After his jabs, he had a tendency to lift his pivot before releasing the ball to start his dribble which "should" get whistled for a travel on all levels. You're always allowed to lift your pivot (you just have to pass or shoot before it returns to the ground) EXCEPT when it comes to starting your dribble.
I’ve seen it’s effectiveness in the nba but in high school and college you may get whistled for traveling. Switching pivot foot before dribbling.

In FIBA they will call it a travel. You need to release the ball before you lift the foot that is back (pivot foot).
@@robsoto2 It should also get called in the NBA (well on all levels of play for that matter) for the same reason.
