Castles of Mad King Ludwig has been a classic for a long time, but never actually played it yet. Based on your enthusiasm, I'm going to play it soon :)
Mini review time ❤ every time I see "board game bites" my mind makes it "bagel bites" 😂 Cat in the Box is great. I am xbad at it - but that's not different to any other game, so that's ok 😅 I think Lovestruck, Castles and Alice's Garden don't do it for me even though I would love to try the second one and give it a chance to prove me wrong. Sparks seems to be less of a game and more of a... trust exercise? Depending on how deep the questions go maybe an icebreaker as well. But I guess it is great with the right group of people. As always: Loved the video and can't wait for the next one ❤
Let’s gooo!! My wife and I watch all your videos. Stoked to see what games are next! Random question, where did you get your shelves? I need some for my office and those are great😂
Thanks for introducing us to Root, we are obsessed with Root now! Have you heard about the new factions at gemcon Frogs & Bats? Whats your favourite faction to play?
To improve your German accent just practice by saying 'Streichholzschächtelchen". Easy :) Also I do legit hold the opinion that trick taking is a bad game mechanic, hands down. While I do enjoy Arcs a lot that is very much *despite* the trick taking element - and I have yet to see any game centered on trick taking that I was willing to spend my time playing. Not judging people who do enjoy it obviously but personally, I just cannot bring myself to respect this particular mechanic in any way whatsoever.
I’m not typically a fan of the mechanic either, but cat in a box is an exception for me. I feel like there is more in control because you get to choose the suite. Also, you can get points for predicting the number of tricks you win.
I think you are playing Cat in the Box wrong. Are you discarding a card at the beginning of the round and only playing until you have 1 card left in your hand. You aren't supposed to play every card in your hand. Also, the picture of the board at 2:02 is wrong, you should have more spaces than that. If you are playing 5 players (only time you play with the 9 cards) you should have 9s for every color.
@@fsu120 We are playing it that way! Sorry, the board is set up from our last game and then I was just trying to show off the components by adding more hands in my B-roll! But you’re right, I should have thought about that before filming!
@@AfterEvenfall It's not a problem. I just wanted to make sure you were playing it right since those 1st two rules I mentioned are something that people mess up a lot on their 1st play.
I love alices garden! I tried it out at gen con 2023 and picked it up at target. Its puzzley enough but relaxing in a way

Thank you so much! I totally agree about Cat in the Box. It's an objectively good game, I'm just super bad at it :p

I haven't heard about that, but now I'm going to have to look more into it! Right now, my favorite faction is the Eyrie!
I’m very interested in the Castles game! Definitely going on my list.
It's so fun, I love it!
