Sure and there are a lot of more. Check for example "Where were you last night" (2 versions by Anki Bagger and Nightwish) or "If you were a woman and I was a man" (again 2 versions by Bonnie Tyler and Robin Beck). Then these two and the list can go on and on.
They were both written by Desmond Child so it makes sense. He's been writing the same great hook for 35 years.

Both these songs have the same songwriter, Desmond Child, who also worked on a Bonnie Taylor song with the same progression called “If You Were a Woman (and I Was a Man).
Desmond Child did get a songwriting credit on Ava Max's song. Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora did not get a songwriting credit, however.

i have a problem where i get random songs stuck in my head, but i can rarely remember all the lyrics, so i inadvertently make mashups without much thought if they sound similar. just found the link between these, so i'm glad to see they work lol.
Speaking of inadvertent mashups, I always go from the refrain of Kings and Queens to the instrumental part of Fingers Crossed! Just can't remember how Kings and Queens continues :)

I've listened to couple of mashups, I must confess, nothing come close to this in terms of perfection. Just heard Kings & Queens a couple of minutes ago and to be honest, this is a very good song but something kept telling me Bon Jovi must have influenced this song. This mashup just satisfied my curiosity. Thanks Bon Jovi, Great song, Ava Max and fantastic mashup guys.

The only difference is Ava uses a major chord in the chorus while Bon Jovi used a minor chord.
I think they both use minor chords. I don’t hear the major in Ava song.

Actually, Desmond Child is the songwriter for both of them :) Maybe that's where the inspiration came from. But both songs are really great xx

Love this. There's a Christmas song that comes to mind that sounds like these two, though certainly not in terms of speed and rhythm. I'll have to give the old disc a listen, I believe it's about a child being born.

At work we've had WHUD playing in the background and "Kings and Queens" by Ava Max, has been playing a lot. It's been pretty much my first time listening it. It's been bugging me because I'm just sitting there like "I actually fuckin like this song" and could not think of why. I've even been singing it to myself and youtubing it. WTF mate?! Then I started thinking about it, disregarding the lyrics, and dissecting the cadence and melody of the hook. And I realized... Holy shit, this is "You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi!!! And now I can't unhear it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who came to this realization

At this point, a lot of musicians repeat what was already done because the mainstream musicians are too afraid to experiment, they have to follow a certain trend. This isn't the case for Bon Jovi or other bands of their time who were the "musical scientists".

Easy explication:
Desmond Child wrote a song “If you were a woman” for Bonnie Tyler. But he wasn’t satisfied with the success of the song, so when he started work with Bon Jovi, he brought them this song and it was completely rewritten by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Child kept a writting credit for a “Bad Name”, because he was main writer of the first version for Tyler only.
After years Child wrote a new version again for Ava Max.
It sounds like Ava Max and Bon Jovi broke up, and while Bon is still angry about it and hurling insults her way, Ava is being a girlboss about it.
