Nice and timely video. We need more of these - especially ones that focus on presentations. I am a professor at large public institution with 500+ students. In this crunch with everyone trying to get up to speed with online teaching and presentations zoom looks like a great option. If I only had bought their stock a few months back... retirement would have been possible.

Very informative, as usual, so thanks! I would appreciate some advanced guidance: I screen share movies for a meetup group, and the video and/or audio quality sometimes is not as good as what I'm seeing on my desktop. I've found and implemented some tweaks for Zoom and my Windows 10, but any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Another app called Watch2Gether has better video/audio quality, but the only videos I can share are those on UA-cam, and many of the indie or foreign films I screen share are not available on that platform. Thank you so much for all your excellent videos, and I hope you can shed some light on this issue for me.

I have never used it before and I might need to use Zoom for an interview in a few days time. I want to use the virtual backgrounds but it keeps saying "A solid colour video background is required.". I could hardly see my face in the virtual background and it's asking for a green background which I don't have. Help! :)
Do you have video on Zoom set up hurdles. So many people say they can't get on meetings. Finding Microsoft Edge is a pain to get work. But it seems people get into a loop in set up.
Can you use Zoom, to charge clients per minute? We are working on a website, to start a hotline and want to know if Zoom could be used for that purpose. It's not for any kind of sex thing, lol.
Kevin, can you make a video for Zoom participants only. I can help you to be your participant for example. Some of the problems are: contact invitation sent, they don’t know where to accept it. How to make zoom events from calendar from participants view. Even how to change Gallery view during meeting or hide Meeting control or request remote control. Where to set up and how to use Google calendar when it’s shared with you. How and where to look at the meeting information. Pretty much everything that Zoom not letting us to see on other end when we share a screen. Please 🙏🏻

Hi Kevin, thanks for your zoom sharing (I watched 2 of your videos on zoom & many others). On Zoom: when I used my personal virtual background, I realized the image behind me was reversed (left to right, right to left - this didn't sit well when I have text on the virtual background) - how do I reverse it? secondly my image on video would get distorted or the fingers don't show well, hence I clicked 'I have green screen' but when I did that. My virtual background went back to my actual background and not the jpeg image background I wanted. How do I fix that?

Sure thing! It works on Linux as well: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/204206269-Installing-Zoom-on-Linux I haven't personally used StreamYard before, although it appears to be more focused on broadcasting while Zoom is more focused on meeting and collaborating.
When someone invite us to join zoom Do we just click on the link that they invite? For the phone we have to download app, right? But what about computer? =*excuse me using zoom on computer, do we have to download zoom or just click on the link host invite?

With S mode you're limited to apps in the Microsoft Store, which unfortunately doesn't have Zoom. I'd go ahead and take it out of S mode if you'd like to install and run Zoom. Outside of S mode, you can install any traditional win32 app outside of the Microsoft Store. You're a little more at risk for malware since you can install all types of apps outside of the store, but no more than if you had a standard Windows 10 computer. Hope that helps!

Title is kinda not doing justice to the video. Just judging by the title (and this is what 99% of people do 99% of the time deciding which video to watch) I'd have assumed that this is only a guide on how to get zoom for free, not also a tut on how to use it effectively. Would adapt the title. That might explain the relatively low view number of that video compared to your other "how tos". Especially given that in corona times, a tool like zoom is even more demanded and thus the view number should be much higher.
