The Lavender lair of France, Valensole is situated in Alpes-de-Haute Provence in the Côte d’Azur region of France. To the gourmet taste buds, it is one of the 100 most remarkable sites in France. Famous for its Lavender Honey, Perfumes, Almonds, Truffles and Olives, the area is known as the most productive and lush areas in France.
Valensole produces the best lavender in the country. They have two types of Lavenders, the Aspic lavender and the Officinal Lavender, also known as the Mint lavender which attracts most bees to help them produce the famous Lavender Honey.
The best ways to Travel to Valensol is by Car, so as to not miss any oppurtunity to witness the Lavender experience, running into the fields and taking pictures. The farmers do not resist anyone from stopping and enjoy a breeze through these fields. The best time to travel is in July-August. Many thanks for visiting our Channel. Our greetings to you and other fellow travellers from Germany. My apologies but I will not be able to help with best possible options for stay in Valensole. What I could recommend is Travel to Valensole village and stay in the countryside; there are a ton of things to see around the village, I mean Lavender and Sunflower fields, Perfume houses…So keep time to visit them all. At the village you would not need spend more than 2 hrs. My ultimate recommendation is to stay in Cogolin; Cheap and Easily accessible to visit rest of the French Riviera.
