Cool tip: You have to have atleast one troop in all your regions so if you go with 7 vs 6 you will end up with one troop for 2 regions thus you will lose that battle. Thus it is good to conserve troops & have more in important places if for example at the beginning you have 2 in most of your regions knowing that until someone has 4(which is still kind of risky against a 2) they will not take that region as opposed to the typical having of 3 in order to have more than one's neighbors who will have 2 in their regions even though neither can attack eachother & you're thus wasting that 3rd troop.

Just came back from playing a risk game, Risk is 70 percent luck and 30 percent skill.

It really isn’t, yes you can get unlucky but troop placement can win you games when you have less troops if your more organised
