  • Hey guys! So stoked to be sharing this adventure with you. This was by far my favorite trip I've done to date, and this is why I love the Ozarks so much. As you'll see, we had such a great variety of terrain, awesome challenging weather, and some beautiful views. My Jeep TJ absolutely killed it on this trip. It dominated the water crossings, washouts, and anything else I could throw at it.
Be sure to watch part 2 next!
Shoutout to Matt McClellan with Ozark Overland Adventures for planning and guiding us on this trip. Matt also has a UA-cam channel (Ozark Overland Adventures), so be sure to check that out as also has some excellent camping and offroad content.

You should try a a short or mid wheel based Land Cruiser then. I have a 96' FJ73 soft top. It's a freaking tank. And I didn't need 15k of upgrades haha. Or a shitty 4k tent on top to look cool.

You continue to inspire! Thank you for all you do. You are a significant part of the reason I bought a 2005 Rubicon! My 19 y/o son has an XJ and wants to do overlanding. He didn't have any buds that wanted to get involved. We have been wrenching on his Jeep and dreaming of the trips we could take. I showed my wife your video of Mulberry and she said "Let's get one too!" This is something we can all get involved in. He is an Eagle Scout and I was a Venturing Crew Advisor, so we are very geared up and ready to hit the trail. Thank you so much Grant. It is something that we will have fond memories of for the rest of our lives. Keep the content coming! Once I get everything checked out and road ready- We are doing that Mulberry trip!

I do want to point out that ALL of these trails we ran were LEGAL. You cannot simply go to the forest and drive wherever you see a trail. You must obey the law and only drive on MVUM trails or you will be fined by a forest ranger.
Matt McClellan has an excellent explanation how to safely and legally run trails like this in the Ozarks. Check out his channel and recent video about Gaia GPS navigation. ua-cam.com/video/yKkoEwCmZpw/v-deo.html

The Ozarks and ouchitas have been getting hammered the past few years and it’s getting to where those special camps and routes are now overrun and trashed. I know you guys pick up as much trash as we do but it’s disheartening to see pristine camps trashed by people. Just a few years ago that IB camp was hardly known about, unlike now

Actually all of us but 1 had M/T's. But I agree, the A/T's suck in this mud/clay. Just stays packed in the grooves.

I grew up in North East TX and went to Arkansas to camp but never wheeled there. Now in Colorado, it is a different style of wheelin but I hope someday I can make it back to the South for some trail fun.

@@ArkansasOffroad Let me know if ya ever make it out, would be happy to suggest a few trails or even show ya a couple trail. Check out Chinaman Gulch and Holy Cross for the "harder" trails and Red Cone and Crystal Mill trail for the more scenics...happy to help if ya need it.
