@@Xanthelei I mean I never said I had a nice high paying job lol. But when I was 20 I was working at an IHOP making peanuts (though a lot of hours) and I went down to Miami for my 21st birthday. When I was 21 going on 22 I was working at a Sonic and a Dennys and went to Miami in April and Minneapolis in June. Later that year I went to Oregon for Christmas. The plane tickets cost me 800plus bucks. (For me and my SO) I was still working at Dennys at the time lol. This summer I plan to go to Boston. I work at a liquor store. Dont make much money. I was lucky though when I was 23 I got paid to go to LA for a few days. That was kind of like a paid vacation lol. To be fair back when I was 22 I had a waitress at the Dennys I worked at tell me "I never met a dish washer who travelled so much"
To be fair, in my early 20s I was living in a dirt cheap studio apartment with a bunch of friends in suburban North Texas. Paying like 120 dollars for my part of rent. I'll never go back to that nowadays but that's part of why it didnt matter that I made so little money. Now I live in downtown Minneapolis. I pay for my half of my apartment almost as much as that whole shitty studio in Texas was worth and I have more expenses and things do cost more up north but I still save a little to travel. A vacation doesnt have to even be far. A weekend in Duluth, Minnesota, would be a vacation for me.

SingenStatt Atmen hey friend, while I’m fortunate enough to have never have had to suffer through depression or anxiety problems, I know many people who have, and it is really such a silent burden. Your parents are there to help, and I’m sure would want to help you through this. I understand that it can be very difficult, but i think one of the most important things you can do is to have a very open and honest conversation with them about what you’re going through. One of the most important parts of life I’ve realized growing up is the true importance of how open conversation can make things so much easier. Like I said, it’s not easy, but becomes more and more easy with practice. ❤️

@@justasingledronevideo2583 Hey thank you so much for your kind words. :) Thankfully I don't suffer from depression either, I'm just incredibly unhappy with where I am in live right now and how little I have achieved; right now I'm finally 'achieving' sth (in my parents eyes) but I hate every second of it and would much rather do anything else... Like I say, it's not a depression. :) Although it is quite depressing. ^^
Anyhow, I don't want to bother you with my live. I just wanted to thank you for you kindness - I did have many such open conversations with my parents and they do know how I feel, but in the end I'm the only once who can change things. So that's why I'd rather my parents didn't feel bad because of me, they deserve better.

The two that bother me the most are millenials killing the housing market and vacation. Those aren't effected by millenials directly at all and the reasons are simple. If you want to equate the fact that millenials aren't buying houses to the market dying, sure. Go ahead. But the real factor behind what's preventing millenials from buying is the dramatic economic inflation over the years and how wages have failed to keep up. If you don't have money, you can't afford to buy things... As for vacations. Millenials aren't killing the concept of a vacation, they just can't afford to take one. Again, it's another thing that's happening because of a lack of money. Those who DO earn vacation time are often using it to supplement their income rather than actually taking the time off. This isn't about entitlement, it's just the facts...

For instance, I would LOVE to go on a vacation, stay in a hotel, maybe get married buy a house and all that good shit... but the job I work at pays $11-$13/hr oh but 15 years ago at the same place doing the same job they were paying $30/hr+. The reason I don't "find something better"? Because it's still one of the better paying jobs in the area. Companies are moving to the "raise prices and cut wages" thing and yeah, it may save them money and make their investors happy in the short term but this whole thing is hanging on by a thread....

So there may not be as many "accident" kids. My grandmother had 7 siblings, and my mom only has 2. Now-a-days if you want to have kids, you go off birth control, and if you don't want kids you stay on the pill, or shots, or some other kind that is more effective. I wouldn't say wanting 1 or 2 kids is a bad thing, but there aren't as many "accident" kids when women are in their 30's anymore.
