Real Talk San Mateo Ep. 1 Sn. 2 - Human Trafficking & Gang Awareness

For the new year, Real Talk San Mateo is changing slightly. While we’ll still provide the opportunity for listening sessions, we’ll also be providing episodes on topics relevant to our community.
With January acting as both Human Trafficking Awareness month and Gang Awareness month, we chose to dedicate Real Talk San Mateo Episode 1 Season 2 to those very topics.
Pamela Estes, the County’s Human Trafficking Advocacy Coordinator, graciously provided us with a summary of what human trafficking is, who are its victims, where it happens and what we all can do about it. Sgt. Amanda Von Glahn then joins us to make a connection between human trafficking and gang life. And finally, Officer Nick Franquez will give you a quick run down of gangs in San Mateo and what we’re doing about them.
