Excellent video . Wish I saw this before trying to fault find on a ground fault which ended up being a birds nest around a connector which was like mud and water saturated. We spotted the next once lifting the third panel. The wiring was dasied under the next panel so bad install and bolts were over tightened by the installer. 11 year old bolts were dufficukt to remove . The voltage test would of pin pointed the problem. Thanks for very informative video.

After getting an RV tech to do a repair on my surge protector system (basically eliminating it, hooking the wires together in a box) I'm getting a 'ground fault' situation when I plug my 'tester' into the electrical plug inside our coach. With that said, my Xantrex inverter is supplying power to the batteries and charging them. I checked all my GFI plugs, and all seem to be fine. All the breakers are fine (didn't check all fuses though) and prior to having this issue where 120V to my built in Progressive surge protector, where it had 120V going in..but nothing coming out, I decided to use a different surge protector at the pedestal source....so the RV tech used connectors to connect all wires inside a large plastic box. I now have a 'ground fault' after all this, and mystified as to where the issue is? Was it with his wiring (never had any kind of fault previously) and I have nothing other than the tester in any of the electrical outlets. I've called the RV Tech (hoping to get him out tomorrow) to come and do some tests as to where the problem is. I have no solar panels, this is just within the 12V and 120V RV system. As mentioned, there has been no changes to the electrical system, other than hooking all the red 6 gauge wires, black 6 gauge wires and white 6 gauge wires and the ground together within the box. They have a plastic type connector, where he also wrapped them with electricians tape...other than the ground, as there is a small bolt hooking the two connectors together. Any ideas where to start? I've gotten no indication on my Xantrex panel as to a fault, only on my 'LED tester' stating there is a ground fault. My Panel just states my batteries are at float charge.

Can you do more training videos on commissioning testing and readings. And more videos on fault finding...it saves hours over the phone

Why is it that the gfi tripps when plugging in a coach? And where do I get a manual that didn't come with the solar trailer.

What if you get a blown fuse and when you test voltage from positive to ground and negative to ground you get 0V for both? What would have caused the blown fuse since it seems it's not a ground fault?

How can I find SMA repair guy in my area? I live on Long Island NY. Went to SMA website and it was confusing and to a point useless. My installer went out of business.. I have fault code 4301. I keep clearing it but keeps coming back

Thanks for sharing and I watched is 5X today, my delta 6.6 to inverter kept faulting for Earth Fault, cannot reset it. My reading are as follows, Phase A 446 VDC, Ph A Pos to Grd 6.1V. and Ph A Neg to Grd is 6.3V. Now my Phase B is 444 VDC, Ph B pos to Grd 238V and Ph B neg to grd 195 v, Now my question is which Phase is faulting, my guess is Phase B, please help, thank you.
