My favorite part is that it's my guitar that I get to have and show off now.

The art is gorgeous but I want to just applaud your choice of music by the end; you can clearly hear the guitar in that song which is perfect for close up photos of your painted guitar!

Its so beautiful. I think the way the teal took over made it a little more ocean that galaxy, but i love it none the less. I think both concepts convey the same feelings of unknowable and awe inspiring beauty. I also admire your confidence in working with a guitar, even a beat up one is still worth a lot and is much more complicated a shape than a canvas.

i do like how it goes down the sides as well. It would be cool to see a set of these on stage.

Great job. I've been doing fluid art of guitars for a while now and here are some tips that will help improve your guitar art.
What i do first is sand the guitar down first. If you don't, then the paint will not have much to stick to and is more prone to cracking.
You took the strings off, taped the bridge and the pickguard and taped some of the neck and fretboard so you can pick it up and tilt the paint. Bravo 👏.
After you paint the guitar and let it dry, you should spray it with something, like clear gloss spray so you can help protect the paint job and bring the colors out more.
If you are going to do an electric guitar, I'd do a Strat body guitar: they're easier than doing most other guitar bodies in this style.
    Cheers 🍻

Thank you for your post. I am making an acoustic Bass and will be doing Paint Pour on the top and sides for the finish. I will also be using resin to seal it all. So glad to see this work and for all your tips and letting me know the quantities you used. The acoustic bass is for my daughter in law she wanted a pink guitar so it will predominantly be pinks with a few extra colours. I haven't decided on the pour method I will be choosing yet for my bass.

The guitar looks great. Kind of a shame the Dioxazine and Magenta got lost. I love using those colors in my own painting. Well, I prefer the related Quinacridone Rose over Magenta, but still. I think it turned out pretty good, though.

I have a small one I have been wanting to paint and thought about doing a pour on it like this. Mine has a lacquer like finish on it but some of that had been scratched so I probably should sand and prime it but I am too anxious to just paint it and dont want to have to wait. Id be interested to know how well the paint has held up on this since you did it. I am just going to hang mine on the wall to put flowers in for deco.

Looks amazing! One question though... Wasn't there a taped up section to the right of the hole?

    • @PushingUpRosesArt
      @PushingUpRosesArt  4 роки тому +1

Yes, that is the pick guard! It is still taped off under the paint but I love that area so much, I am not sure if I wanna remove it. If I seal it with resin, it won't matter. Still thinking on it. :)

Beautiful work. I am getting ready to paint my bass and looking for ideas. I really like this pour technique, your color palate looks great for me, not too much blue at all!
So all the paints are latex? Are they all blended to the same viscosity, or are they different so they don't blend in the cup? Please excuse my questions, I have never done a pour technique so I know nothing.
Thanks for the inspiration: I see no reason why I can't give it a try myself.

The guitar is beautiful. Did you paint the back or tape it off? I’m painting an acoustic guitar for a school fine art auction. Did you take the strings off and put them back on? I appreciate the feedback. Thank you

ORCHID HELP!!! Hey, Roses! I love you, but my heart did die a little when you mentioned your orchid dying... Then ice 🙃 so, I wanted to help you and others with their next orchid!
    1. DON'T EVER PUT ICE ON YOUR ORCHID! They are tropical plants and ice, even cold water, can burn their roots.
    2. Put them in bright indirect light, or at least 6' away from a full sun window.
    3. Soak them 5-10 minutes a week/when roots appear silver and then well drain!
That's it! The most popular orchid is the phalenopsis (moth orchid) and that steps apply to them! They flower once the temperature drops in winter with blooms lasting from weeks to months!

At what point did you take the tape off? When the paint was still wet? Or after the paint had completely dried? Was it a challenge to get off and still leave the paint intact? I have an old guitar that I bought for $25 that has been waiting for me to decide what to paint on it.

Being an avid guitar lover, this video worried me ... until I saw that it was a Rogue guitar. The paint job most likely improved the sound quality.
In all honesty, this turned out beautifully. Probably the best you've done on this channel! I'd love to see you take a stab at doing this on a Fender Strat or Tele.
P.S. - Don't buy Rogue guitars. They play terribly and sound equally as bad.

"If I did this on an electric guitar there wouldn't be any difference really"
Uh oh. Get ready for a bunch of "bUt ToNeWoOd" neckbeards to "um ackshually" if this makes it over the the guitar side of UA-cam.

Really lovely guitar though. It should still sound fine. I painted over my acoustic guitar with a thick layer of oil paints and it still sounds basically the same as it did before.

Nothing worse than music snobs. Electrics do better with this form of painting over all. I obviously can't promise anything, but after talking to a lot of guitar people, a few experts in their feel, they did assure me that an electric that doesn't rely on a hollow body wouldn't be much of an issue.
