    Big like great to show all areas of Bohol will have a look at your playlist which do you rate as the second biggest city in Bohol ?

      Thanks Terrance. Tubigon or Calape would probably be my choice after Tagbilaran City.

      Ubay is a larger town than I thought it would be Wayne. We spent much of a day and night there and it seems like a decent place.

    I like your reviews and your style. Something I personally can not stand in UA-cam reviews is where the reviewer seems more interested in getting their face on the screen than showing me the product or location I am interested in. I don’t care what they look like or what color their skin is.
    Keep up the good work. I am retiring to the Philippines next year, and trying to decide which part to retire in. For now, I really like Iloilo. Big enough with excellent facilities, but without the pollution and traffic chaos of Manila and Cebu.

    Do one on Naga and Carcar City Rod. It'll be interesting considering their closeness to Cebu City. You can show the seaside plazas with the franchise restaurants.

    I love small towns even here in our old state of MN Rod. I wonder though how you cope with the summer heat over there.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  5 років тому

      I thought the humidity would be my biggest problem here John but I have adapted. It can get quite hot and humid at times like now in May, our hottest month, average mid 90's. Much of the years we are closer to 87 for highs and that makes a difference. Many people from the SE USA and even Houston will say it is hotter and more humid there and I have experienced that. I also remember some very hot oppressive summer days in August in Minnesota. I have had a backup generator in 3 of the units I lived in here so that is important when the electric goes out.

    • @Bukinoy
      @Bukinoy 5 років тому

      Glad you had you have adapted Rod. It seems too that you are having lots of fun. I find that I miss Philippines when I'm here in St Paul like right now but I also miss MN when I'm there. Do you experience the same ?

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  5 років тому

      @@Bukinoy I stay pretty busy John so I don't miss too much of Arizona or Minnesota. I may miss the convenience of getting almost anything you want in 24 hours though. I have more American and foreign friends here than in the US so that helps also. There are groups of expats for different activities. You might check out Cebu Expats fb page. Free to join. There is one of more walking, bowling and golfing clubs also.

    Hi Rod. Thanks for showing that there's more to Bohol than Alona Beach, Tagbilaran City, Chocolate Hills and Tarsiers like almost everyone else has been doing. I've heard that one of the best ways to find an apartment for rent is to ride around a neighborhood that interests you and look for "for rent" signs. Did you see many (any?) in your brief travels in Ubay? Does it look like there's an active rental market?

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  5 років тому

      It seems like there are fewer foreigners in Ubay that Talibon up the road a bit Dan. That can be a good thing as they haven't raised rental prices yet. Word of mouth and posters or banners are the favorite ways to advertise in much of the Philippines so it would probably be best if you find a Filipino to help you search and negotiate. I did see a couple of signs with phone numbers on fences.
      I have been to Alona Beach and watched several videos about Chocolate Hills and Tarsiers so my plan was to explore the Bohol that most people do not see.

    Ubay is the main port town for picking up a banca to Southern Leyte.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  5 років тому

      That makes sense. It was pretty dark by the time we wondered out towards the port so there wasn't much going on.

      exactly right ... if you go to that area,ubay is the gateway ... I remember my aunt who's originally from there & they usually take that route going to maasin city ..... anyway rod, when you speak english to the locals always speak slowly,so they'll understand you better ..... remember,the movie "rush hour",the scene where the characters of jackie chan & chris tucker met the 1st time ..... chris tucker said to jackie chan "do you understand the words that coming from my mouth " ..... you can tell he speaks slowly so jackie chan (his character) can understand him really good ..... that how you talk to the locals, always speak slowly ..... mabuhay !!!!!!
