Having driven the boxer 4 engine in my 718 for 4 years, I don’t need a six either for sound or power. I’m also perfectly happy with the PDK despite learning to drive in the early 60’s on nothing but manuals and not owning an automatic until the 80’s. The turbo charged four is brilliant and the PDK is even more brilliant. You don’t need anymore than that. If you want it, it’s between your ears.
The power "problem" of the 4-clinders can be easily fixed with a simple ECU tune.. Makes them even faster than the 6-cilinder NA engine, because more torque and less weight.. That leaves only the different sound.. Even if you think the 6 sounds better is that really worth the 20+k extra?!?
What a beautiful car. What a beautiful spec. Rubystone is currently my most favorite paint on any car. I don't see myself getting a shot with this car but I can imagine it must be so much fun. This is such a great sportscar!
Even though the H4 engine might be enough power for most people… the H6 being NA and thus having to chase the revs a little more is certainly more my style, plus just feels more properly Porsche.
Have you driven a 718 four-cylinder turbo? I believe if you do, you will find it’s more than enough for that vehicle. There’s no reason for any more power and the turbo four is definitely 100% Porsche.
Great video ❤ Porsche with gasoline engine and manual transmission, sounds good to me! I would buy this car but if Porsche is going EV, bye 👋 not interested. Can’t Porsche not go all digital screen instead give real gauges…it is going age more gracefully. I think the LC is more desirable with that V8.
"If you want a Boxster get the 4, if you want a Porsche get the 6" That's nonsense.. The Cayman/Boxster with the 4-cilinder turbo's are the best driving Porsches, because weight and midengine.. But it's all fine, Porsche marketing loves people who think like that, means they did their job.. Go spend your money on a way more expensive "real Porsche" GTS or 911..
Are you excited for the Porsche 718 Boxster EV or do you prefer the petrol version?
I am excited to see what they can do with it since they are committed to it..

Appreciate the feedback - thanks!
