Nice to see this being put back to it's former glory. I'll tell ya, as much I am an Aero Fox guy,. As time goes on... I''m really starting to appreciate these 4 eye fox's more and more.
Nice 4 eyed coupe. Wishing Justin all the best with his great project. I hope he goes everything, LoL. So nice to have something belong to his father and rebuild it. I bet his dad would be so proud. I hope he provides us with updates. Keep on him Matt.
This is one of my dream cars and I love that it’s a one family car. My first car was a white 4cyl coupe but instead of swapping it I let it go, had many other Fox bodies after but not another coupe.
Had I known back in the day 5.0 notch backs would be soooo popular I would have bought 2 . One as a keeper/ driver and one to store and resale. Could be my retirement income 😂😂. Good to see these cars can still be found and are sought after 👍
i was lucky enough to find an 87 4 eye coupe original v8 car, was tracked so im in the process of making it streetable..first foxbody platform for me..im coming from jdm cars my whole life, these cars are a whole different animal, only flaw is a dented cow panel, i might bondo it instead of replacing the whole cowel panel
I love that 86 one of my good friends has one almost identical to it but with the sand / tan colored interior I think it's kind of a rare thing for that year too... not 100% sure I'm not all up to par on my four eye stuff but haven't seen it in many other ones love the content you keep bringing buddy keep it up!!!
Hey Shifty! I agree that I don't recall seeing many of those. My FHP has the tan interior and I really like it even though it's an Aero so obviously different.
Yea my dad passed away about 7 months ago and I was in a position to be able to buy his 89 gt form my step mother it’s a work of love I can’t wait to get my pops car done it will be a while I’ve done got new carpet for it it’s a sun roof car but great video can’t wait for the up dates
I also have a 1986 lx 5.0 5 speed coupe but its white with red interior and has 68 thousand original miles I'm currently restoring it it was parked when it was only 4 years old
Just gonna throw this out there it's been awhile living in my Mustang life but time to get back at it.... Great videos.... I have a1983 mustang GLX Convertible... 5.0..5spd Manual.... White exterior black stripe up hood... With hood scoop...Interior all black....78,000 Original miles... Only thing not original are the rims.... Was told came factory with hubcaps. Years ago when I was researching I could not find one like this... Was told by the car dealer that the guy that owned it before me ordered it out... I'm thinking I might have 1 of 1.... Open for any comments... Craig R. Olson
I'm the original and only owner of my '91 Notchback 5.0 but '86 was the year I watched back in '86 in my old neighborhood growing up running away from the police and they never got caught that was when I knew I was going to be a Notchback 5.0 owner and watching those '86 5.0's whoop on Iroc-z's and corvette's back in the street racing days
Great Video Matt do you know where i can get a passenger side rear view mirror for a 85 or 86 GT cobra .Any help would be much appreciated. I am from Northern Ontario Canada and Mustang parts are rare here.
For rust fluid film. .. .. Nuff said ✌😏... All that undercoating crap just covers up rust or locks in moisture if it cracks and lets in water then rust and eats your metal from the inside out. In 6 winters my underbody looks band new almost on my truck!
Wow paint first huh I’m doing pAint last. Well second to last new motor will be last but my motor is good for now. Low miles. Just a crime to yank it. But I do want more power though. But my 79s paint is in the same shape as that ones so I rly rly want the paint done. Interior is done except for carpet and period correct head unit.
Can we call Matt the “Fox Body Jedi”? Lol
He knows the ins & outs of these cars for sure.
Keep us up to date on this notch 👍
It's a contender for sure! LOL
Nice to see this being put back to it's former glory. I'll tell ya, as much I am an Aero Fox guy,. As time goes on... I''m really starting to appreciate these 4 eye fox's more and more.
I'm the same way J PP. I'm going to have one in the future I think.
She's seen better days but, I sure love my 86 sand beige coupe. Glad to see another one coming back to life.
Yeah, I loved the story behind this one too.
Awesome story, thanks for sharing Matt.

Thanks Paul, yes I can't wait to se what direction he goes with the engine.

I agree with everything you said and I'll definitely try and get updates from Justin. He did say he may bring it to Foxtoberfest.

Couldn't have even said it better myself Mike.
I have the exact twin 86 notch. Another great video!
Nice! Price is going up on those in particular for sure.
This is one of my dream cars and I love that it’s a one family car. My first car was a white 4cyl coupe but instead of swapping it I let it go, had many other Fox bodies after but not another coupe.

That is a sweet coupe!
💯 percent, see you at PITS buddy.
We are rolling out in the morning.
Change from speed density to mass air would be one of my first mods
Good call, we mentioned that, but I ended up cutting it from the video.
Awesome vid as usual bud 🍻👍
Thanks so much👍

The cowl replacement is no joke. Good luck with your project.
A 87 4 eye???
87’s were not 4 eyes. 86 was the last year for the 4 eye.
Cool video, nicely done
Hey Buddy! Thank you very much!

Sorry for your loss, but so glad you've got that connection.
This is gonna be a nice one!
It will take some time, I think so.
Good stuff Matt! 🦊💯🔥😎🤘
Appreciate it Scott!
I also have a 1986 lx 5.0 5 speed coupe but its white with red interior and has 68 thousand original miles I'm currently restoring it it was parked when it was only 4 years old
Wow that's definitely a low mileage keeper, great to hear!

Never heard of that myself
Great video! Four eyed 5.0 L coupe... A rarity indeed. Unrelated, could I get a link to buy one of those double DIN stereo trims for my ‘93?
Thanks, I think what you are looking for is here on 417 FOX's site: www.417fox.com/
@@GearHead704 Thank you! Purchased.
Great car to have in the stables👊🦊
Yeah, it was very clean and original for sure Frank. Hope to see you at PITS if you're going.
Yeah not this time, I will explain at a later time when I see you. 👊🦊
Are replacement dash pads still available for the 86 ?
I'm not sure. E-mail parts@foxresto.com and they should be able to let you know. I think they can get them, but just not 100%
Yes!
I’ll do that. Ty

YES! They really did rule the street back then. Enjoy your 91 that's awesome you've had it since day one.
beautiful car
It's a great base. Looking forward to seeing it once he's done with it.
Man what a cool car

Great news on your truck.
Needs the lmr 15 x 9 10 holes in the back.
We forgot to talk about wheel options
Wow paint first huh

I ended up doing paint last on my vert build, or so I thought. Ended up having engine trouble and had to replace it after all anyway lol
I would that car in the patina look it has.
Yeah that's a cool look too for sure. That's how I want my SSP.
5.0 5 speed. It'll be cool seeing fresh life breathed into his dads car.
Definitely. He said he's going to try and bring it to Foxtoberfest.
They made a fair number of lx v8 hatches in 86, some 20,000 or so, about ten times the number of v8 coupes.
Yes, it's the coupes that are rare for sure. Lots of hatches.
Over 43,000 5.0L hatchbacks in 1986 but less than 2500 of them were LX
Over 2800 5.0L coupes
Is he sure he doesn’t want to sell it to me instead?🤔🤔🤔
LOL, I definitely thought of you when I saw this car.
Lol. It looks like a great car and great story behind it!
It's not a GT number one.
LOL I know, I said later in the video I got it wrong.
Resto mod makes me gag.
To each their own right?
Unfortunately these car aren’t worth enough to restore. You are better off buying an original car
Agreed, I think this one has some sentimental value though.
