It's interesting that all these UA-cam videos over the past few months have been raving about the Turin, MiiCoffee, Gemilai... that has been around for the past 5 years. So, why now? My guess is that Turin (Espresso Outlets house brand and really the only thing they almost ever have in stock) is trying to capitalize on the recent success of the DF64 grinder. And all these UA-camr's are, shock, probably bought and paid for?
Espresso Outlet puts a lot of thought into what they sell. It got popular recently because no one really knew much about until Espresso outlet began to sell it.
Hi, Who made the Turin "Legato" China?. Thanks
Yes
I’m new to espresso brewing and I was wondering how much the stock basket holds. Everyone reviews this machine and the shot looks beautiful. I’m using a fellow ode grinder on 1 and I get a faint ring of crema. I’ve noticed that at 14.5 grams up from 12.5 to 13.5 tamped to ludicrous amounts and I barely get the pressure gauge needle to move. I don’t think my grind size is fine enough and perhaps not enough in the basket hence the question. FYI I did order the Turin DF64 P but…..it won’t be here till next week so no way to confirm if the grinder is the issue or I don’t have enough in the basket which is the stock basket or if the machine is defective. Espresso is a maddening science but I am enjoying the challenge.
I typically use 18 grams. The df64 will help a lot. The odd doesn’t give enough room in the grind range for espresso
I’m noticing that about the ode as you’ve mentioned. It will be good for pour overs and milk drinks that will require and benefit from a courser grind and honestly I’d rather have a separate grinder just for that, instead of fidgeting with settings on a single machine. I definitely am dosing under 18 grams but it’s because I’m using a puck screen to reduce mess. I still have room to add more but I will still be looking to try a different basket. One that is ridge less.
On the website, it mentions it has a SS boiler. Can you confirm this is true? I saw on other forums that it isn’t a SS boiler using the magnet test.
I’ve heard it is but I haven’t taken it apart
304 stainless isn't magnetic maybe that's what they use.
Looking forward to the next review!
Thanks
waiting for more from this
I’m been testing it a lot! Probably pulled 50 shots so far!
