It always makes me happy see people wearing Rei's designs in the audience. It seems that here we have remains of the black rose collection, but more joyful i think. Indeed a lamentation but the longing for solace and union are more prominent (maybe, maybe not). This sort of witch's hat/garment in 6:22 is definitely my favorite. I can see myself wearing it in the Brazilian heat. 7:49 made me give a big smile too.
People who wore comme des garcons are one of the most intellectual people. That’s why it makes me sad when some people call Rei Kawakubo’s ugly 😭😭😭

Well, she made the transition from art to design. It still reminds me of other dimensions. Like Shiro Kuramata, still makes me think; between the object and the phantom.
Indeed!!! I agree, and the comparison with master Kuramata was precise!
Well I laughed and hated it and then I was transfixed and inspired and absolutely love some of the ideas.
The first few outfits I see sea creatures, shells and octopus. Later on, and I don't want to be flippant or derogatory, I see a homeless persons bedding fashioned into an outfit. I absolutely love and admire Rei but to me these are soft sculptures in fabric. Always interesting, sombre, a pure expression.
Bill Cunningham, the great NY street photographer spotted straight away after the first collection that the silhouette of Comme was a bag lady with all her possessions around her. Rie acknowledged this as correct so the look has merely evolved!

“Comme des Garcon” ,a perfectionist’s nightmare.
This is correct when perfectionists apply their own mental templates onto the fashion world, demanding conformity even in non-conformism. The perfection inheres only in the conception, realization and showcasing of the end-product. I've always wondered if most of the runway clothing of Comme des Garçons is actually purchased and worn. The pieces are almost always self-contained works of art. Great show!

Reflects the state of the world today, depressing and tasteless.
90年代のギャルソンはコレクションでもちゃんと着られる服を発表していたのにここ数年はどんだけ変なものを作れるか大会になってるね。
川久保玲さん 本当に引けないんですね。このショウで使われた素材は世界を見回してもまるで比べる事の不可能なものですよね、凄すぎます。
ただ 益々ショウの観客は 着る事のない人達ばかりで
首を傾げたくなる。バイヤー？ ジャーナリスト？ それとも？ こういう状態なら
ショップスタッフに らしい服着て貰って 映り込んでもらった方が 気持ち良くないでしょうか？。 時を重ねる前衛が 如何も空の雲ごとく
ポッカリ浮いてるだけに 感じられます。

To me Comme Des Garçon is anti fashion, in a strict, awkward, disproportionate, colorless and totally unwearable kinda way But it is 100% art. No one and I mean no one does it like Comme Des Garçon. And we love a fashion artist.

Some of the individual pieces are wearable but this is more an exploration in silhouettes and feelings. The ready to wear collection will be pared down and wearable.

The whole audience stood out kinda. They seemed to be waiting to be fed.

They’re usually not supposed to be worn. Sometimes hv that 1 or 2 pieces that people collect.
Her main biz clothing is not from her fashion shows, which is deep in philosophy. There’s a documentary about her work and biz.

This could have been presented differently, surely it was an exercise in the creative application of the fabric arts but the end result given the manner of presentation and harsh lighting was - ridiculous and loses it impact of meaning . No top models were harmed during the making of this show..
