Thank you so much! Very helpful for a beginner modder, everything seems so complicated at first and it feels like nothing works but dummy instructions like this make it so much easier! Cheers!
Glad I could help!!! You're not kidding, there's a lot of things you need to know to mod correctly. Also having a background in programming really helps. Games are only a collection of programs that work together, so if you understand programming you understand how games work. Happy modding!!!
@ModApocalypse This is such a great and helpful video! Never realized I had already installed steam already outside of the program files but still made another anyways to follow along! lol THANK YOU!
Dosen't work for me. I follow all the steps, including turning off anti-virus and running program as admin. When I hit accepted it says successful, but the new library dosen't appear in steam
Every time I try to create a new library on the same drive I get this error: "Failed to write librryfolders.vdf. Restoring backup...". Any idea how to fix?
So on the github page for the tool the creator says he used code from vdf 3.4 and that apparently is a python library and program for reading and writing in .vdf files. To actually debug what's going wrong with that I would need the tracing from a terminal. So if you're willing to download python code editor, and the source code and then run it and send me the error output I might be able to help. But without that tracing it's almost impossible for me to even determine if the error is the Steam tool or the vdf serializer.
@@ModApocalypse Thanks for that extremely generous offer! I ended up just uninstalling steam and re-installing it outside of Program Files x86, which allowed me to mod without needing a second library!
@@sc0ttykn0ws48 Wow I can't believe I never thought of that!!! That's actually a really simple and smart way to do it! I know how hard it can be to find someone who knows how to code in the language you need, and it wouldn't take me long to identify the issue with proper error outputs from a terminal. So if you know anyone that knows how to make a compiler in C++ send them my way I have a job for them.
@@sc0ttykn0ws48Im extremely new to modding, and have been having trouble in this regard. Can I ask you where would it be installed if not on Program files x86?

not sure if youre still trying to resolve this, but I had the same issue - restarting my pc fixed it
Thanks :)
Whenever I try to download the setup tool I get a “virus detected” and it automatically cancels the download.
you have to run as admin and then hit run anyway

Make sure you closed Steam from the background before trying any of this.

You skipped downloading the tool. All I see is source code.
