    I love the RDX. Acura has done a phenomenal job with it. It's good looking, powerful, efficient, comfortable and reliable. I really hope Acura will continue to offer V6 engines.

    I am frankly very happy that they are providing V6 power, while many others have been going with overboosted tiny four-cylinder engines. This is going to make for better reliability in the long run, as compared to those poor overworked 4 cylinder engines, that will likely need a new turbo and gasket replacement in their lifetime. And some cases even more sadly, around 60,000 miles. Much rather have a naturally-aspirated bigger engine.

      i noticed people that own v6 engines aposed to 4 cylinder turbo engines get around the same fuel economy if not better due to the turbo always having to spool up creating lower mpg numbers .especially when hauling something

    When the RDX first came out, it had a Turbo 4 but most customers complained about the turbo lag and the fact that others provided a v6 option. So you could say Acura was ahead of the game with the turbo 4. Wish they would bring back SH-AWD system which is better than the AWD system they are using now. Still better looking than the NX from Lexus and the Germans can't compete with price or reliability, especially when you add in the options for a true apple to apple comparison. If they would only offer a 6 speed manual.

      Well that old turbo 4 was pretty slow. Honda wasn't really invested in its turbo lineup back then as they are now. The new turbo engines are much more powerful. I'm sure the next revision will get the 2.0t lifted from the type-R

    absolute best bang for the buck for a premium compact suv!

    Standard V6 power, a low price, good cargo capacity and a standard power tailgate make for a strong value proposition.

    Bought the 2016 advanced package in 2019 with 20k miles on it. It was 16k less.

      I’m thinking of getting a 2016 Rdx with the technology and acurawatch package. Around $26k

    Just a great little SUV.. It was the sales leader for most of 2016 in its class, and now the NX200t is passing it.. Newer styling better overall finish in the Lexus. Still think the RDX is much faster and more fun to drive.

      +Dark Knight dann right. The j series has always been stout. 15 second 1/4 mile is quick also. Especially for a sub 300hp suv

    Better looking than the Lexus NX, but still ugly. What happened to the turbo motor offering in the RDX?

    • @jlcii

      the V6 is more refined, not to mention more reliable long-term.

      Acura ditched the noisy, hyper turbo 4 and replaced it with a quiet, smooth, relaxed V-6. It will also in all likelihood last a lot longer than any turbo 4.

    Dear Honda, when you gonna selll Acuras in Europe? As the European market is going more and more premium it would be a great idea!!!

    The line between Acura and Honda has become too blurry.

    I'm at 6200 feet elevation, this would need a turbo with at least 300 HP before I'd touch it, 0-60 at sea level needs to be under 6 seconds, preferably at 5 flat. It is very nice looking though.

    • @jlcii
      @jlcii 8 років тому +2

      sounds like you would much rather have a BMW SUV

    • @glsracer
      @glsracer 8 років тому

      I currently have a 2014 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD. 0-60 in Sport mode at sea level is around 5.7 seconds (~6.2 with standard shift program). With Polestar 0 talks to 60 in 5.2 seconds. Historically BMWs haven't been very reliable and there's a sort of snobbiness to them that I don't like. If Acura would make an RDX with competitive power (300+ HP, 320+ Tq) and SH-AWD, I could possibly be convinced to switch from Volvo.

    • @jlcii
      @jlcii 8 років тому +3

      +glsracer I am so glad you're not a BMW fan LOL, I totally agree with you. The reliability is terrible, and they do have major snob appeal. I personally do like Volvo's better myself, and of all the compact luxury crossovers, I would personally go with the XC60 over all of them. You definitely chose wisely :-).

    • @glsracer
      @glsracer 8 років тому +1

      Yeah Volvos are great cars, I'm currently on my second Volvo and I'm eyeing another to replace my Scion tC in a couple years.

      I'm sorry I have a 2013 BMW x1 based on rwd and my 0-60 tuned is about 5.5 to 5.7. Super fun car. I'd love that Volvo too. I'm glad I gave up my Civic si.

      Honda just put out a patent on an all-new V6 engine design that is modern (DOHC, cam phasing, timing-chain, and purpose built for turbo options) to replace the 20+ year old SOHC J-series.
