Hi, Rachel! Sadly, much of material in "Christian" bookstores is just humanistic goobly-goop and steers people away from Christ. I personally choose to read only the Bible when it comes to learning about God. Discernment is crucial! Thanks for that reminder! You look absolutely beautiful, by the way 🙂
I would strongly recommend not writing off all Christian resources since there are a lot of brilliant ones out there by people who have studied God's word more deeply than you or I ever could! Thinking of people like C. S. Lewis, John Bunyan etc. there is a lot of value in learning from those who dedicated their life to understanding God's word in its entirety. But you're right, a lot of current Christian resources are written by people who read their Bible occasionally the way a regular working Christian would rather than by people who have dedicated their lives to truely knowing God's word as their main job!
@DustAndGraceASMR Yeah, i can agree to that. I guess what i meant is the Bible is always the absolute truth and standard. I love your content and channel, Rachel! I wish all of you a fantastic Thanksgiving. Oh, wait. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? Anyway, love and prayers to all of you 🙂
Too funny…funny God….. I agree with everything you said, NOW! I had to learn the hard way. I used this book for years. When I wasn’t getting what I expected it made me angry. It made me see the error in my ways. I am reminded that I knowingly removed this book from my home. God is good and He doesn’t want women to submit to men that are not submitted to Him. I know that He is still working in me to know who He really is. I have no clue what will happen next. It’s all for maturity in knowing Him. The real purpose of this life. I comment. I will like this video so that the algorithm puts this to as many people as possible. Thank you so much for this. I did use it to fall asleep last night but God woke me enough times to get the main points. I relistened this morning to write the nuggets in my journal. I ask Holy Spirit to solidify this teaching in my entire being!!!! Thank You Lord!!!!
Amen!! The Lord never asks us to submit to people who would have us act against what the Lord commands. Absolutely we can pray for change in our spouse but sometimes the Lord has a different plan. All for the glory of the Lord 🙏

I'm not sure if you're disagreeing with the author (Stormie) or Paul himself 😅 here is what the Bible says on the topic; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 ESV [7] To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. [8] For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, [9] to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, [10] to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. [11] All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. bible.com/bible/59/1co.12.7-11.ESV
The church is the Catholic Church and it has the apostolic authority to bind and loose. It wouldn't even make sense to say all churches have that authority since they disagree on everything.
When the Bible refers to the "church" it's referring to the body of Christ: all who believe in Jesus as saviour. Not a specific denomination or congregation 🙏🧡
@DustAndGraceASMR I disagree. Jesus said upon this rock I will build my church. St Peter was the first pope and the church built was the Catholic Church.
@@KH-vp4ni for that to be true you have to have ignored the whole point of the Bible, that there is no longer any division, no Jew no Greek no gentile, only unity in Christ. In that same vein there is no division of Catholic, Jew, Pentecostal or gentile, only unity in Jesus and the body of Christ.
@DustAndGraceASMR The unity in Christ is following Christ's Church. Jesus didn't say I made a bunch of different churches. You can certainly believe in Christ and be saved and not be a part of his church, but the fullness of truth comes from the church Christ himself founded. Why would I follow a man named Luther or Calvin or any other man and not follow Christ directly? Jesus Christ gave authority to the apostles. Why not choose to be in the apostolic church?
I like your videos and content however, I feel that you’re being pretty harsh on some of Stomie’s thoughts. Of course she’s not implying that God would resurrect marriages to make us happy but I’ve read this book and through a lot of challenges, trials and submission God did resurrect our marriage as we both sought him individually and together as a couple. Don’t forget that God gates divorce too. He brings dead things to life. And sometimes marriages are dead and he can work in both by his spirit to resurrect / I’ve witnessed it myself. So I personally don’t find it out of context. You mention a woman who married and unbelieving man and spent her life praying for his salvation - that’s an entirely different story than two Christian’s who’s love has gone cold due to trials and challenges. God speaks to things and calls them to life and Into being and when marriages are struggling, all a spouse might have is a promise from the Bible like this one that God can make things new, he can revive hearts as they both submit to him and can resurrect whatever he wants to that will glorify his name including people and marriages
To clarify, just because God CAN make things new does not mean He will make new the specific situation you want him to change. If the scripture read, "God will resurrect marriages" that would be a different story. We know he will resurrect people who believe in him, because the scriptures say he will. The scripture she used from memory was not speaking about marriage or changing physical earthly situations to something we would prefer. That was more what I was getting at. As I said in the video, I like and agree with a lot of Stormie's thoughts and ideas. What I don't like is how the scriptures are being used out of context as promises when it's no such thing. God's ways are higher than ours and his plans are better, so sometimes he won't change the situation or make the marriage better. Again, he CAN change the situation, but that's absolutely not the same as him promising that he will. That situation I spoke about was not a woman marrying an unbeliever. It was two Christians, but the husband through the years and a number of trials strayed from God. Through the wife's faithfulness even in separation, constant prayer and kindness, he was cared for in illness and returned to Christ before he died.
@@benhilt3124 this format works best for me. I struggle to relax and find ASMR helpful. Other people do too. There is a lot of secular ASMR, but some people prefer to relax to God's word instead. I also struggle to speak at a normal volume for long periods of time so making these kinds of videos is what works best for me.
@ then maybe read a story? The Bible and learning how to study it shouldn’t be trivialized which is what ASMR or any other “brand” gimmick does to Gods word. There’s a reason preachers speak from a pulpit and not whisper in peoples ears.
Your hair looks so pretty!

Amazing video from Turkey! May I ask, what is your denomination? :)
I don't have a denomination, but I currently attend a Baptist church if that helps 😅

I’m sure this is the reason that the apostles were tortured and died for the faith, so that we could make goofy ASMR videos.
I'm not sure that teaching people how to read with biblical discernment is the most goofy of topics....
@ why not do it in a normal fashion without a gimmick?
