The fuel changes a lot. Used to be sometimes the best play for a cv was to fly around spotting people until a target opens up
it is needed so no cv player sits in the edge of the map and keeps farming
@@human4559 More a case of "Heck, that destroyer can stay unspotted and sit in smoke, not sure where he's headed and he'll pick us all off .. hey CV ..go find him or we're all dead" .. not any more. They're trying to turn every DD into a Kamakaze. :( Seriously unbalance the game.
I think this is good but at the same time the Fuel consumes waaaay to fast cant even drop all the bombs of my squads even when trying

If its going to be like this at least we sould launch only one squad per attack not all of them

Need to add spotting assist damage Indicators. Would help new and old players. Understand their spotting range and playing passive spotting roles as a destroyer and Cruisers.

Pretty much. Carriers must advance to take advantage of their attack ranges. But of course, what’s going to happen when they’re spotted? The entire red team goes full Eye of Sauron and tries to nuke the carrier.
Mercenaries, that's what they are, it makes sense for there to be so many defeats in the game because it's more profitable for them

@thebigsad5402 At least until something more hated comes along. The whole ‘not spotting torpedoes’ is basically making destroyers more stealthy.
@ILikeTanks Well, love ‘em or hate ‘em, it doesn’t change the fact that these vessels eclipsed the battleships as the flagships of the Navy. Them coming to the game was supposed to balance the destroyers who could be super stealthy. Now that balance has been disrupted somewhat

I noticed but as I’m on console and basically a carrier main, I just smiled and nodded.
it’s terrible that the carriers can’t see the lines the torpedos make while traversing the waters. There are matches where there’s 1-2 cruisers and sometimes they don’t even bring radar or sonar, and even if they do and they get taken out the battleships are completely blind during the match, so now if a destroyer wants to be invisible the whole match, they can. Watch it now matches with 3-5 destroyers on both sides, so terribly frustrating.
Dds are cheating bastards, already being invisible and having nukes.

So wg had a good idea, this enhances teamwork... nice nice... BUT NO ONE SPEACK IN THE MIC! Even if they have the mic of they don't talk, u can only hear theyre parents make noise of talking... in whatever language.
Don’t think I have ever used my mic in game and I’ve been playing on and off since early access. If I’m playing with friends they are all PlayStation so we use party chat instead

The majority hate CV so it’s no surprise that people are liking these changes since overall there are more nerfs than buffs.
This feels more like a buff to DDs and heavy AA BB's.
Not being able to Spot destroyers at any point for others is a massive thing. And reducing the TP this drastically makes Attacking sometimes not possible. Imagine playing kaga against the iowas, jean barts etc. You get absolutely destroyed already but then? Clear Skies for literally everyone

The carriers not being able to spot is absolutely stupid. The other changes are fine, but them not being able to spot for the team is a joke

As a CV player I hate these upgrades. Apparently Wargaming doesn't understand carrier operations and are forcing us to go to the front like a DD or BB with the fuel mechanic. This is bad because of our low speed, less armor and no main battery that can be controlled by the player. We're sitting ducks on the front lines. Then they reduced the damage on all our bombs and torpedoes which means we'll have to do more strikes closer to the front. Our weapons already did minimum damage now they're doing less?!

The no more torp spotting is my one disagreement. CVs are supposed to be more of a support, that ability lends the CV to be support. Now with faster restoration, and no torp spot, this moves the CVs to be more offensive than support. CVs should be able to spot torps!
Bravo. This is the best news we could have gotten and this will ensure this game’s longevity. Shout out to the CC’s (like Xarkun), who have suggested a rework like this.

A game-destroying patch. Who in their fucking minds thought the CV rework was a job well done - or even required? Even monkies could have done better balance adjustements. Won't be playing the game or spending money until patched.

I had just begun to get the hang of working the things and then they change it all up. Now down to 'least played' class.

After a fee days of testing it, it seems to me that playing carrier became easier, while it hasn't become that easier to shoot down planes. Also 40 planes for clear sky is a bit too high threshold. I personally don't like this update because it favours the class that actually has nothing to do with positioning. Can we have a separate play mode without carriers?

Think everything is good for the CV rework except the spotting it’s already hard to spot DDs as anything but a CV and now it’s like impossible lol my games where like everything but 3 ships are DDs is gonna be every single game

CVs perma spotting broke game fundamentals which is positioning which detection is required to do that. CVs now actually have to use their brains instead of being some zombie playing brainlessly to spot.

@@calebhequembourg2479 Do you understand how broken that makes that class? Fundamentals isn't nonsense. Lmao. DDs need to use detect to grab caps, contest caps, spot, ect. DDs can't do that when a CV can keep them spotted the entire time allowing the entire team to shoot them. Using detect allows positioning and having a CV perma spotting ruins detect therefore ruins positioning which therefore breaks a huge fundamental of the game.
@@godzillaiv2096 maybe in your opinion but I rarely have problems as a DD getting spotted by a CV. I truly that detects by CV should be spotted for the whole team and once the plane leaves the area they go back to being hidden. Either way you gotta be practically on top of a DD in a plane to spot in the 1st place.

All the CV mains tears in the comments bc they can't bully DDs anymore while sitting at the back of the map unharmed is great. Not a fan of the larger squadron size, bomb payload, or the dented robotic plane factory but ig we'll see.

Removing the detection ability of the catapult fighters and the patrol ship is the stupidest thing a human could think of. You have not even justified this choice which is useless. The hunter plane is no longer useful except for certain perks.
Aircraft carriers used to be fun to play as, and to think I shot that poor aircraft carrier thinking it was a major Target that need to die fast, poor bastard was just a free kill just as I, and I thought I was lucky when those bombs didn't set a fire or do any damage.
Kinda weird that planes no longer spot torpedoes...to be fair, I have spotted torps leaving the tubes only to hit a ship 20 seconds later, including other DDs.
Also can't an AA cruiser just sit behind an island and only be spotted for the carrier he can ignore.

Can you just please put a cap on the amount of DDs allowed on each team to three if you're going to get rid of the ability for planes to spot torps. Can't wait to hop into a match with 5+ DDs now 🙄

First thing I’m curious about. Since planes are losing the engine cooldown, what’s replacing it? At Tier 3 it’s the only consumable planes have.
Second, when something is mentioned ‘to come’ does that mean a new carrier like Germany’s Erich Lowenhardt or France’s Béarn, or the return of one from previous events such as Independence or Ark Royal?
EDIT: Got to thinking about the consumables. Why not give carrier planes a ‘War Emergency Power or WEP’ consumable? Boosts aircraft speed by a further 10% for fifteen seconds.
Or perhaps a ‘Fighter Escort’ that functions like a CAP but follows the bomber squadron around and protects it from enemy carrier fighters and ship-launched fighters?
They didn't lose anything. They essentially get permanent engine boost for free + 10% speed buff with this update.
Good ideas on the extra support power. I'd say give the armor at all tiers seeing all the planes hp is being nerfed.

Dmg is not the problem i think. Getting your Planes to drop before every Single one gets obliterated is the question
i stopped using carriers at t7 and up because the hell of AA will leave you with no planes before the 5 minute mark even if you pre drop and are selective with your target. They were so expensive to run and you would have to perform amazingly in order to make money. Now they gave you more planes but less HP, and the AA stays the same so you’ll lose more planes now and do less damage. Brilliant

Just make the AA range like 10 km and plane spot like 12 km.
I'm a carrier lover. They were already in disadvantage and rarely you find someone with MVP in a carrier (though I've done it). It's a support role and taking a carrier you know you're going to earn a lot less, have less chance of advancing.. so yeah, good idea to make it harder. After reading the patch notes which goes something like this.. Nerfed item, Nerfed item, Nerfed item, Nerfed item, Slight buff (so be thankful). I get the message. I've put thousands into this game over the years. I think it's time I started severely winding back my investment and looking for another game.

175s restoration time welp guessing that cv wont be doing anything and its the only one not to get its bombs buffed and actually had its torpedo dpm nerfed
We have increased the amount of restored aircraft for each restoration cycle, as well as the amount of aircraft in a squadron for most carriers, which results in faster restoration times than before in most cases.

Could have saved yourself the effort and just made separate lobbies for carriers or simply gotten rid of them. The game has never seen the balance it had before carriers were introduced. I like that the carriers will need to be in the fight now, no back wall camping, and that spotting dds for the team wont work anymore. Now you can play a dd at tier 7 that isn't named Friesland. But this is all icing on a mud pie. Just get rid of carriers and make the game balanced again... simple as that
So, I'm all for reworking carriers as they're way to dumb at the minute, though dumbing them down even further sucks just as much, I agree with the spotting mechanic, realistically the planes are only spotting for the carrier, that said! Torpedoes are a bane of bb life, and fighting a target you can't see is borderline not fair, I find destroyers be the worst team mates, 90% of the destroyers I've fought with don't challenge enemy destroyers for territory, instead focus of killing battleships which leaves the enemy dd to do the same, my point is leave the Torpedo spotting up, it's the only advantage some bbs get, and yes I do play destroyers purely to hunt other destroyers, I think subs could be fun for that game play to
My God. It is unbelievable that the console version has the rework for CVs that everyone in PC has been asking for years. They removed the spotting while the stupid devs of the PC version refuse to do this simple change.
A very cool update but can u do something else please.So u know that the main battery guns follow the directors/fire control systems, can u do the same thing for the secondary guns and the AA guns for all platforms just because I’m a ship guy.Also when are aircraft carriers arriving on mobile?

I think regarding Fuel, it should be raised so the distance traveled back to the carrier should also use fuel. Once it runs out of Fuel, the planes should stop what ever they are doing and drop in the water, like when a car runs out of Petrol for instance.

I only ask that you lot consider that its already a pain in the ass to lose all our planes to a team half made up of impenetrable AA Cruisers and American and French battleships. Making it so that planes will just drop out the sky on the way back will at worst force carriers closer to the front than even the Devs intended, and at best will lead to your friendly carrier becoming deplaned and useless much earlier in the battle. I fear for Saipan's tiny air wing.

AA will be more effective since the planes in squadrons will have less HP. No need to reduce HP and increase AA damage, that would be too much, especially at higher tiers where AA on most ships is fairly high anyway.

Yes, planes get more bombs, but they also have reduced damage, penetration, and fire chance. That change was made to give a better hit chance while keeping the damage stable.
The overall HP does not increase, and in many case decreases. Yes, there are more planes, but they have reduced HP which reduces the total health of the squadrons.
And the reason some restoration times are fast is because in those carriers you are going to be losing your planes fast. Faster now that they have less health.
Check your facts before you open your mouth.

I’ve been a longtime player of this game, especially a fan of the CVs before this update. I have even gone through all nations w CVs tiers 3 and 5. Loved it to the point where I even dropped some cash on this game. Now with this update I can’t even fathom how I would enjoy this game in any way. You ruined a perfectly good system where I found a bit of happiness after a long hard days work. This game has been deleted from my system and I can’t say I’ll ever have it back. Fuck this company and fuck this game.

wg would you please please please change the CV spotting system back???! one of the main purpose of cv is to limitating where enemies can go by spotting them and attract concentrate fire. I've been for times that opposite cruisers just went into a key area with cv tried their best to stopping her, while what can I as another cruiser do ??? This is update is for potatoes going for dmg. CVs at this stage are pretty useless for the team.
