I have been watching this more than once a day for over two weeks. I thought Bellydance was all about precise movements and a highly controlled frame. Bare skin and skinny shimmying women with a routine planned out. No this...this is Bellydance. It's so raw and she feels EVERY beat of the drums with her soul. No amount of practice will allow you to truly master this form of dance. It's truly something you feel. For me at least. Colonizers tried to strip this of Bellydance. They told us what moves were appealing and what to wear when doing it. No. Just dance and feel the music like no one is watching. Sounds cliche, but it holds water. I've danced like this all my life in private and seeing her being praised for doing what I do makes me feel like maybe I should just keep dancing like this at home and watching people like her just doing what they love. She has inspired me so much. Rest in peace and dance in glory forever, BEAUTIFUL, wiggly sis!💃
I learned oriental dance for more than 25 years, practice with a lot of choreographer, one said that a "belly dancer" is outdated after 30 years old... So mean... You put the exact words on this performance, so "brutal", authentic, precise and powerful. These skills cannot be taught and even less being choreographed.. My cherished moment of all time was a dance lesson given by Suheir Zaki in Cairo years ago. I could only stare with stars in the eyes at this monument, dancing so beautifully, even if she had to stop and rest often due to health problems. The flame was engraved in her body. Deep respect to these absolute queens, that were able to perpetuate this genius dance power, being the bright and precious pearls in the heart of the oyster shell, composed by the great musicians around them. May these films perpetuate this sacred spirit.
Mmm Hmm... 💯% I agree. This form of Belly Dancing is impressive. 💖Azza Sherif is performing with such Grace, that I can feel it too. She is mesmerizing.🧚♂I first discovered her this week. !WOW! pretty much sums up how I feel observing her dance.
@@robertleobrown5656 Yes! She FEELS it so much! She's even singing along to the music in the beginning! It does look more natural and less sexualized. The second paragraph is absolutely correct when it comes to all cultures the C’s deem exotic. When Beyoncé performed in the Arab world she was fully dressed and made less sexualized moves that’s why I know you know what you’re talking about. Belly dance on and on dear lady. 🙌🏽💃🏻
As an Egyptian, I was born with a talent for traditional dancing. This dance is truly joyful, and from the dialect, the style of the dance, and the clothes, I think it could be Bedouin or from Upper Egypt, and those are regions in Egypt.
Of course there must be similarities between us as North African countries. Even in Egypt there are clothes similar to Morocco and Algeria, but they are older and there is a big difference between them. However, as for the dance, oriental dancing originated in Egypt, but in the governorates of Egypt. There are many forms of dancing that differ from one region to another. When I looked at the jewelry, I thought it was from southern Egypt, but if we look at the fast, cheerful dance, the clothes, and also the singer’s dialect and the type of music, I think it is from the Siwa region. It is a Bedouin dance.@@samirahcini4144
