A great song. I especially like the last few minutes with Paul going crazy on his bass, the guitars sounding evil, and the drums doing their nice groove.
People love to diminish Ringo's accomplishments because he wasn't a songwriter like the other three and he wasn't technical. But god damn they would have not gotten to where they were without Ringo. He was a song drummer. George said Ringo only needed to hear the song once and he knew what to play. That's incredible.
yep.. and he sang lead vocals on some songs, starting w/ "What Goes On" on Rubber Soul, Honey Don't (written by Carl Perkins) and Everybody's Tryin' To Be My Baby.... some folks also don't know that George and Ringo wrote Photograph together
I saw Ringo in concert last night in Montreal! He looks so amazing I can't believe he's 82. His playing alongside Greg Bissonette was terrific. I couldn't believe I was in the same room with this rock royalty.
That’s awesome! I saw him in 2014 in Williamsport PA. It was an incredible evening. Greg Bissonette was playing with him as well. He does look good for his age. Still a great singer, and a great drummer! Glad you got to see him! Thanks for commenting!
Great cover. I like how in the outro Ringo's fills start off as simple ones and they get progressively more and more like a crazy Ringo fill were he starts off on the Tom leading to the snare and so on. Brilliant.
Thank you very much! I believe the outro fills are some of the best that Ringo has played. They sound like they would be simple to play, but when you actually go to play them, that is where the challenge begins.
Lord have mercy what hole did you crawl out of? You are the most accurate and soulful cover simultaneously, on the internet. Thank you for gracing us and the internet. No but seriously jesus that was good.
This is great. What's so interesting is that listening to the record, it feels like Ringo's playing gets really wild near the end, but seeing the parts, he's really maintaining the groove, even in the fills.
El mejor cover de bateria que he visto en mi vida. Y no por ser The Beatles, sino por lo prolijo y fiel a lo que hizo Ringo. Un aplauso, eres un músico excelente
There’s really no true way to play the end of this song when I’m jamming to it I just get progressively more crazy on the drums the longer it goes on 😂
I was looking for the drum notation for Ringos' short solo The End on Abbey Road, and came across your cover of She's So Heavy, I've always loved this song, and you nailed it! Great playing!
Thank you very much! I’m surprised I haven’t done any songs from the white album considering it is my favorite album. I’ll have that song be my first song I do from the album. Thanks for commenting!
It does seem like a rather odd fill. It’s unlike anything Ringo has played, but that is how it was played. I wish ringo played more fills similar to this. It seems rather stiff, but it is a very cool fill.
There are time signature changes throughout the song. When Lennon sings “driving me mad” going into that build up with the organ there is a measure of 2/4 (or 6/4 depending on how you count it). I think 2/4 is easier. So just count two beats instead of 4 during that measure. Hope that helps. Thanks for commenting!
I didn’t even realize you’re the same dude who made the Helter Skelter cover until I saw your channel. Once again, I like the song and video and I like you even more now.
If you’re talking about the fills that I play during the outro, I listened to the isolated track and then just wrote down what the fill is. Isn’t not sheet music or anything but a bunch of symbols that represent each drum.
Certainly. There are four mics used in this particular video. The hi hat has a Pyle PdMic78 as well as the snare drum. The snare is miked underneath (a common recording used by the Beatles at this time). The mic I have on the kick drum I’m not sure what type it is. It was given to me by a friend and I never looked up the exact model. The overhead is an audio technics at2020 placed about 4 feet above the kit. The drums are: Snare - 5.5x14 black oyster snare Hi Tom - pearl 12x10 Mid Tom - Ludwig Classic Maple Black Oyster 13x9 Floor Tom - Ludwig Classic Maple Black Oyster 16x16 Kick - 22x14 ludwig classic maple black oyster. Cymbals: 20” Zildjian Avedis Ride Cymbal 18” Paiste PST7 16” Zildjian ZBT 14” Zildjian Avedis Hi Hats. The stands are just the pearl cymbal stands I got when I first obtained my pearl drum kit. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for commenting!
How were you able to post this? I am trying to do a Beatles guitar cover and UA-cam blocked my video for copyright claim. I would appreciate help. Thanks
I think it depends on how loud you have the track. When I uploaded this video, it did get a copyright claim but I was still able to upload it. So I recommend turning the track down, or in some other songs I’ve done, I added a slight touch of reverb or pitch the track down. I usually do a half step. It’s altering the track just slightly that allows you to get through UA-cam blocking your video. So try those things and you should be able to. Hope this helps.

I 100% agree! Ringo was the key to their sound. Really tied all the songs together with his groove. Always played exactly what the song needed.

the songs that he did right were legit bangers too
That fill at 6:33🤯🤯🤩....just spectacular
One of the best fills Ringo has ever played in my opinion! The only time he’s done that fill to my knowledge.

Glorious drumming from Ringo indeed..in outro. Thanks for the efort. Love it
Well done. Ringo's fills aren't easy to duplicate, being that he's lefthanded, but play's a righthand set-up, so his fills are somewhat backward.
