Ms. Asia, I hear you mentioning that your house and other things aren't aesthetically perfect... Mine isn’t either, but that’s just real life for most of us! That’s exactly what made me fall in love with you and your channel-it inspired me to start posting again on mine. I love the authenticity you bring when you post, so keep being you, girl!❤
Hey Asia! I had to come on here to leave a comment because I watch you and other gardeners on my tv more since I canceled my cable. I had to share this 😂 My daughter came over to drop something off. I'm watching you on my tv. As soon as she walked into my room, she heard your voice and turned towards the tv and said, "Hi Asia"😂 and left.😂
Oh Asia, turn that shed into a chicken coop. Get yourself some chalk paint. Bright colors! And cut a hole into the side of it for the hens to go in and out. Put the nest boxes in it with their water and feed. You will love it!
I also have cinderblocks and have had them for a few years.Yes, as you said, they are heavy, and I'm 64 years old, but by God's strength, I got them moved lol.As a matter of fact this fall I planted daffodils and other flower bulbs in mine. This will be their forever home as long as they grow.❤
Again, the realness is everything for me and I so appreciate you for it ❤. It can definitely be intimidating thinking we have to do all the things but, no journey is the same. Grow in whatever you have 💚
Cattle panel trellis is how I support my tomatoes. I loved that last year and I’ll never go back to any other way. Cleaner, easier, taller, more flow and less space taken up.
No Asia your ordinance didn’t change I had the same issues in my neighborhood some years back I use to pass by this house on the main street where she had over 20 even would sell them ; no one bothered her ; my house was off the beaten path the mailman didn’t know I was back there and I had all the issues took it all the way to city hall and Won. You get the chickens you want and just hush lol
Love your truth. I got chickens last spring and I knew I didnt have the ability to build a coop that I wanted. I wanted to be able to stand up in the coop and manage my flock. I got a plastic shed and I am making it work. When you trar down your shed, consider a new coop especially since you plan on increasing your flock. And do whatever you can to install the auto-door. I check ion my chickens every morning, but it is great that I don't have to get up to let them out. ☮️💚🌻
This is not a judgement of any kind but your statement made me think of something that just happened. I have a lot of allergies including to meat but I also can’t eat processed foods except one which is canned tomato sauce or canned vegetables. I was using canned tomato sauce and it bothered me because I have a high fructose corn syrup allergy and whenever you open the cans you can see that it’s sweetened artificially. There’s a sheen to it. And I knew that my stomach wasn’t agreeing with it but I didn’t pay that much attention to it. Well, the other day I went to use an organic can of tomato sauce and because I hadn’t used it in a long time because I’ve been making fresh sauces I couldn’t get over the taste. There’s bitter taste and how chemically it tasted. When you eat natural food and you come back to eating processed foods, the taste is so different. At least for me. I think my goal for 2025 is going to be to grow a lot more tomatoes to put away for sauces.
I agree with your take on cinder block beds and growing in general. I have two 10x4 and put them together myself. Yes, they were HEAVY, but they were also FREE. I have blocks, bags, and a few no dig beds and they all seem to have their own pros and cons. Great to see your encouragement and a peek at the December garden.
I love your videos! I also have chickens in my backyard yard. I turned my deck box into their coop and they love it. I have 6 chickens and they fit perfectly. 2x4 on the top level and nest box on the bottom. I think your chickens would love one too! Also easy to clean.
Asia Asia Asia! I’ve made the exciting decision to leave my part-time job and dive into full-time farming! 😄 I'm both excited and a bit nervous, but I see this as an incredible opportunity. I can't wait to connect with you and fellow urban homesteaders! 🫶🏽
So funny because I could hit copy/paste on so many things you shared as they happen just that way on my little urban lot. Love that you are keeping it real for those of us doing the same.
Merry Christmas Asia and family have a blessed day. I just want to tell you thank you for embracing change and it's up , down side of making the choice of walking away from what's not for you or serving you as you need it to. No matter how much it pays us. You have helped me now I am not making six figures . We often stay committed to things that are slowly killing us. You have been so consistent and " It's just fine" lol.
Hello from India! I recently found your channel and love what you're doing. Been gardening for ten years and I'm finally ready to get some quails, ducks and hopefully a couple of small goats in my tiny urban backyard. Will also be reviving my UA-cam channel in the coming year. Btw, I used to have a yellow door in my previous house and planning to color my front door the same now 😅 Merry Christmas! ❤
Nice video! A thought! You can repurpose the shed to be a enclosed space for the chickens and put the automatic door on the side opening to the run 🤔🤔🤔❤😂😂change the shed roof to get a less creepy feeling And girllll ….go get yo fishing gear outa there 😂😂
I have purchased HUGE grow bags, and I plant my dwarf trees in those.I don't have a lot of space, so that's great for ME! In my beginning of gardening, I did plant a few trees a little too close together. So I'm not sure I will get a harvest, but I'm not digging them up. That root system will wear me out 😅.Im in the process of revamping a few things because I'm older, and I can't keep changing and pulling on stuff.❤
Hey there I’ve been watching your channel for months now you inspire me to start a channel lol I talk to myself in my garden I might as well just record & upload 😂. Keep up the good work my girl ❤
I love your ingenuity and enthusiasm! Thank you for sharing. I plan to homestead on my semi rural property in retirement (in 5!years) I already have a garden and shed. I need a greenhouse though. I've had chickens and quail in the past and I will again. You are inspiring! Merry Christmas!
Hello Sweet Friend! Loving this video! I enjoy real life transparency of what is/is not happening. Its fine! Merry Christmas to you and your family!🙏🏾💛💛💛🫂🎄🎄🎄
Hi Asia! Happy New Year! I grow on my deck in pots, an old wagon, a whiskey barrel & grow boxes. Did you once have a tv show that helped folks solve their landscaping issues? Was the privacy fence there when you moved in?
I just discovered your channel. I love the reality of you and your garden .. it's not aesthetically perfect and I LOVE that! I'm looking into grow bags and saw that you have quite a lot. Do you ever clean them? If yes, how?
asia i also have a shed i do not go in!! lol it i full off i dont know what from the person who had my house before me , i throw the mower in and out thats about it, but i do want to use it as its a huge space but i think i would need a skip
Thank you for inspiring my family and I to raise chickens and quail! I absolutely love how you set up your quail community Listen I live in a HOA community (really want to move but finances are just not their to do so right now but it’s fine) they don’t allow chickens at this point I don’t care if my neighbors here (BAKkAAA) I’m raising my meat birds it’s a shame when you own your home society still has a say in what you can and can not do . Your chickens are so quiet what varieties do you have? Also as far as your muscadine grapes do you have any tips on how you care for them?
Just started the video. And I just wanted to tell you, you we're one of my inspirations to buy a house to start my own vegetable garden. I'm month 3 in my new home! And all though there's snow on the ground here in Minnesota, I'm ready to start growing food and having my own eggs!. For myself, neighbors, and the community. Thank you for being a resource and inspiration!!!! More black representation is needed in this bubble of youtube.
Came to see how your Quictent Greenhouse is holding up. I’ve got the same sized one in my cart, just hesitant to click order. 😅 It looks great and withstood the hurricane in your area. Would you still recommend?
Hi! It’s holding up really well! I actually love it. Aside from when I first set it up with no additional reinforcement it had worked really well. I’m curious to see how it will do in the snow. Yes, I would still recommend it!
Did you have the fruit trees and the grapevine before you started the garden? I want to start those too but didn't know how long it will take for me to get fruit.
No I added them after I started the garden. I got fruit in the second year from the peach trees (I removed the flowers in the first year) and I believe I got a few grapes in year one.
Ms. Asia, I hear you mentioning that your house and other things aren't aesthetically perfect... Mine isn’t either, but that’s just real life for most of us! Loved the tour! The truth is, comparison is the thief of joy. Don't compare but get ideas from others and get started! Thanks for the inspiration.

My daughter came over to drop something off. I'm watching you on my tv.
As soon as she walked into my room, she heard your voice and turned towards the tv and said, "Hi Asia"😂 and left.😂
I would love the guy that builds fences for his neighbors and schools , to come to your house and fix all your doors !
Oh Asia, turn that shed into a chicken coop. Get yourself some chalk paint. Bright colors! And cut a hole into the side of it for the hens to go in and out. Put the nest boxes in it with their water and feed. You will love it!
Paint the shed yellow 💛
More importantly, the chickens will be happier.

Composting is the best thing that you can do to enrich your soil. Your plants will love it. Just pick a spot and start a pile. 🎉
Cattle panel trellis is how I support my tomatoes. I loved that last year and I’ll never go back to any other way. Cleaner, easier, taller, more flow and less space taken up.
I love the way you grow and that you don't follow the garden rules. It super helpful to me. Thank you!! You can make that shed into a rabbit hutch.

I started in 2020 as well and i follow zero rules. I make it do what it do & it does well.

Loved your video. It inspires me to do more. My front and backyard are a bit chaotic
But I love growing food and flowers in them.

Enjoyed continue success in your garden. I too play with what works for.

Not often but I have had an opossum come twice in one year about a year ago but that it it so far.

On your bags that you stake. Do you punch the staking rods through the bottom of the bags?
No I do not push the stakes through the bags.
