What did you use to get these drum sounds? I'm working on some 8-bit thrash covers and can get the synths to sound like this, but I can't find any drum sounds that are similar. This sounds more like you used a sampler such as Superior Drummer and downsampled/filtered them to layer under 8 bit drum sounds, is that right? I just want to be able to get mine sounding as punchy as you have here.
I just used a random drum sample that I found and imported it into famitracker. Famitracker automatically downsamples to I believe 7 bits. Depending on what daw you're using (I'm assuming you're using a daw) there might be a downsample effect you can apply to a midi drum track that might create a similar effect
