The way McCartney puts together baselines is amazing. He has true mastery over the instrument, as well as an incredibly creative mind. What a great combination.
McCartney is indeed the master of the bass riffs. Never repeats a riff two times in a row...ever. There’s always a slight variation of some sort. He is a genius.
People always shit on the Beatles as if their songs aren't the most fun to play. Absolute masters of music, and this cover is great. this guy is very lively, very fun
Nádia Goulart I disagree. I personally think the drums on this track really make it what it is, alongside with John’s amazing voice. Although, I do love the bass. I find it very catchy and really cool to listen to😊
Danny Zafar you’re right but i’d add that the bass kind of puts a different feel in every verse and that makes the song progress despite it being so repetitive
I just watched 3 botched up messy covers of this song before coming across this one. Absolutely the best bass cover of this song I can find. Outstanding! My favorite McCartney bass line too!
Really nice cover. This is what a cover should be- a tribute to the song. It's obvious from all the bends and grace notes that you didn't just read off tab but took the time to learn the musicality of the song, which is not easy.
I've been looking for this particular song because the bass line is so perfect and i can't beilive what i am whatching! you are perfect! you are a really good bass player! congratulations! you deserve million views at least!
Excellent! Man, you've got it down! Great robust, warm, clean Rick tone... Thanks for highlighting the brilliance of Paul McCartney...from a fellow Rickenbacker bass player.
You do the string bending perfectly (03:20) and that walk down perfectly at 04:04 . I just wonder if you should have used only the neck pickup on the pickup selector switch. I didn't think McCartney ever used the bridge pickup during the Beatles years.
This song is like a playground to me on the bass. I’ve only been playing for half a year (in a few days six months exactly), but I’ve been able to mess around with this song in ways I can’t with other songs yet. I can switch parts, change up the picking, and even just try something totally different and after a couple play-throughs, I can get it to sound decent. The repetitive nature of it helps a lot for sure, but it also just feels so much more malleable than any other line I know. Dunno why exactly
Flawless performance! You also use a lot of vibrato that McCartney also apparently used a lot too (which is clear if you listen to his isolated bass tracks).
Excelent touch and feel man, also the sound you get is great and sounds really like Paul! What a genius, this song is amazing but the bass stands alone, the key element of the song, without it nothing in the track is the same! I'd love to hear your versions of Hey Bulldog or Everybody has something to hide except for me and my monkey. Also check Early morning cold taxi by The Who, I'm sure you'll nail it.
helterskelter you basically just slide down from the 20th fret and pick 4 times while you’re sliding. In terms of sliding and picking speed, just keep watching at 2:02 and try to copy it.

That's right
I heard Harrison played bass on this track
@@papaaaron7058 This is undoubtedly Paul. Listen to the isolated bassline.
@@papaaaron7058 that's impossible George can't come up with that bassline
No, he wasnt even on lead guitar John was

McCartney is a GREAT bass player and this is a terrific cover of his lines. Very fine indeed.

I love how the bass is the magic of this song 😍

the george and johns guitars are the magic of the song for me. even though all the instruments of whole song are absolute bliss
Yeah, agree. The bassline is amazing. Paul's a genius.

The right notes at the right times on the right bass!

2:22 my favorite part
Indeed
Gorgeous looking and sounding bass 😍
Thank you!
Beatles at their peak.
funny you say that, because that was their last song as a band
They knew when to get out. Few bands do that. The Police were another one that knew when the time had come.
And this is about Yoko Ono
cmvb irrelevant
1966.That’s just my opinion.
Awesome cover ...This is one that Paul just goes all out.
Thank you!!
McCartney true legend of bass! This guy made it clear cut! Amazing performance!
Awesome job! Paul’s bass lines were second to none!
Thank you!!
Beautiful cover. Sir PAUL McCARTNEY - GENIUS
I knew Paul was a genius, but I never realizes the extent of his genius! Great performance also!

nicely done! Paul was a genius!
Guys this guy is some serious musician, know question, probably tours. We may never know.

I'm glad!!
Solid playing!
Vers good sound with the pick and flatwounds strings ,i play with hofner 1986 with strings rotosound true RS 88 m,its a same sound, great

ポールはフロントだけでかなりのコンプレッサーをかけていると思います。私はrickenから直接アンプに接続した音を撮影した画像をUPしているのでレコーディングの音に近ずけるためあえてミックスで弾いています。
Amazing tone! Sounds just like the studio version
Woooooow madre mía!! 😨 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤
OMG!!!!!!! GREAT COVER!!!!!!! LOVE THIS BASS LINE!!!!!
You nailed the chour slide, Man !! Really enjoy see you playing.
Well done! And you've removed any question I ever had in my mind that Paul recorded this song with anything but his pick and his Rick.

Perfect stuff ! That Rick sounds awesome!
So many great things about this video but your feel is on point 👌
Mr Paul is that you? amazing great bass player!!
Absolutely outstanding!
About to cry. So great this is.
Awesome tone and interpretation of a super bass line on a super electric bass!

This is sooooo goood
De las mejores covers que he oido, espectacular
Amazing bassline, great job!!!
Try putting some felt on your pick. It gives a interesting sound. You spray the pick with adhesive and then apply the felt to the pick. try it.
I've seen this video about 50 times. Thank you!
awesome
Well done sir.
It would be great to hear you playing the groovey extended coda.
Thank you

Excelent!
You've nailed THAT attack! What kind of pick are you using?
Fender HEAVY
Awesome!
These are the types of basslines that keep me from becoming a guitarist
These Macca basslines are the ones tempting me to drop the guitar and start playing bass
This is so satisfying to watch. Amazing video.
Tasty playing bro 🤝
Dude You blew me away, 👍😎🎸 how do play something that complicated ? Excellent!!

How do you do that thing at 2:02? I've attempted it at least 20 time and can't get it right.
