Lara Fabian. She's not well known in the US, but worldwide she is recognized as a living legend. She is now inspiring a new crop of incredible vocalists, including the best of them, Dimash, and through them she is experiencing a resurgence in recognition.
OK, can I drop this here, might be controversial, but nevertheless: Maybe the reason why Dad_Plays_ did not recognize Lara Fabians extraordinary voice is why he would appreciate Dimash, given that I cannot stand Dimash, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey or Andrea Bocelli, they are like scratching the metal to my ears, but I will melt and cry over and over for Pavarotti, Lara Fabian and Whitney Houston. If you ask me, it has something to do with the structure of the ear, not that I know, but I just suspect. That is, Dad_Plays_ might want to check out Dimash, even if I cannot stand him for more than 30 seconds. Off key and shrill to my ears. But I believe there are more people who think otherwise.
Nice reaction!! Since no one mentioned.. Je Suis Malade is a song written and sung in 1973 by Serge Lama and composed by Alice Dona, the same year he gave it to Iolanda Christina Gigliotti better known as Dalida to sing it. This is one of the compositions that even if you feel great, you get a shock and a pain in the soul. I believe noone could deliver the desperation and pain Serge Lama wanted to express when he wrote the song better than Lara Fabian. Lara doesn't afraid to expose her heart and soul on stage and has a unique way to become the song and convey emotions, every song is a journey, this is the reason why her fans love her so much. Everybody agree that her live performances are the best version of her songs. Thank you :)
In other words she is THE greatest story teller, captivating the audience together with her!! Together she managed to take us along on her journey... thank you fir your reaction..👌🥰

I need to say, this song is insane, and you need to have something there in the soul, to can sing it like that, and making it yours, your pain, your poison, your air breath. In an interview, last years, she said about this song, that it is a way to untie herself, to realise her emotions. And you can see, there are some emotions lol Love her for her way to sing, to performance, to deliver a message. Love her through the years of singing, for her sublime voice, for her own written amazing lyrics, but i love her more, for being LARA.
Cristiana, that was possibly the most lively and interesting comment from the audience I have ever read. I have read and written a lot of comments, particularly on :Lara Fabian, who is for me the Goddess of female singing. I would like to be able to write like you myself. Why is your comment so exciting? Because just by reading your comment you can get a good idea of why this performance has such deep impact. Are you a writer? @@cristinagrinciuc2301 Well, Cristina, I like reading you because you always seem to speak for my own feelings from listening to Lara. Your way is to punch it out directly and enthusiastically and she makes you want to expressi it!. It's a good way! Also her writing and extracts from her interviews illustrate her depth as a person. Her ability to perform is also outstanding. I see many singers on YT and although I have discovered a few fine voices (like Hiba Tawaji) no other performances affect me in the way Lara's do. It seems that no-one else "connects" as directly with the audience. The Japanese reviewer of Yentl suggested it is her eyes! I don't know...maybe! Cheers!
I suggest you watch this again and observe her as the camera sweeps around the applauding crowd and focus on her up close and captures a truly honest and telling moment. That is where you will observe just how deeply she was committed to the authenticity, the truth, the very soul of the character she became in this song. No one tugs at our heart strings like Lara Fabian.
Watch through until the end - she never gets out of character - you cut it off when the words were over but the performance was not over - your comments on performance are always spot on
As a lot of people below write Lara has one of the best voices out there, she however adapts to what is needed to portray the lyrics with her whole being rather than show off her abilities..... and that is why I love her, ps. if you are to do more Lara just a pointer, always chose a live performance don´t know why but her live performances are so much better than studio stuff.
I like that dads like me and you can be unapologetically emotional with these kind of songs... our own dads couldn't... Life is so much richer when we can feel our feelings without fear...
My friend, this was recorded in 1999. She was recognized as a great performer but because partly due to her reluctance to travel she really never took advantage of her appeal and never received the acclaim she should have received. BUT, because of these you tube video's I believe she is getting the love she deserves. I'm guessing you know who Dimash is and,if you don't please listen to him. Lara has had a tremendous influence on Dimash and they are still very close today, very good friends. Congrats on a beautiful presentation. Well done.
I think you are right in saying that rare are the artists who accept to "shed" and show their vulnerability the way she does. I found it always hard to talk after such a performance as the pain is still hanging.
Another sincere review that I enjoyed watching. Hope you were happy to discover the Belgian-Italian singer who has her unique way of telling stories through songs. You pronounced my name correctly by the way. Good job. :)
Haha, thanks. I'm glad I got it right. I never planned to be listening to music on this channel let alone to be communicating with so many from different parts of the world. I'm glad I got it right. And thanks again for the support.
@@tnae Hi! I'm new to your channel and I love it so far! Your pronunciation was pretty good! You said "sui" and that's right because that "s" is mute. To say "Malade" you just need to open the "a" more. I bet that not even a native french speaker gets mad if you don't pronounce right because if you try to do so, it means that you care!
@@tnae Let me desagree: you don't need to understand the lyrics to know that she's aching in the song, but you need to understand the lyrics to know WHY and HOW she's aching! Lyrics isn't an "excuse" to sing, but a big part of a song!
Nobody laugh at you when you speak French. It is flattering for us that at least you do. Thank you ! Did I told you that I love you? You are like Lara with your emotion like she is when she sing.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Lara Fabian. What a performance. To have the same feelings, you have to listen to his original songs, ADAGIO ua-cam.com/video/jKtNuLG5jAo/v-deo.html and BROKEN VOW ua-cam.com/video/FNVR0yK8Ec8/v-deo.html Two masterpiece.
Hahah, this was hilarious. "The most impressive thing about this performance was the performance." I know, been through the same experience, probably about a hundred times. Thank you for refreshing it for me.
Brandon, I've seen your reactions of Lara's video's many times and still I like to watch them again. It's such fun to see you totally get captured by the queen's performances (as I am as well). I'm not sure I used the right words, but I'm sure you know what I mean. In all of my playlists, of every 10 songs 3 are Lara's.
I have watched this performance many times and STILL I have not read all the subs. I get lost every time too. She just puts so much feeling into those performances, that her vocal technique becomes less important, YET it is exactly her technique of changing the style constantly that creates the emotion.
Omg that would be otherworldly! I actually recently looked up her dates when I heard she was going back in tour but I’m sorry to say that I missed all her dates in Canada and there’s just no way for me to get to France 😢. But thank you. She truly is transcendent.
No need to be an expert to appreciate Lara Fabian, listen other songs from her, and you will say : yes, it's simply the best singer and the best performer in the world !
@@tnae To actually see how her fans feel for her, you gotta watch another live performance video of her song "je t'aime". Where the crowd has a big surprise for her. Believe me it is an experience to watch that video as well.
Thanks for your genuine reaction to the amazing Lara Fabian! Lara is phenomenal singer and Artist and she is absolutely unmatched as a live performer, and not only she vocally perfect, but she also is a true Queen of Emotions and no one can compare to her. This performance of «Je suis Malade» is an absolutely brilliant timeless Masterpiece of the Highest Class! In my opinion this incredible Lara’s performance is one of the very best live performances ever in the whole history of music. I have seen this performance countless times and every time Lara's voice pierces me to the very depths of my soul and brings me to trembling and tears. Lara is simply out of this world…
Fantastic reaction, we think we will keep you! Please do several more of Lara's performances, especially from the From Lara with Love concert. You may not be aware of Dimash , but he is widely believed to be the best singer in the world, and Lara is his idol. Check him out also, but be prepared!
The song I'm Sick is inspired by a real heartache of Serge Lama, the story of a long secret relationship. In 1969, the singer met Michèle Potier in Chamonix. Love is a certainty, but they are not free either: in 1968 Daisy Brun married her press secretary, she is married and the mother of a little boy. They love each other in secret for several years and promise to regain their freedoms, but Michèle hesitates and eventually flees and settles in Morocco for professional reasons. Lama is desperate, he wants to put words on his pain without succeeding, until the day he confides to his friend Alice Dona: "This story hurts me, it makes me sick". Back home, at the piano, Alice Dona composes in a few hours a melody [...], which very quickly she makes listen to the singer. It is a revelation and Serge Lama writes almost the entire text with a jet.3 He would later say, "The 80% of the song I wrote in 20 minutes is almost a shame. [...] it came out of my heart so much that I immediately felt that this song had something that others didn't have. ». The great Serge Lama...
Hi brother thanks for the awesome reaction. Lara is sensational she actually sang in the 1988 Eurovision and a lady by the name of celine dion won it. You need to react to the best singer on the planet Dimash singing “sinful passion” a song in Russian and “SOS” in French. He can sing in 12 languages and has most insane vocal range ever. You will get a lot of views and new subs
Also... it's a feature of French Chanson... perfect pitch and polish... out the window... you want to tell a story... and make feel everything good and bad... I would recommend Jacques Brel and Brassins... she obviously is inspired by Brel... check it out.
Lara is amazing! A few other artists you must react to : Dimash Kudaibergen, Angelina Jordan, Diana Ankudinova. Dimash and Lara sing a lot of the same songs, written by Igor Krutoy and they are both phenomenal; you can also hear them sing together in “Ti Amo Cosi@. Happy listening!
Hi , your analysis is so accurate, so right... She was mocked because she showed so much emotion, those people are just idiots and unempathetic.. Thanks for your reaction, you just Saw what's essential : true emotion
Are you kidding her vocals she displayed in this song is not something anyone can do and the last note that she carried so long, I don't see many of your top tier singers being able to pull it off
I like not exactly your reaction buddy, but I really love what your soul could feel when you are listening her songs… you’re very honest and I listened all your reactions on Lara Fabian and I would like you to listen GLENNIS GRACE ( Holland) and might be you’ll record your reaction on her performance and voice 🙏🙏🙏 .. my opinion that she’s reincarnation of Whitney Houston who I miss so much …
I have, yes. The reaction video is up on my Patreon now ( www.patreon.com/dad_reacts_ ). I only really have the time to put out one video a week on UA-cam so it will be a little while before it makes its way there. But thank you so much for you support and there will be more Lara Fabian in the future.

This suggestion is exciting! I will absolutely give both of them a listen. thank you so much for the suggestions and the encouragement. It means the world, sincerely.
Sir, what did you achieve as vocalist -as said, you know about performing - to tell Lara is "not a top tier" ? 🙄🙄 One of the best living female vocalists of the world. 🖖
I get a few comments about this. This was the first time I listened to Lara. The best way I can describe what I was thinking when I said that is to say that Lara is as technically perfect of a singer as I have ever heard, Lara's stage presence and performance is possibly the absolute best I've ever seen, but I made the mistake of comparing Lara's voice to other "divas" in my head. Voices like, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carrie, Kelly Clarkson, Morrisette Amon, etc. And while her technical prowess and unearthly performance abilities dwarf all these women, on a more surface level they are able to do more audibly with their voices (i.e. more range, more agility, vocal acrobatics, whistle tone, etc.). Please understand, as I said, this was the first time I listened to Lara and I was still processing the brilliance of what I had just seen. Still, in the context of what I've said here, I stand by my statement. I just said it wrong. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'll listen to a song of hers soon and be blown away by some crazy high note or vocal run. I wouldn't put anything past her.
@@tnae Thank you for clarifying, personally I figured this is what you meant. But since we're on the subject I would like to take advantage of the moment. It's natural to do comparisons, it's human. But the thing about Lara is that you quickly realize it's a mistake to try, it's apples and dark chocolate. She is not a vocal show off (not that that's a bad thing), you will not hear her do crazy runs and whistle tones. What you will hear is a brilliant use of every vocal embellishment, perfectly chosen and placed, in order to color the emotion exactly the shade she wants. I have never heard anyone who, in one song, could seamlessly employ a whisper to a growl, speak-singing to rapid fire, a vocal fry to a sigh, and even a little scat, without ever making it into an overwhelming mess. Her runs will always have a purpose, not just because she can. And of course the way she uses her breathes, breaking every rule singers are taught. She is truly like no other. Keep up the great work, I love your reactions!
@@elizabethwhite1068 could not agree more. I’m so glad I was able to explain adequately. Everything you say about her here is 100% correct and in those areas, from my experience, she had no equal. So glad to have you along for the journey with me here on the channel and I can’t waiting to hear your thoughts on the next one.
I come from Quebec. Canada. like Celine Dion and Lara Fabian who immigrated here. because here they gave her a chance and we believed in her. for me Lara is better than Celine Dion whom I also love. at worst they started at the same time as Céline. Celine hates Lara, no one knows why. for the moment I think that Lara deserves just like Céline the same Fame as Céline. Do you know that Lara speaks approximately and without accent 12 Language. That's why it's so easy for her to sing other languages. she is Dimash's lifelong idol. She comes into the character of the song as an actress. Thank you for your nice comment.♥️🤘

Master of the universe!😍
Watch through until the end - she never gets out of character - you cut it off when the words were over but the performance was not over - your comments on performance are always spot on
As a lot of people below write Lara has one of the best voices out there, she however adapts to what is needed to portray the lyrics with her whole being rather than show off her abilities..... and that is why I love her, ps. if you are to do more Lara just a pointer, always chose a live performance don´t know why but her live performances are so much better than studio stuff.
Adagio by Lara Fabian! Another great performance.
I like that dads like me and you can be unapologetically emotional with these kind of songs... our own dads couldn't... Life is so much richer when we can feel our feelings without fear...
She is best female artist and live performer.I love Lara her voice is amazing.❤
My friend, this was recorded in 1999. She was recognized as a great performer but because partly due to her reluctance to travel she really never took advantage of her appeal and never received the acclaim she should have received. BUT, because of these you tube video's I believe she is getting the love she deserves. I'm guessing you know who Dimash is and,if you don't please listen to him. Lara has had a tremendous influence on Dimash and they are still very close today, very good friends.
Congrats on a beautiful presentation. Well done.
Great vid. She is so vulnerable in this performance, I get so emotional every time I watch it even though I've seen it loads of times 😭
CRAZY LARA ...Amazing only DIMASH can give me this feeling , Thank you for this beautiful moments.Big HELLO from PARIS.
I think you are right in saying that rare are the artists who accept to "shed" and show their vulnerability the way she does. I found it always hard to talk after such a performance as the pain is still hanging.
Love your reactions to Lara ❤
Love Lara ❤

Лара божествнно прекрасная певица, музыкант. Она такая ... очень крутая и талантливая! Сама чувственность.
@@tnae Cheers from London ✌🏻
Thank you so much 🥰
I would like to forget this song and listen to it for the first time again.. and do it everyday in that way
Excellent reaction. Cool that I came upon your videos. Love your style and attention.
Thanks! Glad you’re here 😊
Welcome to the wonderful world of Lara Fabian.
Had to sub great reaction I'll let Lara see it when we go back on tour
Omg that would be otherworldly! I actually recently looked up her dates when I heard she was going back in tour but I’m sorry to say that I missed all her dates in Canada and there’s just no way for me to get to France 😢. But thank you. She truly is transcendent.

Her Caruso (in Italian) is really great.
Is there a version in other language? I just know this song sung in Italian...

No need to be an expert to appreciate Lara Fabian, listen other songs from her, and you will say : yes, it's simply the best singer and the best performer in the world !
Thanks so much for the support! It means a lot to hear from so many of you.
@@tnae To actually see how her fans feel for her, you gotta watch another live performance video of her song "je t'aime". Where the crowd has a big surprise for her. Believe me it is an experience to watch that video as well.
It's a pleasure to listen your emotional reactions........❤❤
Simply can't mentally react to a pure feeling song. 😊😊
Beautiful, beautiful. Thank you.
Lara Fabian amazing on taime Asia Kyrgyzstan ❤❤❤❤

Fantastic
Hi brother thanks for the awesome reaction. Lara is sensational she actually sang in the 1988 Eurovision and a lady by the name of celine dion won it. You need to react to the best singer on the planet Dimash singing “sinful passion” a song in Russian and “SOS” in French. He can sing in 12 languages and has most insane vocal range ever. You will get a lot of views and new subs
Masterclass 1.0.1. 💞💪
Beautiful ❤
Stunning
Also... it's a feature of French Chanson... perfect pitch and polish... out the window... you want to tell a story... and make feel everything good and bad...
Wow, thank you so much for you kind words and your support. I hope to see you in future comment threads.
Great reaction, you need to react to Adagio and Broken vow, from the same show
Are you kidding her vocals she displayed in this song is not something anyone can do and the last note that she carried so long, I don't see many of your top tier singers being able to pull it off
Tienes que reccionar a Je t'aime, también de Lara Fabian. Soberbia interpretación y sublime voz!
As you said, you need to be an expert for the music, but not for the emotion and soul xx
I recommended " El perdón " by .DIANA NAVARRO. gretings from spain
Halleluja ❤❤❤
Please react to the same song performing Tereza Kesovija live in Olympia, Paris. It would be interesting to compare.
Please, Dimash - SOS, or Sinful Passion
I like not exactly your reaction buddy, but I really love what your soul could feel when you are listening her songs… you’re very honest and I listened all your reactions on Lara Fabian and I would like you to listen GLENNIS GRACE ( Holland) and might be you’ll record your reaction on her performance and voice 🙏🙏🙏 .. my opinion that she’s reincarnation of Whitney Houston who I miss so much …
Have you listen to her song Broken vows? Amazing…
I have, yes. The reaction video is up on my Patreon now ( www.patreon.com/dad_reacts_ ). I only really have the time to put out one video a week on UA-cam so it will be a little while before it makes its way there. But thank you so much for you support and there will be more Lara Fabian in the future.
It is absolutely incredible. All of you who told me so were not wrong.

You should not have cut the video off short like that. Her trying to recover from the emotional investment in that song was something to behold.
I will definitely be more careful in the future. I'm still pretty new at this but I want to say thank you both for the support and the critique. I'm working to get better every day.

😭😭😭👍
Thank you for you lovely comment 🥰
You Welcome

A perfect example of a singer completely inhabiting the character. There is no better.

Alas you start late and then you cut the performance before its true ending . Too bad
I sort of kept hoping that I would not find you again.
Not a top tier voice. Find someone who sings this better. Please. Explore her catalog. Wow.
Sounds like a fun challenge, but I think I'll focus on more positive things.

@@ivanovicsonja3225 What are you talking about. Dalida died in 1987 ! Or maybe Google translated your message wrongly.
Anyways, "Je suis malade" was written by Serge Lama (lyrics) after his secret loved one Michèle Potier ran away from him. Then his friend Alice Dona composed the music, and the song was released in 1973 in Serge Lama album with the same name. This said the song was not popular by then, and that's when Dalida comes into play : she found the song inspiring and decided to make a cover (still in 1973), you can find one of her first versions here : ua-cam.com/video/c25miTmYzro/v-deo.html.
The fact is that Dalida made this song famous, but it was still a cover of a song completely unrelated to her.
So stop spreading misinformation :-p
