I once ride a YZ 85 large wheel, that thing was so tall and it had a lot of power/torque would kick you right back (in a good way). I was small at the time though I had to use a ladder to step up onto it, but even riding my 125cc it didn't have no where near the power of the yz85. I bet the yz450 rips hard ! yamaha I think has best torque and power out of all the bike brands
I wasn't talking about yz 125...I was talking about my 125cc that I own it's like a $800 discount bike I got off ebay lmao. I barely got to ride it soon as I bought it years ago they made pit bikes illegal in my country and it broke after a few rides, I got it fixed but after I got it fixed it came back twice as bad and it doesn't work anymore rip
That thing is calibrated properly.. i can tell, if people are doing highway speeds and your passing them and slowing down its obvious. people saying otherwise dont go 100+ that often
Yeah when I was neck and neck with cars the speedo said 76 mph which is what cars normally do in that section which has a speed limit of 65 mph. Cops are not usually in that stretch. This bike pulls like a mofo!
Check if the RPM count is in 2 stroke mode. Is it the kind youb wrap around the ignition cable next to the spark plug? 2t mode reads half because it expects a spark on every turn while the 4t fires once every 2 turns.
If it is a sensor yes, I think if you wrap-around I think not. But I know the Vapor had a 0.5, 1, 2 ppr pulse per rotation setting, so probably this one too. They might even have a list of manufacturers/models with the actual setting.
I understand every single moment of excitement after the 3:45 mark . I own a 250 myself and plan to make the same purchase in a few months. The 250's are capable of highway speeds. But no better feeling of having the extra power to get out of tight situations when necessary. Congrats Sir 👌 lovely 450
I worry about the transmission when I see a dirt bike converted for road use. Dirt and asphalt are two very different surfaces with completely different levels of load/stress being put on the internals. Off-road conditions generally allow for a good amount of slip/wheel spin during the entire duration of use. Paved roads on the other hand are basically a 100% traction surface that can generate a lot more torque back to the output shaft, shift forks, and gears under high power accelerations with quick/hard shifting. The yz’s transsmision design is perfect in the dirt but I wouldn’t trust it for many paved miles AT ANY SPEED with out at least a couple big dollar upgrades. Hinson Super Moto/slipper clutch and a rear wheel with the rubber damped hub would be not exactly cheap insurance, but solid coverage always comes at a premium. All my technical ranting aside the bike looks beautiful, and I hope she will bless you with many smiles for many miles! 😋
It has a cush hub, as do most SM kits. However, I think this is more of a "theoretical" problem that people worry about that isn't that much of an issue in the real world. For example, there's plenty of XRs (400, 650R/L) doing major road miles with zero transmission issues and they all don't have cush drives.
My old YZ426, with stock motocross gearing, would do 96mph by GPS. But it would hit the rev limiter in top gear, so obviously to go faster it would've needed higher gearing, like a smaller rear sprocket. That bike was so fast, man, as far as acceleration goes. I wish I had never sold it!
My WR250X indicated 106 mph one time trying to keep up with a pack of sport bikes. I was in a full tuck and it took a little longer to get there, but it did it!
Some of us just don't like riding in a herd..... I stop to pee/drink/eat/rest when I have to... Sometimes OK with being behind a slow car, sometimes have to overtake everyone ... Keep my own pace, keep my own peace. All that is gone when you have to comfort other people....
Hey cyclecruza great to see you having so much fun on the new whip dude. I've been watching your videos for a while now and you're by far the best motovlogger out there. I just got in my first accident on my cbr300r bc this old fart saw me blow a stop and wanted to teach me a lesson by swerving into my lane. Long story short I am all good and I rode the bike away from the accident in part thanks to you always emphasizing not to get discouraged or scared on the bike man
That looks like way too much fun! Not sure if you've mentioned it but what size rear sprocket do you have? If the Supermoto wheel and rubber has a smaller diameter then your original equipment, that will heat the bike down FYI. That thing's got some top speed! Be careful Cycle Cruiser going at those speeds on a windy day behind a big truck. That bike is so light it's going to get knocked around and possibly get some wobbles.
But why isnt your front wheel lifting on acceleration in 3dr n 4th... Did you purposly keep it down? Because when i open her up shell try to buck me of in an instant
Can that bike be ridden regularly in the freeway? I've heard that MX bikes will blow up in freeways since they're not meant for sustained high RPMs, and plus I knew some guys in my supermoto group who ride plated MX bikes, and they'll avoid freeways like a plague.
I believe it was close, I calibrated it using the wheel size calculator that another rider says is spot on. I will verify with my GPS when I get a chance.
Stephanie G the bike can easily do 100mph, I’d say it’s somewhat accurate. My ktm maxes out at 185km/h in supermoto trim, that’s 110-115mph. And my speedo is calibrated exactly.
Bro that thing is a beast.....Get a RAM phone mount for your handlebars and check out Ulysse Speedometer app, its got everything on that app even a compass all on one screen, badass........sumo life.....ride safe brother
You're going to grenade that motor riding it on the highway for extended periods of time. I'm sure you know it wasn't designed or built for that which is obvious judging from how frequent the oil changes are on it vs the wr250r. The WR is a bike you can ride across the world (and people have) with no issue, while the YZ probably wouldn't make it half way across the country without needing a full rebuild. But I know you didn't buy it for that, it's a great bike for short rides, urban hooligan riding, some off roading and around town stuff. I would definitely keep the WR for a long range, ultra reliable true dualsport.
This was just a video response to viewers who asked how it performed on the highway. As stated in the video, I have no intentions of riding the highway much on this bike. I bought this bike for urban hooligan fookery riding. However, this bike was a lot faster and smoother than I thought on the highway. This thing is a BEAST!
Head-shake is from clinging to the bars too hard. Let the bike stabilize itself via rake and trail dimensions. That looks like 100 mph to me, judging by traffic. If it's so sick on the highway, give the poor thing a shot of Pepto-Bismol.
@@CycleCruza That's great I figured it was probably the battery I'm happy to see you ripping on the supermoto and definitely looking forward to more videos thumbs up cycle cruza
You check the valve wit. Fealer gauge my experience is they will not be out for a long time very long you will just check them and they will be in spec the valve cover gasket is thick and can be re used several time s
Something is wrong with that speedo and tach, notice the speed number and RPMs randomly jumping around. check your wiring, I wonder if you have a wiring issue.
I have a ktm 500 and yes, i've hit 105 on the highway the other day. This video describes EXACTLY how I feel when I get on the bike. I scream like a little girl.
Do you recommend putting a stabilizer on a sm Yamaha? I recently purchased a 2019 yz450f I know you touched on the subject while riding but I need some expert advice. Thanks! Awesome looking bike!
I did not get this bike for the highway, just a city rip and urban fookery BUT I had to see how it was on the highway. It was beyond my expectations. The front wheel was stable!
That top speed looks possible, I had a plated 2004 WR450F that was uncorked with dot dirt tires and a 12 tooth front sprocket and it would hit 94 mph on the street! The power is a lot of fun, but off road the 450 was too top heavy for me. Enjoy the POWER!
I used to have a honda xr650r, i didnt supermoto it but i should have, that bike was amazing torque so fun to ride, allot heavier then yours but still so funnn!!. Now i have a honda cb919 hornet wich i love also but i really miss that go anywhere feeling, thinking maybe about getting a honda africa twin and modding it, or maybe a yamaha tracer 900 with upgraded suspension and dual sport wheels. Ahhhh i dunno i sure miss that feeling
Bike will blow quick from going that fast on highway don’t let the year fool you you will be surprised. I have a 16 Yz450F super moto 210 hours just change oil and get valves cleared every winter just hit wheelies and burn outs.
Yup I knew it !!! Even though iv never had a Su Mo I knew the combination light weight and great power and the fact that it is a Yamaha would be a blast as Su Mo , all your excitement and enthusiasm makes me want to get one!!!🤟🤟🤟
That Speedo is probably pretty close man. My ol r3 gets up to about 115 tops bro. I'm sure that 450 will do pretty close to that. Of course the gearing set up is different, but I'm willing to bet that you Speedo is pretty close. And one more thing bro, my bad for the shitty comment a while back. You might not even know what the hell I'm talking about, but either way, I man enough to say my bad. Was having a bad day which is no excuse to be rude to others. Nice freaking bike my dude. It's more entertaining to watch you ride this one rather than the Ducati. Bet it's more fun for YOU as well. ✌
No worries bro, I do the same sometimes in comments. lol I believe the speedo is accurate but I will verify via GPS. If you look at the cars when I am next to the it's the speed they usually do on this stretch that is 65 mpg. Most ride 70 mph.
That yz450 is waaay better then the wr250. You will fall in love with this bike more and more. The maintence ain't as bad as you think. Oil change. 10 mins and I bet your valves will stay in spec. these new bikes are built very good.
You also have to keep up with pistons. My plan is to do oil changes every few rides and clean the air filter, then have the engine checked and serviced once a year. I don't put a ton of miles on my bikes so it should be ok, my wr250r only has 2k miles since I got it in 2015! However, I will have the valves checked at 7 hours and then once a year after that. I want to learn to do the valves but I need to have someone show me, I don't want to mess up the engine trying it myself without instruction. lol
CC, listen to me on this one cos i had the same issue, ignore what the manual says on your current speedo, connect the speedo wire on to the positive on the ignition coil, trust me, wrapping it around doesn't work very well, it said the same for mine as yours, to wrap it around, and when we connected it directly it read perfectly and we are talking about a digital dash connected to a 1985 2-stroke
I ditched the Vapor and got the Striker that has a volt meter and low battery alarm. It has everything the Vapor has except the RPM gauge which I don't care much about anyways, I can feel and hear the bike's RPM.
You mean Oct 16? It said Dec 16 on video 🙁 FYI I’m building the same Supermoto, just with a KX450F, just to be different. Love your videos, keep up the good s&$#@! 👍
CRANK IT BABY YEA LMAO!!! Every time you hit 103-105 mph you downshifted...are you trolling us Cruza lol? remember to be safe smhlol and let it ride baby!

This bike is an animal, it's violent in a good way. It keeps you on your toes. Adrenaline machine.
The yz85 has like 25hp and the yz125 has 36hp... I rode Both, the yz85 tops out at like 55-60 And the yz125 at like 70 so your statement is false
I wasn't talking about yz 125...I was talking about my 125cc that I own it's like a $800 discount bike I got off ebay lmao. That is exactly correct. My sportster does that, and so does my DR650. They call it 'waste spark', but it does fire every stroke, intake and exhaust.
Most single cylinder 4 strokes use the wasted spark system. They all fire everytime at tdc, exactly like 2 strokes.
I live in GA but I’m from Parma, and I have family in Medina and Brookpark. I love watching your videos, they take me home. ❤️
Awsome video makes me want a bike that much more! Love the excitement! Your having way too much fun!!!
Whats the diference about yzf and yzfx?
I like your vids and love your bike.. but camo.... went out of style yeeaarrsss ago! Like tie-dye shirts!!
Ride safe 😂

250's are great still, I just love the low maintenance of the wr250r and can still do a little bit of everything on that bike.
Definitely an underrated moto (250's)
I told ya CC, Supermotos are awesome!!! I knew you'd love it!
So thats what CC means? Damn, for a 450 Cycle Cruza that is fast.

Oh no he forgot the edits 🤦🏻♂️
Lol he cursed. I don't care though
How come it’s not available to get for him? And KTM breaks way more than a Honda I worked at a KTM dealer. Lot of new KTMs get issues from what I saw
Use the hero 7 for ur video! Would love to see some 4k 30fps superview with hypersmooth!
man u r so happy when u r on ur bike! :)
I have an 01 wr426 with a 44 tooth sprocket yet hit highway but it still pulls great
My WR250X indicated 106 mph one time trying to keep up with a pack of sport bikes. I was in a full tuck and it took a little longer to get there, but it did it!
Hey cyclecruza why don't you ride with anyone?
Good question
He rides with us, that what's really matters
Some of us just don't like riding in a herd..... I stop to pee/drink/eat/rest when I have to... Sometimes OK with being behind a slow car, sometimes have to overtake everyone ... Keep my own pace, keep my own peace. All that is gone when you have to comfort other people....
Cycle cruza is a lone wolf plus he likes to keep his identity confidential I think he did a video on this awhile back
He’s done videos on it
Hey cyclecruza great to see you having so much fun on the new whip dude. I've been watching your videos for a while now and you're by far the best motovlogger out there. I just got in my first accident on my cbr300r bc this old fart saw me blow a stop and wanted to teach me a lesson by swerving into my lane. Long story short I am all good and I rode the bike away from the accident in part thanks to you always emphasizing not to get discouraged or scared on the bike man
Btw I was fully GEARED UP otherwise I woulda had a reaaal fuct up day
Thanks man! Great to hear you came out ok bro. You have to stay sharp out here, too many fools on their smartphones these days. Stay safe bro!
you should have seen his surprise when the cop said he was at fault for the accident! some people just really live in their own world
Awesome CC so happy for you bro enjoy and great choice !!! 😜👍🇦🇺
You should pimp out a Vespa...💪🏾 Lol
I've tapped mine on the beach on dirt tyres haha would of been 150km easy
I’m waiting for you to say Dynamite 😂. (Good times) nice video cycle cruza
Yeap. " Dyyyyy nOOO MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE te" Good Times. Good memories.
CycleCruza you gotta put some time into learning how to properly wheelie. I promise you will have a blast.
I believe it’s accurate... I think it did hit 105. Look at the other cars on the side of you.
My yz450f 2011 hits 98 stock bout it rebuilt so maybe it’s big bore
Yeh at the end of the ride you’ll have to rebuild the whole engine if it’s not already blown😂
Hey there....fab bike..what's maintenance and reliability like?
From the Medina area it’s honestly pretty cool seeing you ride in around the area!!
I got 107mph on a 14/50 sprocket with my 2005 wr450f carbed... You should be able to reach roughtly 110 no problem
I agree, all the oil gets pumped up into the top end then a rod starts knocking...
Triple digits on a dirt bike lol. That shit is just plain unnecessary. I love it!
Perhaps your speedometer is showing kilometres per hour instead of miles because I don't believe that you were doing 105mph.
Ya when he was doing 103 he was hardly going any faster then the cars next to him
I believe it was close, I calibrated it using the wheel size calculator that another rider says is spot on. I will verify with my GPS when I get a chance.
I doubt its reading kilometers, 100k is only 63 mph. You're a lot faster than that.
It may be showing 105 but...with 17 inch wheels. ..it's doing less.
Maybe 94....my CRF 250 does 84 with the 18 and 21 on front. Yawn! Cyclelooza! !!!
Stephanie G the bike can easily do 100mph, I’d say it’s somewhat accurate. My ktm maxes out at 185km/h in supermoto trim, that’s 110-115mph. And my speedo is calibrated exactly.
300k subs congratulations
How do u afford so many different bikes???????
Rip WR 250
stock gearing? 100+mph
What other dual sport helmets did u have I never seen no other ones
Bro that thing is a beast.....Get a RAM phone mount for your handlebars and check out Ulysse Speedometer app, its got everything on that app even a compass all on one screen, badass........sumo life.....ride safe brother
Thanks for the recommendation bro! I'll check it out!
1:33 ask a police officer to verify that
What sprockets you using on it?
I love your bike! I want to build one like it some day
What motard mirrors are these?
What about a 500 two stroke?
Link for the mirrors?
say goodbye to the WR
Head-shake is from clinging to the bars too hard. Let the bike stabilize itself via rake and trail dimensions.
That looks like 100 mph to me, judging by traffic. If it's so sick on the highway, give the poor thing a shot of Pepto-Bismol.
I will verify it via GPS when I get a chance.
I've done the same thing with a motorcycle I used to have, and used Healtech Speedohealer calibrator.
December 16, 2018 is on a Sunday.
dang wrong date. I meant oct 16. lol
Like a kid in an arcade lol
love the video cycle cruza, i knew you would do something for precaution for the battery .You should be good to go from here on out
No issues, I fully charged the battery and it is staying charged. The stator works great. I run daytime light with no issues.
Dude lol you crack me up makes me want a 450fx seems like you love the darn bike definitely making me want one now 💯
my cheap afx41 helmet doesnt catch win
yeah but does your helmet weigh 2 lbs 12 ounces? This is the lightest DS helmet on the market. It's made in Italy.
Noice. Very Noice
Mr HiViz safety Shirley passing people on the right doing 100 on a bike he doesn't even know if it will have head shake or not?
Best channel on UA-cam. I'm commenting just to boost your vid's numbers.
Do you recommend putting a stabilizer on a sm Yamaha? I recently purchased a 2019 yz450f I know you touched on the subject while riding but I need some expert advice. Thanks! Awesome looking bike!
It will blow up. Wr250r ftw. Remember this comment
NzJohny ehhh to new give it a few years before this comment become relevant
Oh kids. Buy a dr650. Xr650r. Xr650l. Wr250r. Which you have never owned. Then come back to me
I did not get this bike for the highway, just a city rip and urban fookery BUT I had to see how it was on the highway. It was beyond my expectations. The front wheel was stable!
@@CycleCruza I know you cycle cruza dont worry. I know you thinking what I think ;)
NzJohny, get lost
Did he say that bike only holds half a quart of oil? Wow! My XT500 would run highway speeds but it vibrated too much above 60 mph.
You cover your speed you could get ticket or go to jail
I will say it was not calibrated correctly. lol
That top speed looks possible, I had a plated 2004 WR450F that was uncorked with dot dirt tires and a 12 tooth front sprocket and it would hit 94 mph on the street! The power is a lot of fun, but off road the 450 was too top heavy for me. Enjoy the POWER!
you should switch your gopro's.. use the gopro's 7 advantage of image stabilization by putting it on your helmet rather than on the steering wheel.
Ahhhh i dunno i sure miss that feeling
the way you laugh is awesome and i can see how excited you are lol - i want one of these toys too now, Ride safe, cheers
For road use the Factory really have to put a 6 Gear i know all the monocilinder are blowing on highway
Are you from around north royalton Ohio? I live by Cleveland and would love to ride with you sometime!
I have a 16' 450 FX and my personal best speed was 73 mph along a beach in Oregon.
Now I want one! I would so trade my 2015 636 for this bike!
That laughter is contagious aha.
Know how you feel! Wait till you hit some tight twisty roads and you see what the bike can really do!
Yeah that rpm reading goes up after you release the throttle.
my 701 would do 120mph no problem - jus sayin
I want to learn to do the valves but I need to have someone show me, I don't want to mess up the engine trying it myself without instruction. lol
The Yamaha is certainly sweet wonder how much it cost to get it street legal
A little less than $500!
my bad, this tuesday! Nice! best of luck with the sumo build bro!
CRANK IT BABY YEA LMAO!!! Every time you hit 103-105 mph you downshifted...are you trolling us Cruza lol?
remember to be safe smhlol and let it ride baby!
5th all the way, no downshift. JUST CRANKING IT!
I enjoy how you enjoy your bike. It’s hilarious.
Do you have a temperature sensor to prevent overheating?
Nice bike, but the maintenance kills it for me.
