A thermo scope was created in A. Greece in the 3rd Century BC. The difference between a thermo scope and thermometer is the use of a scale. The credit of the first thermometer goes to Santorio Santorio around 1614. However, a consistent scale was needed since many thermometers were being created around the world. Daniel Fahrenheit and Anders Celsius create the system of measurements we use today. With Fahrenheit being an American standard and Celsius being a global standard in 1948. This video made me realize how many systems of measurements exist in the world of thermodynamics. I didn’t know there was a separate scale used for Italian and Swiss cheese production!
excellent video? are you smoking crack? the motion graphics are low mid at best and that would be *fine* but the complete garbage stock music drags this down to bottom tier a literal child couldve done a better job after 3 youtube tutorials
So when did people start measuring weather and use temperature information in daily life? Origin, popularity and impact I really wonder. I had the same curiosity on clocks/time measuring, it was eye-opening.
Very ineresting explanation of something we take a simple advantage.Being heated from the sun, what suns action would effect the malfuntion of the thermometer.
To say that Fahrenheit was born in Gdansk is a massive anachronism. In a massive part of history, this place was Danzig, a German town in the German land of Prussia. And so it was in his time, Fahrenheit obviously, as the name tells you, was a German!
Ice can be preserved in sawdust or straw for long periods underground and transported long distances from the mountains. Having it available out of season was a status symbol for centuries.
The whole world should get rid of the stupid Celsius scale for measuring temperature and use Fahrenheit it's more precise the whole world should use metric in everything else measured just not temperature. For example kilometers is more precise than mph. just not the metric temperature scale

I'm shocked at the low viewership/comments here. Excellent video, lads. Thank you for putting this together.
Yes, true. This video was excellent at explaining everything.
true
@@FaithfulNation ya,this is a very nice video even at explaining and presenting

@7:53 what's the freezing point and boiling point for crickets:)
6:21 Should be using Mrs. Fahrenheit's internal temperature. It is more accurate.
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I AM WATCHING THIS.ENJOYABLE ,EDUCATIVE AND IT'S MY SCIENCE HOMEWORK.
That is some good drawing that went into this video.

Great video! Very concise
This is pretty good

Interesting .... This is a good video 👍 it's very easy when you have with narrator and lyrics
How do you get Celsius to farenheight
Thanks for narrator
Excellent video! I wish it was available in French too. I could have shown it to my students ;-)
Best video 🎉of the decade

Nice video
POV: ur a bukitsion student watching this in physics with miss raya
Maravilhoso, adorei o vídeo 👏👏👏
How did Galenus get ice for experiment in 180AD when artificially making water to ice was invented in around 1800 AD and Greece barely has snowfall.

Granddad had a Reaumur meter on his winter set of double glass windows.
How did that Greek guy make ice? Did he wait for winter? How did he know how the make 4° increments?
Good
As a child my body temperature was measured with a thermometer on my armpit
Is it just me or did someone else come here because their teacher asked them to watch this video
DOWNVOTE … insanely irritating incessant bgmusic.
Who’s here because of school

wow
what a waste of time..
