- If you own a BoXXer Race, Team, RC, R2C2 and World Cup from 2010 onwards (35mm chassis), you can update your fork with the Charger Damper™ Upgrade kit.
The Charger™ is RockShox's most refined damper, and its sealed construction with an expandable rubber bladder ensures damping consistency reduces vibration and is almost 100 grams lighter than the previous BoXXer damper. Adjustment is easy and intuitive, with a single compression adjuster and a beginning stroke rebound adjuster with a factory set Rapid Recovery™ tune. The internal shim stacks can be re-tuned for light or firm compression and rebound settings.

Thanks for the video. I struggled a bit to get the new casting cap onto the shaft, so a good tip is to pop the new casting cap into boiling water before. This makes it expand enough for the foot bolt to press it on nice and snug. Just be careful using boiling water as the casting cap gets hot!
wow what a cool reassembly , after the plug has changed color!
As others have said you have to remove the old plug from the damping assembly that is stuck in the bottom Of the fork leg
You should probably mention that the old casting plug has to be removed before installing the shaft into the lower leg. Seems that some run into problems when trying to install the charger unit without removing the old plug.
Hudlbuar on rc only
Yes!! I wish I read this comment before attempting
And me!
Hi, how does one remove the old casting plug? Can't seem to find any removal instructions for that plug specifically...
I changed it and used the old one. Works fine
Dam that looks easy ordering one today
Thank you Rockshox!!
Can you do a solo air upgrade vid
davidcart28 you literally replace the whole left side of the fork with wc parts
Why do Boxxer teams come with a bottom out bumper on the charger damper, but on the WC and the upgrade kit this is not included?
I DONT UNDERSTAND. THE ROTATING DIAL THING DOESNT DO ANYTHING WHEN I ROTATE IT... WHATS THE POINT OF IT, CAN ANYONE HELP. it doesnt change anything at all when i rotate it in either direction, is this normal?? on my fox fork and old rockshox the change was obvious, but with this, the dial doesnt seem to even be connected to anything much less do anything!!! also it now fell off and i lost it .... so whats the point of it
Can u make video, how to remove your spring on this fork with bottom out setting
What is the name of the tool you used to put shock fluid in? Have been looking for one for a while.
looking to install the charger damper on my 2013 giant glorys boxxer forks, but where can I find that exact oil dispensing gun your using in the video to put the ow30 oil in the lower??? cheers
j'ai oublié de mettre la loctite sur la petite cale métallique, est ce très embêtant ? merci pour les réponses.
I forgot to put the loctite on the small metallic hold, is it very annoying? Thank you for the answers.
I guess it's just me that i didn't get the old plug out, but how the heck do i do that? Is there any trick for it?
so where is the oil now ?
I've got a boost (2017) YARI (150mm travel 27.5", 15x110), from what I understand I can fit a charger damper (from lyric?) to my fork?
If anyone is still checking on comments under this video... i have a 2011 boxxer rc and i am about to install a charger damper... the question is: do i have to remove the old casting from the leg or can i use that instead of the new one, and if i have to remove that from the leg, how do i do that, thanks for your time and your assistance in advance
can"t set low speeds ?
I have a pair of old school 200mm travel rock shox boxxer. They are spring. How do I change them from spring to air?
you dont. That is not possible but you have probably found that out by now!
I tried to instal mine yesterday. I got as far as torquing the footbolt but it just keeps spinning. It seems to be half screwed in and can't be tightened or untightened. I suspect it is just spinning the shaft inside. Problem is, I can't do anything now. I can't remove the dampener and start again, and I can't get it to tighten enough to be rideable. I've now missed a weekend of shuttles. Shattered and frustrated. Rockshox, can you give me any help in how to remove the footbolt? Thanks.
Yippee_Ki_Yay MF I know it's 2 years later but for anyone else: you need to install the coil spring and press down on it from the top to put pressure on the foot so the nut can bite it and screw on
Try to use a rattle gun to loosen it? The faster torque in the gun could just be enough to get it in done
whos the maker of that syringe gun?
Yes. Who makes those?! ***** /Swedish mechanic.
