I know the video is technically music focused but it's clear the knowledge applies to building a following in general. The most straight forward stuff I've found on the subject yet and I've been looking for months!
I'm currently going to school for music, for personal reasons, and I can't wait to compare what they're telling me versus what you are. Been loving the content you've been putting out and you help keep me grounded to reality with the music industry and social media marketing. Also love the upgrade from the giant sketch pad. Much applause to you Adam.
I completely agree. I'm a sophomore Computer Info Systems major and I've decided I want to do music for a living. I've been considering music school or just majoring in Music specifically for marketing reasons. Would you recommend music school solely based on that reason? I would love to hear your opinion.
@@jahdaiycarter So, I'm going to Full Sail University for music production (though I've been doing it for 2 years already) as a way to stay consistent and push me through this plateau im having. I'm 3 months into the 29 month bachelors fast track program, and even the prerequisite classes are industry oriented. I haven't done physical production work, and I don't think that part starts for another 9 or so months (one class a month on average). I highly recommended it from my experience thus far, but I'm obviously in debt and I would recommend doing a lot of research prior. You're not guaranteed a job with a degree and you have to have other purposes for pursuing schooling, such as knowledge, peer connections, or being forced to be consistent.
Byko yea I’ve been working on finding the opportunity costs of music school. Even with the networking piece I know I don’t NEED school for it, but I feel it would still be cool to live in that environment and being surrounded by other musicians
@@jahdaiycarter As long as you're aware of the costs and what you're getting into, you're in a good direction. Just do a lot of research and whatever path you choose, pull the trigger as soon as you can and start working toward your goals.

Your comment actually hit me hard. This new music project is 3 years old & just barely released an album this year. Very intelligent way to build a fanbase in short time. Well, interact was always and still the best form of art to do it or to gain a crowd for on your side. Actually, some of us already use this formular by instinct, but Adam Ivy showed us with kind of science to reach a higher professional level. Love it bro, very dope :)
I realize that it’s just a common sense we make friends by interacting with people we meet and marketing is just a kind of making friends and giving values in a structured way!
Wow! This is amazing game you are dropping for free, so thank you for that. Not to mention, I’m not actively producing any music right now but I do have another creative business brand and I can see how this method could work for that!
Imagine doing this not just on instagram. You would gain so much traffic. But at the same time invest much more time. I think everybody should look for their individual goals when it comes to gaining fans as you mentioned. What I like very much about this video is that it's going more in depth and being therefore more valuable. Especially when you said that you don't need to put so much work and time into this method to grow the same amount of followers as you grow your fanbase, shows that you really understand what you are talking about compared to some other UA-camrs.
Couldn't agree more :) The more time you spend (wisely) the more fans you will get. And this video is truly informational, as it shows step by step what to do, how to do it, and why you should do it.
Actually, this is exactly what I was wondering! This video seems to be aimed on Instagram but I wonder if this same exercise can be applied on other social media platforms such as Facebook and or UA-cam?
@@mattakriptic On UA-cam it will take way more time, if you don't want to just skip the music you hear ;) For example if you hear something good which have like 3 minutes, that from my perspective it would be just unfair to comment on that after hearing only around 10 seconds...
I'm not into music. But this is an incredible piece of content which I think can work in any genre. Breaking it down makes it easy to understand how to put the blocks together to get more followers in actually any area. All you need to do is put in the work to get the followers via engaging with them. Thanks for this.
I am in the process of getting things together to be ab independent artist and i have found your videos super helpful. Thank you for the tips. Im looking forward to some good growth using this as a guide😁
Hi Adam, this is wonderful. Thank you so much for this information. I love how you broke the numbers down and made a process out of it that you can replicate. Also, thank you for emphasizing the importance of engaging with posts that really resonate with you even if they have nothing to do with music. I ALSO am a huge dog lover. Can anyone else relate - haha! Thanks again for all you do Adam!

I really like to have at least a bathroom in my room when I'm going somewhere :D But what you wrote reminds me that my last trip to the mountains (I love hiking in the mountains even though it is tiring) was like couple years ago. Maybe it's time? :)

Bro you had me laughing so hard when you mentioned the comments of the type 'dope post' hahahahhahahaha No bullshit guys this method works , Im on the 20days of focus challenge and its paying off! The more effort you put the better results you get Tho! Bravo @adam you are a good man!
Hey man, I really want to apply this method but I don't really get what should I write in the comments? Like normal stuff and then 20% of the people will magically come to follow me?
Thank you. I just started to do techno Music and I’m planning to keep on. First 4 songs are out. I just was putting them online and was wandering how they will be recognised now. I had no idea. You video mad it it so obvious. So cool and so simple.
This 100% works! I have gotten 200 new followers in about 2/3 weeks, the amount of followers gets bigger and bigger each day! Adam Ivy thank you so much you have the best advice ever!
Man this is so dope and practical too. Nothing fake about it, but also give you an opportunity to genuinely engaged and gain experience for your own music too. Thank you loads for this. Appreciate it.
asking people questions about their process / getting others to divulge information is always a good fall back, people usually love to talk about themselves. maybe make the question niche/targeted for who you're asking it to , but leave it open as well for someone else to be able to answer if they know the answer.
I think it's just a case of finding posts you like and then leaving a positive comment, but also an open question or friendly critique. So for example, "I like your setup! What's your favourite software/EQ to use?" or something relevant to the post. Just get out there and support people in your community 👍
Appreciate this, Adam! Question: Does this method translate the same when you have a band account, or os there a different interaction method with a band page?

CONCIDER THIS MY FIRST ACTION ADAM , THANK YOU MY FRIEND , THIS IS GOLD
Absolutely love this just stating my music career at the good old age of 26 little late but here we are, so helpful this thank you so much
26? You’re still a baby! Not late at all, it’s the perfect age to start! 🌟 🌟 🌟
Wow! This is amazing game you are dropping for free, so thank you for that. Not to mention, I’m not actively producing any music right now but I do have another creative business brand and I can see how this method could work for that!
Thanks for all the info Adam. Been following your advice for years and finally gaining some momentum 🔥
I appreciate that Caleb!
This works on tik tok too.
New to the process of building a fanbase. LETS GOO!

I haven’t started releasing music yet but as soon as I have a few good songs this will be a great way to start promoting it
Hi Adam, this is wonderful.
Yeah this guy seems like he knows what he is doing
Hopefully it'll help my account 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Dog lover as well! Hehe :)
Also I produce Techno in Berlin. I don‘t want to make money, I just want people to enjoy the music :)
This video is old be the lesson will never be played out thank you 🙏 I’m about to start today and I’ll keep you updated 💪🏾
Been doing music for 5 years, ready for some growth, thanks 😊 🙏

i have tried many many MANY spotify gurus........no one......i say NO ONE IS SOOOOOOO CONFIDENT ABOUT THEIR METHODS..........Your confidence and assertive way of speaking is making a good impact.....thanks a lot for your information
I genuinely appreciate. Thankfully I don't claim to be a Spotify guru either. Just a marketing specialist who knows what he's talking about from 10+ years of corporate experience. Lol.
I can be my own personalized type of famous, brings a whole new meaning to the word famous! Famous to me is having people hear my music and relating to it, singing my words, and giving them goosebumps. ✌ peace 💘 love and ➕ positivity. I would love to have a mentor like you!
that's such a good way of looking at it, I love that way of thinking 🙌
Well said!!
damn, in a sense i suppose we all have a chance to be famous if even one person feels that way.
I feel the same. I might never be some crazy superstar but i'd rather have 20 fans who give a shit than 2000 who don't care

Leavin actions
Am From Kenya and this guy is turning me to a Superstar
Hmmm... I'm going camping after the 20 days of focus and when I return maybe I'll try this out!
I think this is worth trying ;) And regarding camping... I really like to have at least a bathroom in my room when I'm going somewhere :D But what you wrote reminds me that my last trip to the mountains (I love hiking in the mountains even though it is tiring) was like couple years ago. Maybe it's time? :)
No phone while camping??
@@FergalNash Recharging is important :) Didn't end up able to camp though, but had a stay-cation :p
@@XEternity Do your thang. I always recommend a good hike or two :)
Wow this is great. It definitely makes me feel a lot less overwhelmed! Thank you, Adam!
My guy Adam coming through with the breakdown game plan!!! That's some good stuff! I'm going to try it out! Thank you! Should we follow those accounts who we like and comment on?
Everytime I'm trying to revamp and build my page and followers the things I look up on youtube your always in one of the suggestions & I no I'm probably one of the millions but I appreciate the free game 💯

This man is truly a marketing genius. This whole channel is one big ad for his course.
The program is only open once or twice per year. I offer it for those who are ready to go beyond the basic UA-cam stuff. Loads of free value here though. The majority of my videos have no mention of any paid offers. Either way, thanks for watching.
This Dude Is The "Gary V" of the music industry

Hello
I love this. Definitely will implement this in Q2 of this year.
Bro you had me laughing so hard when you mentioned the comments of the type 'dope post' hahahahhahahaha No bullshit guys this method works , Im on the 20days of focus challenge and its paying off! The more effort you put the better results you get Tho! Bravo @adam you are a good man!
One question, how long it took you to get your UA-cam artist account?
@@efruhiten some days??? I use Distrokid and they help you out a lot to get it fast!
Definitely going to be using this with my new channel. Started it a couple months ago
This 100% works! I have gotten 200 new followers in about 2/3 weeks, the amount of followers gets bigger and bigger each day! Adam Ivy thank you so much you have the best advice ever!

I agree, I’m applying the action right now. How has it worked for you?
You're a real reference for all of us new artists out there, thank you so much ❤️ you're one of the reasons I finally started a UA-cam channel
This helps me organizing my ideas while learning valuable things! Thank you
"I'm the guy at the party interacting with dogs", lol me too man
This was really good info!! Can’t wait to start in the morning!!
I'm not writing this comment cause I need to. It's because I want to.
Dope 🔥
Man this is so dope and practical too. Nothing fake about it, but also give you an opportunity to genuinely engaged and gain experience for your own music too. Thank you loads for this. Appreciate it.
He talks about how important it is to leave engaging comments on posts. I’m trash at starting conversations. Do you guys have any tips for that?
asking people questions about their process / getting others to divulge information is always a good fall back, people usually love to talk about themselves. maybe make the question niche/targeted for who you're asking it to , but leave it open as well for someone else to be able to answer if they know the answer.
I think it's just a case of finding posts you like and then leaving a positive comment, but also an open question or friendly critique. So for example, "I like your setup! What's your favourite software/EQ to use?" or something relevant to the post. Just get out there and support people in your community 👍
Trash at starting conversations? You just did it lol
What an absolute Gem! Will 100% be binge watching your videos and implementing things
This is so helpful! Thanks Adam 🔥🚀
Glad you liked it!
Really hope your advice works for me! Can’t wait to start this journey :)
i appreciate these videos Adam, i will implement these tactics into my videos in order to help promote artists’ music 😄
Thank you so much Adam! This is a great schedule to get on. I'm going to apply it to my brand
It’s David. I’m here guys
Hi David. We support you. Now tell us about your problems ;)
I’m really feeling your video, it’s given me ideas to use in my industry. I’m following.
Appreciate this, Adam! Question: Does this method translate the same when you have a band account, or os there a different interaction method with a band page?
I think a band page would be the same

Thanks Adam. My fanbase is growing fast because of your tips.
