Very good album I really think its a gothenburg master peice. To me its a best of all of swedens melodic death metal bands rolled into one super group.
Cool review dude! Agree 100% as far as the "golden age" In Flames era is concerned. I might be a bit biased cause Whoracle kicked it all off for me, but IMO it's the time between The Jester Race and Clay Man when IF were at their best. As for the new THE album, it's good but that's it, no more no less. In a way it sounds a bit like a part 2 of the debut. Like they are playing it a bit too safe overall. If you take away the IF and DT fame, it's just another MDM record in my book. If you want kickass new Melo Death with a proper throwback feel I'd suggest Majesties, Thermality or This Ending. Btw Niclas Engelin also was in In Flames in 1997 and 1998 but I guess not long enough to be considered a permanent member. Still, to some extend he was part of the golden era ;)
Im a huge In Flames fan and a big DT one.. I think THE is just boring, this second album is a bit better in my book but nah, enjoyed both Endtime signals and Foregone way more. And those who compares this to like Colony, thats just a joke..

It is a very solid melodic death metal release. Great review Tom.
Thanks dude! Yeah solid at that. I went in with very high expectations though and probably should have kept them lower haha
