If shoot interviews could feed I'd eat Honky Tonk shoots everyday lol they're some of the best. You just get a vibe when a wrestler is being authentic or not. Honky Tonk Man is 100% authentic. The dude is old school and he walks like he talks.
thanks for posting, honky shoots were always legendary, he definitely helped making this kind of content famous. Only blame he should take is for being a really entertaining SOB and great story teller.
Is it just me or are the Honkey Tonk Man interviews more entertaining when he appears very, very not sober? “We was doin’ a show in Seattle in ‘90 and I ran into Bruce Lee at the fish market, now he looked like a million bucks, but he wasn’t a good worker, and he didn’t respect the business.”
@@Delusionalpostcardswwf got the road warriors and Vince had promised them the belts that’s why honky and hammer got the shaft they were supposed to beat the hart foundation for the belts.
Thank you for this Honkytonk Man interview 👏🏾. As a child, I very much loved Pro Wrestling. As an adult, I very much still love Pro Wrestling, and I wish the Honkytonk man was my Pro Wrestling Uncle.
Grew up watching HTM in the Birmingham area Southeastern Championship Wrestling, (then known as Punk-Rock Wayne Ferris)...Ive never seen a wrestler get "more with less" than him...He definitely wasn't the most polished wrestler, BUT he could generate "Heat" with the best of them...He knew his role as a heel, and he performed it with excellence.
From Sydney Australia. Remember him when I was a kid , couldn’t stand him but love his shoot interviews. He puts his words together well and has great stories . Don’t know about this interviewer though .
What happened to the Honky Tonk Man podcast "Shake Rattle N Roll" That he had in the early 2010s?? I remember he had Angry Grandpa on there in a segment etc.. Then it all just disappeared. What happened?... Honky if anyone should have his own podcast. The guy can talk!
Yes he definitely should still have a podcast. I remember listening to a few of his podcasts ages ago. One where he was taking to piss out of Piper. Who was a good guy but did tend to take himself & his gimmick too seriously at times.
@@cutekanjii I remember. He called him "Daffy Duck" lol. But yeah its a pity. But from what ive gathered, He's retired now and he does not do anything more in the wrestling business. And good for him. At least hes not in the wrestling "Death Of Fame" of that era.
Jerry Lawler released 2 "Best of" vhs tapes of himself. I discovered them in 1986-87. On those tapes is the famous Tupelo Concession Stand Brawl. Which I learned of Larry Latham & Wayne Ferris.
I never knew that about the punk rock gimmick back in the day. I always thought he shoulda updated his thing to a punk rock/rockabilly thing in the 90's. he woulda fit right in coming out with a leather jacket on during the attitude era. Same character of the Honky Tonk Man just updated.
@38:00 The circle gets broken or when a wrestler goes way over the edge. Doing something that Vince cannot cover for him anymore. And has the distance himself and the company from the wrestler 💯
Wouldve like hear about the Tupalo Consession Stand...The first real hardcore match...Sending Love to Wayne Ferris aka The Honkytonk Man.....Shake Rattle' n Roll!❤❤

The worst part about all my 80's heroes is the ones that aren't dead are poor and destitute because back then these guys just didn't get paid to kill themselves 300 days a year. tragic tragic stuff.
I never cared for the Honky Tonk Man. I didn't hate the character like I did and still do Ric Flair. Rather, it just elicited total disinterest. I like Wayne Ferris, but Honky Tonk Man was a character that never worked for me.
To entertain, to stare into a camera for 3 minutes is a long time. I sang telegrams, lots of costumes. Some gigs no interaction to play off of. Lasted forever, better have a script memorized in your back pockets.
The fact that Honkytonk Man acknowledges that the name, “Honkytonk Man“ is as racist of pro wrestling name as being named “Bo Bo” anything, makes him continually be The Greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time in my Book😭👏🏾💐 Remember kids, once you become a truly honest person, you will forever be known as an asshole.
HTM COULD NEVER BE A FACE IN THE 80s because we the people/Fans , Were VERY OUT SPOKEN AND UNCENSORED AND OPINIONATED 💯!!! AND CALL A SPADE ♠️ A SPADE. SO HTM AS A FACE could NOT WORK FOR HIM BACK THEN. IT DOES WORK TODAY BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL "SOFT MINDED " AND AND AFRAID TO GET CANCELED 😂😂😂🎉🎉
Honky became likeable because of all the shoots and interviews he has done through the years. He stood up! He told the truth about everything, even when it would cause him heat. That is why at the Hall Of Fame, ppl started chanting "You deserve it!". Who else have gotten a chant like that! It was not bought, he earned every bit of it, through blood, sweat and tears! And his name is: Roy Wayne Farris! Remember it!

Honky Tonk has given the best shoot interviews of all time. He never has disappointed.
Yes !!! He is very authentic 😊
@priestfan81 IYHO, that is.
On that note, I thoroughly enjoy his interviews as well.
His biggest claim to fame is doing shoot interviews.

I love and enjoy listening to stories from the HTM.
He's cool. He's cocky. He's bad.
Enough about the interviewer, what is your opinion on Honky Tonk Man?
I’m going to keep it positive, working hard on changing my image. Seconds later he shat on Matt Hardy lol LEGEND
😂
Honky would be a very boring person if he wasn’t a jerk.
Haha thats our Honkey 😅

Still the best to listen to in shoots.
Honkey tonk man never fails to entertain
Honky Tonk Man is simply one of the best entertainers of all time, in any genre.
Song & Dance! Thats what its all about brother! Wooooo!

The greatest IC Champion of all time. And Rhythm & Blues weren’t too shabby either!
Oh yeh
Who was that with
I wanna say valentine.
Edit
Looked it up it was valentine 89-91 and no title
@@Chayliss they were going to get a run with the straps but then either Valentine or HTM got released and blew up the team. At least that’s the rumor.

HTM defined the shoot interview genre! He’s a legend!

every wayne ferris shoot ive seen have been great he has great stories
And just 2yrs later, after this interview. HTM would be inducted in the WWE HOF.
He needed the money.
Honky Tonk Man 🎸🕺

Yeah lol instead of the Elvis going from leather to the jumpsuits he should have went fro. The jumpsuit HTM to the leather punk rock HTM in the 90s.
Woooooooooooooooo let’s get some beer ARN

Honky and Owen Hart were the two greatest Ic champs of all time imho

Mr perfect and honky were best for me
I love Owen but when I think i/c champion i don't think anyone else but the honky tonk man greatest intercontinental champion of all-time

How come he never won the title more than once?

Honky’s always been one of my favourites.
Who is the guy doing the interview?
The Honky Tonk Man

Oh, hate to break it to you but HTM is actually the guy on the left.
one of feinsteins fruity friends🤣
Robs butt buddy. I know it’s a shocker that he’d be with a grown man but it’s true
Honky, like me, loves colby jack cheese and cold beer

Which HOF? Honky is already in the WWF HOF.
He made the HOF a yer or 2 after this video

I usually love HTM & the shoots he does. But I turned it off when the Trump discussion started. I’ve got better things to do.
Try Cornette. He’s hilariously silent on the issue 😂
Stub ended segregation in the wrestling world! He's very important to pro wrestling.

Clare balding interviewing wrestlers now!!
