Ken, I've been watching your shaving videos since I got into Wet Shaving Aug last year. I've never commented, (to my knowledge, maybe 1 or 2) and have been a subscriber for a while (I'm sure you can verify all stats) I've felt the need to jump into the comments as felt a little let down by the various moans you mentioned in the video during the shave, about being too forward to the camera, not doing this, or should be doing that! It did/does seem to bother you... but I can tell you from me and thousands of others, your videos are top-notch. We love watching you, you're relaxing, and you aren't afraid to get a nice aggressive shave on. You STAY SAFE and keep well my friend. Keep telling us to do so. Love from the UK.
@@kensurfs Currently, Newcastle are 11th in the league. Not the best, but hey ho life goes on in Football/Soccer. They get paid much more than us mere mortals. When's the next video Ken? Need some Mr Surfs :)
Hi Ken - Enjoy your videos and your honest assessment of the products you demonstrate. Also like the Jim Garner photo on your wall. I think the "Rockford Files" was one of his best roles.
Hey Ken! This is Adam Gregory, we had traded soaps through the mail awhile back. I know I haven’t commented in awhile, but I’m still here and watching every video ! Keep up the good work !
You're not too close to the camera Ken. Your vids always look and sound great! In fact I'm impressed you make such great videos on a phone in a shave den! If that viewer wanted to make a shave video that showed everything he could add a second camera to show what's going on by the sink. But don't do that. It's unnecessary and more complicated. We love your presentation style and that you keep it simple, friendly and clear with lots of variety of hardware & software. It's amazing you are so responsive and read all the comments. Thanks for taking one for the team with these aggressive razors. Please try not to sweat rare critical comments.
Good shave Ken! Like you I have a fair to none beard but I do enjoy my wet shaves. I wouldn’t change a thing in the way you make your videos. I enjoy each one plus I’ve purchased some shave items just from watching you. Don’t CHANGE and remember “I HOPE YOU AND THE FAMILY STAY SAFE”.
You did not get to 22,000 subscribers having a bad channel!! Keep doing what you do and BE YOU! It is your channel. If someone wants different, let them make their own! Great shaves my friend!!
As one of your new 400+ subscribers over the last 28 days, I have to say I look forward to your videos every week. I’ve learned a lot from you as I started my wet shaving journey. So thank you for that! Keep up the good work and stay safe out there!
Hi Ken- Great razor comparison shave; thank you! Two very efficient razors- well done! Good luck with your dermatology appointment and have a great weekend ahead. Take good care and be safe and be well. Best regards, as always!
I really enjoy your shaving videos unfortunately I was off for about a year it is so good to watch them I live in New Zealand and don't worry about other people's comments I think you're cool can you stay safe my friend
Great shave, although I'm like you and don't need an aggressive razer. Always great watching though. Also, where you stand is fine. I'm a video producer and your head is framed up very well. Actually, your videos are very high quality for what you're using. The lighting is good and, for a smartphone, it looks great.
@@kensurfs To get the lines really sharp on a french beard you are better off using a shavette for that area ... that is what I do. You get lines that look like they were drawn with a ruler ...
I have always used my smartphone to shoot videos! The videos of my blades that are on this account were all filmed during the lockdown on my Galaxy note/9. I’m kind of doing the same thing as the critics by offering advice but here goes: you have the most watched wet shave channel for a reason. You’re doing it right. Stand where you want. Say what you want. Use the products you want. You use a variety of products and you’re honest without being overly critical. Keep on keeping on brother. Stay safe! 😀
Ken, you're the best at what you do. Don't worry about some of these knuckleheads, who think they're movie directors. Don't change a thing, and by the way, you also have the best looking shave den on UA-cam. As usual, another great shave, my friend. 👍👍 Stay safe out there.
I go four to six days between shaves sometimes. I have a Merkur 38C and it does the job in two passes. Good video Ken, stay safe out there in California.
Hey Ken. I’ve been watching your videos a few months, and thanks to you, I’ve switched to wet shaving after using an electric razor for 45 years. Keep up the great vids and stay safe!

Ken, really enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work! I found your channel when I rehabbed my late father-in-law’s vintage Gem Junior Razor recently and I was doing some research into how to use it. It’s at least 80 years old. Really like using it; I got some SE blades from the folks at Phoenix Shaving that work great. Look forward to more of your videos.

I’m like you... prefer a milder razor. I’m currently using a Rockwell 6S with plate R4. My other favorite is the Merkur 34C HD. Honestly it’s the only razor most of us need. Love your videos... you do a great job. Stay safe Ken. 💈💈🪒
Great video. Your last video on the homelike hummingbird got me to purchase it (1.10 plate only) and it’s right now on it’s way from Russia. Really appreciate your work 🥂

I heard on an old radio show that parents in France used to tell their children to " BE WISE "! Being wise will help with making good decisions! It is also Biblical!
Nice shave Ken. I'm not to much into the aggressive razors. I have a Blackland razor and every once and awhile I will use it. Keeps me up on my shaving game. You have to pay attention or you will be calling 911. "You be safe out there", per Hill Street Blues. Thanks.
Hello Ken. It's a pity I didn't hear your characteristics and your attitude to the 1.5 gap plate. It would be very interesting to hear your impressions.
Homelike I think the gap is too big for me personally. I only use the R41 on occasion. I prefer the smaller gap milder razors. Thanks, sorry I should have mentioned that in the vid.
I have a handful of adjustable razors (gillette slim, vikings blade meiji, Etc...) but have found that I prefer my single setting DE razors. Seeing how effective the r41 is in the video is def making me consider adding it to my collection. Great video again man!
Another great shave video Ken. I agree that finding the right blade and razor combo is paramount. I really like the Treet Platinum Super Stainless blades I get from Pakistan as well as your beloved Gillette Wilkinson Swords from India. I made mix in a Voskhod every now and then. Staying safe is great advice when demonstrating shaving with a very sharp instrument and should always be said! Heck I say it all the time when closing a conversation. Keep it up Ken!!
Whoa. 1.5 mm Colibri with the R41, uber-aggressive shave w/o a nick, cut or weeper. An outstanding shave that belongs in the Kensurfs HoF Top10 shaves imho.

Hello there! Thank You for all your videos.............I think I have found a new Hobby :) For me shaving was a real burden. Now I actually enjoy doing it. The wife gave a set from Supply and I am looking for the best single blade out there to try. I bought some Shick blades, but I don't really care for them. Thank You again for the videos!
Echoing the others... these are YOUR videos, you can do and say what you want. 🤙🏻 I always appreciate you spreading good vibes, care, and concern for everyone in this virtual community regardless of whether you know them personally or not. On a shaving note, thanks for clarifying the Mühle is NOT an open comb. I was sitting here looking closely and wondering, not sure, and then 2 seconds later you specified. Haha
Hello Ken, I don't know why anyone would be disrespectful towards you. You are such a nice guy. I like the r41, merkur slant and the fatip. Take care Sir.
Great shave Ken! My 2 most aggressive razors are my black beauty and the muhle rocca with feather blades. My choice is the muhle rocca with a personna red blade, or the black beauty with a Wilkinson swords blade. Balances the aggressiveness out. Stay safe and stay healthy! Oh, one last thing Ken. There is nothing wrong with any of your vids. In my opinion, they're perfect! Yes everyone has they're opinions. But don't change a thing with your vids!
Great shave as always, Ken! the R41 is my go-to for the scalp. Very direct feel. I am actually amazed by how big a difference the lather makes. Have been toying with some Castle Forbes lately and it just leaves my head dry as hell, postshave. Not sure why but it apparently takes a lot of tries for me to get that one right.
I'm a truck driver and stay safe in our industry means don't get in a wreck. LOL. I've been out throughout the pandemic so Life has been pretty much normal for me.
Great shave video! The distance is perfect!. For me, after a year of wet shaving, have found out that a mild razor with a sharp blade works best for me..
I don't trust myself with a more aggressive razor. The Razorock Quick Change seems to get the job done for me pretty well. I just ordered a Repitech of a Gillette Super Speed from Global Shave Club, and I'm looking forward to trying that.
Hey Ken! Great video as always. Since you enjoy Pinball, how about discussing some of your experiences around home gaming consoles in the 70s and 80s? Would be great to a hear. Ive requested Sinatralennon for the same since he too has a liking for vintage stuff. Thanks!
Great shave. I usually don't end up perfect(a couple tags typically). I notice with techniques, many usually do pass one as with grain, pass two as across grain on the face and against on the neck and pass three(if necessary) against grain on the face and across on the neck. Is that the best method that does the trick or should a wetshaver experment to find the techniques that work best?
Hey again Ken! So currently I have a 1918 Gillette open comb razor as my most aggressive razor. How much more aggressive of a razor is the muhle and the other one in this video? Is it worth getting for a closer shave? Or is the 1918 Gillette gonna give me the closest shave virtually possible on the first pass just like the muhle...? When I shave 3 passes, with the last against the grain pass, I feel nothing, NOTHING when rubbing against the grain. True BBS. Is that what you’re feeling on the against the grain finger rub after just one pass with the muhle? Or do you feel more whiskers depending on which direction you move your finger? Thanks!
Ken great shave 👍 On the left side anyway 😂 ken you’ve got 21 thousand plus subscribers. You doing good. Some people are pin heads, don’t let em try to change what you love to do, the way you love to do it 😉 I you stand in front of the camera in the room, it works for me and everyone that watches but possibly 2. Love the videos, love the content Stay safe 😎😎
Great shave. You should try one day the Fatip open comb slant (aka the FOCS). It’s an incredible razor : smooth & efficient. It’s getting loads of great reviews on Badger and Blade. But, there are hardly any reviews of it on UA-cam, at least in English.
Great shave. I wish I could stop at two, or better yet, one pass. But I’m always in pursuit of that BBS shave and can’t help myself. Anyway, stay safe my friend. Almost forgot. I have to stay over the sink as well. The misses certainly would not want water, whiskers and soap on her floor. I get in enough trouble with the soap residue in the sink.
Hey Ken, Thanks for the video, always look forward to these during my prep. Would you consider making a video for long-term blade storage solutions? Right now I’m using tupperware but i’de love to see your take. Regards
Jacob Garcia I’ll see if I can remember to mention something. Tupperware, but not in the bathroom. The moisture is higher in the bathroom usually at my house so mine are in a cabinet now in the garage
Keep doing what you’re doing 👍🏻 Ken. Some people seem to forget that they aren’t the only ones watching.

I don't trust myself with a more aggressive razor. The Razorock Quick Change seems to get the job done for me pretty well. I just ordered a Repitech of a Gillette Super Speed from Global Shave Club, and I'm looking forward to trying that.

Nice shave! No blood at all! Perhaps I will try a Mühle R41 in the future, but probably after the Rex Ambassador.

Great job Ken, love watching your shaves! Really makes my day, every time!
My wife laughs every time she hears your intro music...ha!!

I love those Wilkinson Sword Gillette blades from India.
I enjoy watching your videos, entertaining and informative.

Ken,,,,,should you wet your face a little before applying shaving cream for the 2nd pass? I noticed you said your face was dry in this video.
I usually wet the brush again👍💈
Hi Ken! Any chance we can get a vid on your razor collection?
My shave den tours usually show them all
Hey Ken! Great video as always. Since you enjoy Pinball, how about discussing some of your experiences around home gaming consoles in the 70s and 80s? Would be great to a hear. Ive requested Sinatralennon for the same since he too has a liking for vintage stuff. Thanks!
I’ll try. My first console besides nes was 3DO with Demolition man
Great shave.

Thanks!
John Smith the gap on the Muhle R41is probably greater than the 1918. But the R41 is closed comb
Ken great shave 👍 On the left side anyway 😂 ken you’ve got 21 thousand plus subscribers. You doing good. Some people are pin heads, don’t let em try to change what you love to do, the way you love to do it 😉
I you stand in front of the camera in the room, it works for me and everyone that watches but possibly 2.
Love the videos, love the content
Stay safe 😎😎
Thank you👍💈
Battle of the Axes. Which one was smoother?
Pat Kaczmarek ironically both were pretty equal. I was nervous with the colibri because that was first use. The R41 I’ve used tons of times👍👍
I also think that the distance is perfect, keep it as it is id say

Good video Ken I wish I could grow a real good stubble or beard

Great shave. You should try one day the Fatip open comb slant (aka the FOCS). It’s an incredible razor : smooth & efficient. It’s getting loads of great reviews on Badger and Blade. But, there are hardly any reviews of it on UA-cam, at least in English.
I’ll try👍👍
Great shave. I wish I could stop at two, or better yet, one pass. But I’m always in pursuit of that BBS shave and can’t help myself. Anyway, stay safe my friend. Almost forgot. I have to stay over the sink as well. The misses certainly would not want water, whiskers and soap on her floor. I get in enough trouble with the soap residue in the sink.
Mine goes in the bowl then dumped into toilet👍👍
Kensurfs I’m not nearly neat enough to keep it in that tiny bowl you use. I’ve got to have the whole basin.

Hey Ken,
Thanks for the video, always look forward to these during my prep.
Good video ken 💈💈 i also love proraso white but my al time fav is tabac :) stay safe cheers from France 💪💪
