Smooth, slender and swift: The silky shark is one of the ocean’s most inquisitive predators.
They are true travelers, roaming open seas and diving to depths of more than 300 m (985 ft). Yet their tendency to feed on schools of tuna and to spend most of their time in relatively shallow waters makes them extremely vulnerable to industrial fishing.
